I thought about doing this for so long, so seeing you guys do this is great, and went to my expectations honestly. It really doesn't seem like a bad idea to smack finger board grip tape on as long as you skate indoors maybe or can genuinely take care of the skateboard and keep the grip tape clean enough
Keep up the awesome content I skateboarded my whole childhood up until I was about 20 years old and then I quit for a while getting caught up with work and life, but you guys have really got me back into skating even got a new board recently and started practicing again.
What are you like 25 now?
@@dieseldabz7104 I’m 29 so I haven’t skated in like 10 years but I can still do all my tricks just not every time like I used to do tricks I’d say 7/10 tries but now it’s closer to 5/10 tries and they aren’t as clean but I’m getting there I landed a few really solid fakie big flips today.
I'm sure you guys have already sorted out the whole cable handles situation by now, but I have a solution that I'd like to propose.
-Mount a stainless-steel screw eye about 7-8ft up on the wall that leads to the vert room.
-Tie a long rope to the end of the cable handles hanging from the ceiling.
-Thread the other end of the rope, that is tied to the handles, through the screw eye mounted on the wall.
-Pull the rope until the handles are out of the way.
-When you want to use the handles again lower the rope and untie the hand holds, leaving the rope threaded through the screw eye for future use.

What trick did you decide on?
I’ve thought about using that material to stick on the bottom of the baseplate as a shock pad. Just like my old phantom trucks used to have back in the day.
use 3m one sided foam tape. it's firmer and will absorb shock for real. this fingerboard tape is very malleable and will flatten completely under the weight of a child's feet, even. i have used that 3m foam as homemade risers before, they also flatten, but retain some form.
You could probably contact a company that makes the fingerboard grip and have them send you a sheet of it uncut, or cut in the right size for a full deck

What if you guys did like a sort of ranking battle of different skateboard gear.
For example, you get together some of the best known truck companies and you pit them against each in different tests like grinding, turning, durability etc. it goes on until only two remain for a final showdown of the “best” trucks.
Could use some smoothing out haha, but would be cool to do with wheels, decks, grip etc.
I havent watched the video yet, but i have ALWAYS thought about doing this and you made my dream a reality, thank you

Is it me or does every one of these guys feel like your boy thats actually in your life. They all have that it factor that makes them inviting and wanna wanna hangout with them and just go get a Jamba after a hard session of a persistence! I'd love to be the revival of the persistence videos. I'm so beginner and 31 so it'd be a cool story line to make me an elite skater by following skateboarding made simple and maybe learn from the team or aaron a few times. That'd be a dream. I'm working on bs 180s and kickflips mostly treflip seems to be the one I'll land first I land the bs180 just can't rotate fully and roll away. Working hard tho thank you you guys for inspiring peo0le daily not to pick up a skateboard. We ain't just here for the skating we are here cuz of the energy and life lessons too
Have you guys looked into the Santa Cruz First Timer board? its a deck that comes with two sets of truck mounting holes: a set on the tail and nose and a set on the bottom of the board. It's made to swap from being a cruiser for learning balance and board confidence to a trick board for learning to skate.

I don’t know what you guys use out in California , but here in New Jersey we use ez pass . And I think you should grip a board with ez pass tape Velcro and put the other part of the Velcro tape on the bottom of shoes ,, (3m E-ZPass Velcro to be exact)Velcro tape grip board shoes .. that stuff really sticks. Hey everyone so I have a hot take: 200 grit sandpaper with a very strong glue is the best thing in the world for a grip job. I've been skating since 2002 and I can tell you 95% of griptapes are just too coarse and end up doing more damage (literally) than helping.
The sandpaper will NOT wear out your shoes. Or at least they will last twice as long, YET it'll still be grippy enough so that you never slide out BUT it has a certain give, as Gabe mentioned, so that your feet slide easily through the board, wich makes every flip trick extra smooth.
So yeah y'all should try it
i was literally thinking about this today and said, “why dont we have a lower grit for grip tape so we dont destroy our shoe?!” That seems like a gold mine just waiting to be struck.
Unfortunately, many have drifted away from lower grits, claiming that the grippier the better. I think grippiness is an overrated feature of the skateboard. Except for transition

How about making a guitar case skateboard? Maybe get one that's rectangular like for an electric guitar, then close the case and put something on the fasteners to help it stay closed, and then you can put hardware and trucks on it that will also help it stay closed.

So like, pro finger boards are made out of pressed vaneer instead of ply because its thinner.
So make a full sized fingerboard, aka a skateboard made from epoxy pressed vaneer

I have a set of strange wheels that have a notch cut all the way around the whole wheel they are also very small I would say in the 20 to 30mm range I sent you a picture let me know if you want to skate them? Very strange wheels I am 53 and have never seen these before, anyway let me know.
I would love to see you guys put inline wheels on a board. Also some inline anti rocker wheels could be interesting

So an older head I talked to said he used to dip his board and let it soak over night in honey and it gained natural grip. Never got to try it but it seems interesting.

you should now use fingerboard ducky tape (see through) it is a lot different its not soft its like stickyish its a weird filling doknow how to disrcibe it its also a lot more durable
