I really love pump action blasters from Hasbro, the EAT is one of my all time favorites, no questions asked, no batteries required. This is kindof a let down. Its a real shame that Zuru is doing so much more for so much less money. Thats really influencing my opinion. Theres already a great proprietary blaster this style that just functions better at a lesser price.

FYI, since the Turbo Advance gets so much obvious mention: depending on where you got your TA with its 40-round drum, it might be packed with either 96 darts or 144 darts. Those darts are shorter than Elite darts, but the TA *will* load Elites/waffleheads/AccuClones without much fuss.

I like the "tiger stripe" pattern, it's good for a basis for painting zebra-skin or similar animal stripes or splinternight, grassland/plains camo.
The Digital camo prints are nice as well as you can paint those CADPAT, MARPAT, or any digcam scheme, some wild combos there you could try for a paint job!

Bought this for my 7yr old lad and its his new weapon of choice for Nerf Wars, standard out of the box it has good performance. Ive modded a few of his blasters but at his young age he either cant prime them or his arms tire very quickly, with this, he can run with it, prime it and fire it all night without getting tired. I was quite impressed with its power of fire as well compared to most of his other standard blasters.
He used in anger for the first time 2 weeks ago at Terminal Infection 2 and loved it, used it again last week when his Beaver Scouts held a Nerf War for the kids and it was outstanding, it actually helped his team win every round, with him getting a 6 - 1 kill streak to win the last man standing event.
Think you were a bit harsh on it tbh, id highly recomend it

Stocks suck in general for shooting with nerf guns. They serve no purpose.
1. You dont have a lot of recoil anyway
2. You dont need them for aiming because nerf guns are inaccurate as hell

You could probably 3D print another drum, it's not really that different than a hammershot's cylinder.

I was totally thinking that exact thought watching this video yesterday. I am taking a class for that right now, and if someone would give me the dimensions, I could design a drum and send it to Drac.

Drac, I’ve been watching your content for a few years now. I do appreciate your desire to protect the consumer and I know that you approach your reviews strictly from a “competitive” view point (although I think this is something that could be more clearly noted to inform newer watchers) however I feel that you reviews have become more and more bitter of late.
I can sort of understand that it might be frustrating for you to see a company that I assume you love essentially “phoning it in” but I personally find it more and more difficult to make it through the reviews these last few months. You are a positive and valuable voice in the nerf community and I hope you can return to that positivity again.

I used mine in a war a few weeks ago and at first I found it performed OK but it started skipping darts on slam fire and ended up being a pain to use, don't think I'll be using it again. It's going on our target range I think.

My turbo advance has drum rotation issues, maybe I'll pick this guy up, slap a collapsible stock on it, see how I like it

i got the surgefire because it was a combo with a retaliator for a great orice which was too good to refuse
I’m disappointed with this blaster. I thought it would’ve been a $15 springer. Like you said it would’ve been cool 2 years ago (5 years imo) but $25 for this thing.. yikes.
I don't like it! The paint! What I do like is the N-STRIKE YELLOW. I loved that color thats why I love N-STRIKE BLASTERS SO MUCH. Cough cough Maverick,Recon,Nitefinder,OG Alapha Trooper cough cough. I think nerf should bring back the yellow color scheme on blasters. Why did nerf stop making yellow color blasters.

Watched this clip twice b4 buying but still bought it for my son cuz he insisted .. now i wanna return it ... hes happy with it but i see him struggling with reload and he doesnt knw there r many better things out in market than this
the turbo advance is 100 USD and the slamfire is 15 USD. I... prefer the slamfire.

Just to add some conjecture:
I have to say, looking at it from my perspective. It's a fantastic loaner gun. If I was handing this out to a cocky 10-14 year old who's going to be jumping over barricades, dropping the gun and smacking it against trees.
I don't own either this or the turbo advance, and I would happily have both of them in my loaner bin. The only real disadvantage of this over the TA is capacity. When a lot of my loaner bin is 6 shot revolvers, barricades, 4victories, Lanard tripleshot, and all that sort of thing, then the Surge Fire is still higher capacity, it's just the Turbo Advance has more.
It's sort of like saying "oh the jolt is terrible because the zuru tk3 holds more ammo".
Maybe even you're right, I wont know until I get hold of both of them. Which will probably be never.

the turbo advance is rare to find and usually sells for about £40 ($54!!) so it's a lot cheaper
It also is a lot shorter, can take attachments on top rail, and has a vertical pump handle which some people including me think is better
CoolConGaming you mean horizontal pump grip? Or are we talking about different blasters?
Zero Blade The surgefire, unlike the turbo advance has a vertical handle, as opposed to the turbo advances flat horizontal priming handle, and I find it easier to aim and make it more comfortable to hold when it's vertical

its a solid loaner because its impossible to jam, but its also hard to jam out with...maybe air guitar style?

I guess the next step of Hasbro will be a turboadvence with smart AR which can fire 40 dart in a row. but it will be a long time to come.

I really prefer springers to flywheels. I have several drumstyle blasters, like the maverick and disruptor, alpha hawk. This one fits perfectly in my collection. I agree, it is missing some features, like a stock attachment, but somehow the surefire appeals to me. Maybe I can find a way to attach my stockade stock to it, that would be perfect. Anyone has any tips on how to do that? I am definitely going to buy the surefire.

It’s an elite rotofury. Like finally. Shame that the turbo advance is so much better, it looks like a really reliable and simple and cool blaster.
So many 3d print options, like a button to press out the drum, and 3d printed compact drums...
I like the tiger stripe camo but i wish there was more painting/detailing instead of just orange/blue.
When I first saw the Surgefire, I thought it was slamfire only. Glad to see that it's not.
I took out the dart past it worked it shoots harder but not as straight do it with a full modification
i like the tiger stripes because of the originality but from a modders pov itd be a funky paint job. otherwise its a groovy blaster

Hey drac the news you said about the nerf guns for 2018 I think there making a bigger blaster than the nemesis it’s called the prometius MXVIII 20k which means it fires 200 balls

yes it is missing attatchment points yes that does mean other nerfers who dont mod wont be able to properly enjoy it but why does it have to mean YOU cant? your a MODDER it has a perfectly flat "stock" for you to use and the front of the blaster seems to have plenty of mounting space. for modders theres always attatchment points.
My brother bought this. I didn't like it so I bought a delta trooper. It's my primary right now.
Tiger stripe can be cool on some guns, I think that it looked good on this.
I love the tiger camo I therefore didn't remove it when I painted the blaster
I don't actually prefer either, the tiger stripes are cool but
I like this. I will probably get it. I think it is slightly weird because it seems like Hasbro just threw in some simple, cheap blaster that will keep the buyers interested between blasters. I like the simplicity, but is seems strange, considering other lines such as the zombie strike line that has so much details (not complaining though).

This is about half as good as the Turbo Advance, and you can buy it for one-forth the price, great deal. I'm not spending $100 dollars on the Turbo Advance.

I got the delta trooper and surgefire my delta trooper is not feeling well like if u try to shoot it it will get jammed alot

Why does everyone like the turbo advance so much it’s not that good the surgefire gets better performance, has a better handle, and it has slamfire. Also why is everyone saying that it sucks just cause it doesn’t have a stock attachment well guess what the turbo advance doesn’t either and the turbo advance also doesn’t have a stock or even slammfire. And price wise the sure fire has gone down to $18 and I’m highly sure that one day even $15 that’s almost half the price. Overall nerf guns are better there just more solid better. You just can’t compare a x shot with nerf cause the performance of x shot is the worst. Other offbrand nerf guns such as air warriors or dartzone get way better performance than x shot those are actually comparable to nerf. But screw it it’s nerf or nothin’
