Exactly the same reasons for why I want my sheaths like this... Kydex at some point will get grit in it and scratch the blade... Seems like a waste to me to sand to a high polish just to scratch it up. Thanks for doing this video!!!
At the same time I hate the retention of leather, but love the look. I actually started moving towards your idea of removing the majority of the clamshell just before finding the vid... Thanks for the confirmation I'm on the right track!
Glad its helping, I hope to have part 2 done in the next week or two. I am going to try and have it done before I leave for blade show west, but not sure if I will be able to have it done.
@@GaskillKnives looking forward to part two! Are you drilling to stitch through the kydex? Or just using Chicago screws through your existing rivets? That's my next great debate...
Fantastic product and how-to
Thanks brother
I can’t believe I just found your channel. Been loving your content on Instagram

@@travismurphy762 I am drilling and stitching.
@@GaskillKnives awesome, thanks!
You can line the inner kydex with leather and keep the retention to keep from scratching the knife
What thickness leather have you found to work best?
