Different Stages is the name of a 3-disc live album that was released while the band was on hiatus after Neil's daughter died in 1997, followed by his wife 10 months later. I was named that because it was recorded in arenas in several different cities --- also as a play on the names of 2 previous live albums, All the Worlds a Stage, and Eat, Stage Left.
@@KentBalzer im so sorry I made you cry. I almost cried too watching this. There is just something about them, the true raw emotion of this powerful trio. The fact we lost such an incredible talent. I hope you continue watching my reactions to them. There is more on the way. Big hugs from me 🤗🤟
"Different Stages" is the name of the Live album they put out after Neil had his family tragedy, in 1997. The live album was released in 1998. The video is a nice compilation of snips from different tours throughout their career, from 1977 onwards (1977 was when Closer to the Heart was released).
The first and one of the few Rush songs they played a lot on the radio I heard as a kid but more than enough to start a life long affinity for the band. 😊
Rush was one of those bands that would write songs while touring, for their next album, then go into the studio and crank out a new album in a couple of weeks, and very often because they got better with age and more practiced their live versions were often much better than the studio original. Fun fact you have seen Xanadu live, well they recorded that in one take for The Farewell To Kings album. 😊

Psalm 139:13-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
