Kia & Hyundai definitely have a a fully developed design language. Now they are getting to the making operatic masterpieces era.
KIA hired away some top designers(two that I personally know of)from BMW and Mercedes several years ago. They were given free rein(relatively speaking)for redesign on many of their models. For at least the last 2-3 years KIA has been making some really good looking cars, now they just need to work on reliability issues.

Imo most economy cars have had a glow up compared to their last 2 generations. Were living in a great time for design, cant say the same for reliability.
@@MrUser999999 Not convinced this K4 is an economy car. With the Rio gone, the Forte was the only affordable Kia. Seems this K4 is going upscale.
@racineurr.8924 it will likely be priced similar to the civic, and elantra. Doubt it will be as expensive as a mazda, mainly for the reliability status kia has. As for economy car, I usually think mainstream or non premium brand(ie lexus, bmw, audi, etc) mid size sedans or smaller or compact suvs. Vehicles pushing for near 40mpg or better.
Lots of cool cars never leave Japan for some reason, they have lots of nice cars.

Love what Kia is doing here, though the roofline really begs to be a lift back. I’m also really into the hatchback/wagon version.

the screen for HVAC is secondary there are buttons just below hazard for temp, mode and fan speed. but the design is nice

Oddly, this may be the first time I disagree on a design. I don’t like it. Kia should keep the complete tiger nose. The one exterior design on the hood creases sweeping to the side mirrors is nice 5:15 . I do agree on the wheels can transform a car. Keep up the great content ❤
Absolutely stunning design all around.. BUT, the abrupt stop of the side of the greenhouse threw me off ngl, just seems odd since the rest of the design has, despite the strong angles and lines, a really nice flow to it. Again, absolutely stunning, just that one thing threw me off, would have changed it a bit.
roofline reminds me a lot of the Stinger

this new coupé- suv is a new orientation to attract the customers! it s pretty original concept made by many brands as peugeot,renault,lucid air.......etc. a cool design there is no boubt even better then the BMW! new suv. i m sur about that. but the question: my question remain the same ; putting prototypes into production isn t a risky STRATEGY?

Side note, you should start a wheel recommendation business / part of the channel. Get people to send pics of their cars and give 2-3 options of what would look good ;) cheers
12:20 💯 on this. Why create a screen where the driver can't even see it nor use it? I don't like this trend at all. It was on the EV9 and that was one reason why I didn't get it. They have space down there so why not just put the climate controls there so that the passenger could use it easily? I just don't get it and will not get a Kia with that screen. I recently picked up the EV6 GT and even that dual screen climate control setup takes time to get use to it. I would rather had them put separate controls on the bottom as again there is space there.
That climate screen is a stupid cop out. Literally can't see it passed the steering wheel on the EV9. Guarantee same issue here.

YES THE DESIGN WITH THE NEW CHISELED LOOK IS GREAT .BUT WITH THE CUT IN POWER AND NO DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION IS BAD. THE GREAT PART OF THE OLD FORTE WAS THE 1'6 TURBO 201HP AND THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION MADE THE CAR!! LOOKS TO ME KIA IS SLANTING MORE TO LUXURY THAN PERFOMANCE.
I would describe it as a mini Stinger with Telluride accents. This with the 2.5 turbo and AWD would be about as fun as an ICE car gets.
So it doesn't have a style of its own. You buy this K4 to have a reminder ofr stinger and Telluride. Nice.
@@racineurr.8924 I guess... cars like this have a pretty limited use case. They are slow and a bit sloppy because of the price point. They are kinda cramped for more than a single person or newlyweds. Something like a Chevy Trax is much more practical since it is station wagon shaped but not so bulky that it handles far worse. So I have trouble to find a thing about it that's easy to recommend. I guess the goal here is to look sleek, be cheap, and have big screens. I'm sure some people will buy it and be very happy. The hatch has a lot more to offer in exchange for the style.

BMW design is just "different". You should have a certain taste and age to realize this.
If BMW want to bring a real new design, they still deliver. Unlike these rip off clowns from Asia.
Hyundai and Kia are quite annoying German car design rip off clowns. This is very obvious with every design the are bringing out these days.
These Asians are just stealing designs from Porsche, from Audi, from BMW, from Mercedes-Benz. That's all about their design "language".
They need to start bringing this cars to Europe...enough with the SUV's !!!

Cyberpunk-esque design. The rear fender almost gives off the illusion of like a rear wheel cover, at least from the side view with that shadow. Cool car!
This is a beautiful ride. I bought the 2024 k5 . It almost makes me jealous. But Kia is doing a great job with cars for those of us who don't care for SUV.
On the streets recently, I have seen so many cars that made my head turn, and they were all new KIAs!!!! Well done!

The sketches look fantastic, but I don’t like how they solved the C-D pillars on the street version. However I love the hatchback, the vertical cut on the pillar looks more harmonic and integrated on the overall design.

I switched from Ford in 2019 to Hyundai and am so pleased with my car after 77k trouble free miles.
Me too, dumped the Ford got 2023 elantra and 2024 Kia K5. Great design, smooth ride, quality interior and great mpg. Elentra gets 54+ mpg on freeway
This looks epic and I suspect they will do a full GT version later on that’s more horsepower. I kinda wish they did more with a hybrid standard, but maybe later on. When the hatchback comes into market I honesty don’t care how much money I have I desperately want it 😂
No mention of the veloster style door handles for the rear doors? I found it to be an interesting decision for a sedan

Overall it’s cool, but that back pillar loses me.
Makes my ‘23 Accord Sport Hybrid look like a plebeian car. Toyota and Honda needs to step up big time and refrain from using bland and cheap design, starting off with Honda’s dollar-store style cheap, flimsy plastics inside and out on their entire new lineup.

I don't see how we're looking at the same car. This is the most futuristically bland car I've seen since the 6000 SUX from Robocop. The overhangs are disastrous, it's soulless (pardon the pun), it looks top heavy, like it's too much weight for the tiny wheels, the C/D pillar is a joke. Everything is oversized, this is what happens when you try to graft SUV design cues onto a sedan. Gross.
One day Kia will break away from Hyundai group.

Looking good! The design in general reminds me of a Polestar car.
I wondered about the 2.0L as I like "naturally aspired" but they did say the iVT was tweaked, so I have high hopes it will be okay still. The 8 speed modern but traditional transmission is due to disinformation that is so reality taken on the dual clutch by competitors. So the dual clutch the wrench in this market has always been that you have to realize how MANUAL transmissions work as that is that a dual clutch is - the computer (pretty sure it is NOT the HAL9000) does a far better job of it then a human can (it is because too humans are FAR less fuel efficient shifters). In short (too late) the dual clutch is almost always better and more enjoyable in the hands of someone who understands it - but a big dis-pleaser in the hands of the those who think it is an "smooth and refined automatic".

Very surprised by the overall positive feedback on the styling. The lonesome roundish door handle in the middle of the side profile, looks out of place. I really like the interior design, but I feel like the exterior design will be laughable in a couple years. Same vibes as the Elantra.
Cadillac should copy it.

There must be something wrong with me because find this K4 particularly unattractive. The sketches looked decent and interesting enough, but the end product appears anything but. To me it looks confused. A nice sporty car from some angle, a pedestrian sedan from another and some weird truck-like thing going on in the rear.
I’m not a huge fan of manufacturers adding in the black fender trim pieces, I’ve seen it becoming more popular with more companies. I think with it makes the car look bigger than it actually is. Reminds me of a mix between a Crossover and a sedan which doesn’t make any sense to me. I think if the pieces weren’t there or the trim was the same color, it would make the car and wheels fit the styling imo.
You mean designs most Americans won't buy. This design has no real design. Just a concept mold made to keep resembling a Kia Stinger. American Brands are killing Designs and these Merger Brands dominate the auto industry. If Hyundai didn't steal so many designs from other Brands they would have a true Design language. Not keep going back to the drawing board...literally lol
There are some small questionable oddities in the details to my eye, but overall I think it looks sharp. I have a feeling there's going to be a huge jump in price between the outgoing Forte (pronounced For-tay) and the new K4. Kia seems to be pushing this car to be larger and more upscale. Manufacturers in general seem to be discontinuing their most affordable models and pushing existing models upmarket with higher prices.

Great looks cannot hide the fact that at the end of the day it's still a Kia. Kia/Hyundai are disposable cars. You drive a Kia or Hyundai until it runs out of gas, then you throw it away. You want quality, you want reliability, there's just one name.....Toyota baby! To a lesser degree Honda. But if you want to sleep easy do yourself a favor, buy a Toyota. Steer the f clear of Kia\Hyundai
Just like the world today , this car shows where good taste goes aka crap!! I have never seen such a horrible something , cuz I can't name that design , how that little window looks like at the C pillar. The back of the car looks like it's melting and so on. Just horrible🤮🤮🤮

Oh Audi A7 looks nice. Front looks nice on the Kia, interiour looks bad, and the rear headlights destroys the rear, making it look as a Volvo EC30 or what they are called :/
I honestly feel like Hyundai is over designing their vehicles now. Kia has always been more conservative. But this car feels moderately over designed. I still prefer the current Forte.

its side ( starting from the rear door to the back ) just reminds me the ugly honda clarity. its concept sketch looks much more pleasing, the actual thing is so unbalance. hatchback seems better.
