That scene with Jason and Salim having a heart-to-heart is one of my favorite scenes in the game.

The turning point of the game. In my opinion there shouldn't be an option to say something different. People will miss the best convos and reactions to the moment, but that's when replayability comes in for a second playthrough

I was screaming the whole time abandoned Clarice and when you let her in I was like oh man, she's about to have her heart broken. Really looking forward to how you end this!
Same "No, no, no, listen to the people warning you . . ." and after she spent all that time trying to repair Rachel and Eric's relationship.
Same here. I havent played the game yet but if I was in that position I would initially save her then put her down the second chance I get to put her down just to try and save her initially. That is the only way to save Eric cause if you bring her with you he will always die no matter what you do.
@@liamwarner5749 see my first playthrough I actually brought he along and Jason shot her. 😭😭 When I tell you later on when I learned she killed Eric I was so happy he shot her. 😂😂
Oh don't worry, you're actually doing pretty well! The game really wants Eric dead for some reason, he got killed in like 90% of the playthroughs i've seen. But if you somehow keep him alive and save his relationship with Rachel, there's an alternative flashback that is like, infinitely better. Something tells me you in particular would absolutely love it because of a certain reference... anyway i definitely suggest you look it up ;)
haha exactly, I think the other cutscene makes a lot more sense than the one in Camp slayer + is infinitely better as you said, such a shame that Eric died in the playthrough! to be fair it is hard to save his relation with Rachel on a first try as you need to keep both of them alive

Curator had said that Eric cheated death before. So that's a sign that Eric is usually doomed.
@@quentindiaz9418 I don't think so, it's just a soothing excuse for his death, but you can save him of course instead of having Clarice bite him, if he cheated Death once, why not twice? ;)
@@raphaeljay4567 I could be mistaken, but i think there's a way of getting the other flashback while still having Eric killed by Clarice. It's just ultra rare because you have to do tons of very specific decisions to get there. But if you do a playthrough somewhat similar to Miranda's, where you don't cut the rope, maximize your relationship with Eric and choose the option to rescue him, even if he dies shortly afterwards, i think - but then again i don't know for sure - that if you say they should put things on ice to Nick at the beginning, then you'll get the Eric flashback. All i know for certain is that it's possible to get Eric killed and have Rachel reject Nick afterwards, and the beginning dialogue decision with Nick is crucial here :)
the Nick, Eric, Rach triangle felt weird... like, deciding for them, when I have no idea what they actually want.... I can do vampire creatures, witches etc... but other people's relationships are none of my business :D

I do wish you'd gotten the flashback scene with Eric and Rachel, instead of Nick and Rachel. That one made me go "O.O" - you should totally check it out afterwards!

I somehow got the best ending possible playing this the first time and saved everyone. Wish you would’ve saved Eric he has an amazing flashback and great moments later on

Last episode when you put those explosives on the sides of the corridor rather than the centre, I thought, "I wonder if she'll remember where she put them later". And ... you didn't, but you lucked your way through anyway! Hah :D Great job! ;)
I like making Jason and Salim bicker because there's a lot of certain tension 😏 they hate each other, but also love each other in the best possible way. Their friendship is the only thing I live for in this game ☺️😍

With how adamant you were to saving Clarice, I was sure you were going to be killing Eric. If you don't abandon or kill Clarice before the whole fight in the tombs, Clarice kills Eric. It's probably the most common and easiest way for to Eric die in these let's plays. I think a lot of players think maybe some of the side characters can live, kind of how you can save one of the pirates in Man of Medan. However, in House of Ashes, all the side characters (Joey, Dar, Clarice, and Merwin) die no mater what you do, but you choices determine when and how some of them die. In this Dark Anthology game, only the main five can be saved.

@@TheMirandalorian I think I got lucky in my own play through when it came to saving Eric from this fate. I must have made different dialogue choices when Clarice and Rachel were alone, because when I threw the rope to Clarice, she threw the rope back and didn’t swing over. So, I didn’t have to choose whether I should kill her or not, Clarice chose for me.
@@BruceGiffordJustMyOpinion When you talk to Clarice before you swing over she asks you something like "will I make it?" and if you choose "it doesn't look good" then she'll choose to stay behind. :) Alternatively, you can also mess up the QTE when swinging over with Rachel to get a third outcome. :D
@@missmara4980 That sounds right. I remember playing Rachel as being more realistic about the situation. I’m sure I chose to say it didn’t look good. My first play through was a few months ago. I’m Currently replaying all the games in celebration for The Quarry. Replayed Until Dawn, finished getting all the trophies for Man of Medan and Little Hope, currently 68% of the way of getting all the trophies for House of Ashes with my second playthrough.
@@BruceGiffordJustMyOpinion Haha I hate love triangles so I (unsuccessfully) tried to break up with both Nick and Eric, and then ended up killing Rachel. I guess that's one way to solve it. 😂 Love watching other people play Supermassive games, but Little Hope is way too jump-scary for my taste, and Until Dawn too bloody. I'll still have a look at the Quarry when it releases but if there's talk of taking off limbs then I'm out.

The biggest mistake was to tried help Clarice. You had to leave her on the rope scene without swinging the rope back to her. In this way you can save all 5 chars and bring them out alive and get the golden ticket. I really hope you let not Jason die. He is my favorite boy hehe 😊 BTW, it's so funny to hear you scream my dear 😁
I think you can save them all even if you shoot Clarice the second chance you get

To be fair you did read the book and foresee through the tablets.
So you should have caught on that the one girl wasn’t going to make it.
And yeah Im a firm believer in “nobody gets left behind” and trying to save as many as possible.
But when you knew through that journal entry that there was no stopping someone that was turning once that dark spit from the demons entered their bloodstream; then that would have given you the sign to leave her behind after bringing her up to everyone.right before that ambush.
You probably would have saved everybody that you had left at that point if you left her behind.
I don't think "vampires" is what these creatures are, they're more like demons than vampires.

It depends! This game didn't make me jump as much as little hope
I really just hate how this game punishes you for trying to save any of the non player characters. Don't get Marwin killed? Eric dies. Don't wanna yeet your wife off a cliff to save yourself? Eric dies. Don't wanna abandon/shoot the infected soldier that just saved your life? Eric dies. It's such bullcrap. In every other game, the selfless acts are the good ones that pay off in the end, but this one screws you over for trying to be a good person. I picked up the medkit, I had the UV wand, I had a premonition of Rachel disarming Jacob when he was gonna shoot Clarice, so I thought for sure the game was pointing me being able to save her. But naaaah. And to insult to injury, you CAN use the UV wand on Rachel when she's turning later.

Woah... you did NOT just do Jason like that. I'm so pis*ed now at reading that. He's not 🧍♂️ If anything, he's the second best character in the game. His friendship with Salim makes it worthwhile. He's hot and flirty with a sailor's mouth and a soft spot for Salim.. seriously. You make the other characters sound so much better for some reason, which I'm genuinely curious about.
