I have to say I really look forward to watching your videos. I started building my first fly rod with Project Healing Waters. My third year somehow, I managed to win first place intermediate class. I have been very lucky. I have a friend from our club who is a professional and has helped me so much. The rest of my experience is watching your you-tubes and some others. I did learn something that you probably know but I don't see you do it so here it is. Take a popsicle stick (small pieces to match tape) and put it between the blank and the double face tape (I use masking tape and reverse it after i hold down stick) when you finish you don't have to worry about damaging the blank and no pealing tape off. well keep the videos coming. Jack
I’ve had a similar story. Started with PHW, somehow took 3rd in the beginner category on my first rod. Good to see it got you hooked as well. (Pun intended)
Thank you so much for all your videos! Im new to custom wrapping and i watch your vids the most ! Appreciate all your guidance and wisdom in the craft!
Referencing your spacing, you said you’d worked out your maths for size A thread, then used size D. That alone will throw off your spacing. But another thing I caught was that you were thinking you could get 5 D wraps per mm, and unless I’m remembering incorrectly, it’s about 4 to 4.5 wraps of size A thread per mm. So in a wrap we’re the tolerances are so tight, those two things can be enough to really make you run out of room before you planned on it. That said, I think it came together Very Well! It’s not about the mistakes we make, but how we move forward from them. 👍🏻 Good Job 👏🏻
Dude. Video quality ain’t the best, but I learned more from watching 11 minutes of your video then any other videos on here. I want to learn more. Thank you
Im looking to try this wrap...thanks for the tutorial. I use the taper offset calculations for my rod, but it only gives the 90 and 180. How are you coming up with the other marks between the main points?
I do not mind at all. I used size D thread for this wrap. I normally use size D for my wraps and size A for my weaves. Thank for watching and for the question.
I wish you would preface the lesson with your layout measurements. It woukd help a beginner like me. Thanks for all your videos and all the time you have commited to this art!

Hey did you do the lay out video?
sorry, I did not. I did not do many layout videos
I wish you would preface the lesson with your layout measurements. It woukd help a beginner like me. Thanks for all your videos and all the time you have commited to this art!
It is hard to give exact measurements because it depends on your rod thickness, but i will do my best to add this info.
All the sudden I feel like taking a nap 😴
Did i bore you?
