Here it looks like Geordi is unintentionally stunned at Worf and Raffi’s blunders, and it looks like it was intentional that way, even though it wasn’t.
@@curtisharvey2330 The Kuleshov effect is a thing in film where if you show two shots back to back, your audience will reflexively connect them contextually. Most famously demonstrated in the classic surrealistic short film "Un Chien Andalou".
It's a fine Star Trek tradition for the actors who play the most stoic characters to be the biggest cut-ups. Michael Dorn, Tim Russ, and Brent Spiner are all well known for their antics!
I'm just saying, dude, this channel keeps my Paramount Plus subscription alive. And this should be a special watching feature on the blu-rays! Just simply select the outtake track and then you're good to go! I love these edits!!!
After enduring a firefight, Worf and Raffi both needed a drink. Of course, it turned into a case. You know Worf is drunk when he smiles, laughs and says 'sorry.' A sober Klingon never turns into a Canadian. (Even though both have more in common than people think)
Nice work, but this clip is all I’ve seen of the new series and reinforces why I don’t have any desire to. Someone needs to tell the new filmmakers to turn the goddamn lights on!
It’s a new trend that I hope dies out soon. Almost everything sci-fi and horror is shot so darkly. It’s supposed to be gritty and real, but it’s just tough on the eyes and depressing overall.

They gotta move the camera while somebody is standing at a console pressing buttons and talking, on a ship just sitting there in space. It is pretty weak.
"We've been drinking" is probably the most in-character response for Raffi.
This transporter plattform has no honor
It sneakily beamed metabolized alcohol into his blood stream. Devious, really.
Cowards look down when stepping off of platforms, Klingons do not.

We've been drinking.
It was... green.
Geordi's "You rascals!" smirk at the end is what sells it.
Mr. Burton providing a wonderful demonstration of the Kuleshov effect here.
Who?

@@tmage23 Yeah. It's honestly something that seems so obvious today that it seems weird it had to be discovered, let alone get a special name.
Drinking something other than prune juice, eh, Worf?
"A warrior's drink!" 🍷

“It _is.”_
@@man_in_space then it should be more illegal
Thank you - was waiting for that response!

Too much blood wine me thinks
Dorn intakes are some of my favourites, he just seems like such a lovely fellow! Or I'm contrasting him too hard with Worf but w/e, I enjoy these!
No, he seems like a really great guy, which I unfortunately only realized recently after seeing him in some interviews and stuff.

Old Man Worf.
Old Man's Worf
Worf isn't that old. Klingons have 200 year lifespans.

Had to watch that a few times 😂
Worf: Do not assume what I have and haven't been doing! We've been drinking.
Too much chamomile
What was in that prune juice?

A little drink that had a little trip.

And also have a moment with each scene, jfc, in just a 38 second clip we jumped to 5 different scene with less than 5 words for each of them.
Prune juice does have its side effects....
ha!
To be fair, when has Raffi NOT been drinking?
"Elderly man having difficulty walking is funny!" Am I turning into Mike Stoklasa?
"I am *not* an old man!"
The scenes are so dark, I couldn't even tell it was Worf until the end. It just looked like the Klingon judge in Undiscovered Country.
when, in fact, Worf was the defense attorney

I just can't get immersion watching Geordi now knowing he's not played by a 100% black man. Seems offensive.
