If a President decides to get out and walk the Secret Service can't stop him. They can only take control if shots are fired. Years ago, on Veterans Day, President Regan spoke to me for a minute or so at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I am not generally a Republican voter, but for me it was one of the most powerful moments of my life. President Regan was such a class act and conducted himself with great dignity. These clips of President Obama interacting with ordinary citizens such as myself evokes those memories for me in a powerful way. We are fortunate as Americans to have had people of their caliber as our Presidents. What a contrast to the man who how’s holds that office.

You can't, for example, take it overnight to your girlfriend or boyfriend's home. You cannot buy or bring assault weapons into the district, and .50 BMG are also prohibited. Not magazines that hole more than 10 rounds are allowed. No concealed carry permits. Open carry is prohibited. No Automatic firearms are permitted in the district. All gun owners must follow the Firearms Control Regulations Act of 1975. People can only keep handguns in their homes if they follow very severe rules. Only residents who live in Washington D.C. can have and own firearms. BTW Congress controls Washington, D.C., so these laws were passed by Congress (including Republicans). The reason. The Conservative members of Congress may shout that they hate gun control, but not in their backyard. They have created the strictest gun control in the country for where they work. You cannot under any circumstances carry a gun around in the open or into a business. Felony to do so.
When the American Spring where tens of people came, they were told to leave their guns at home. If they had brought guns into Washington, D.C., the guns would have been confiscated. Strictest gun control in the country.

Not necessarily. Remember during Jimmy Carter's Inaugural he stopped the motorcade and he and his wife got out and walked. It was unplanned. Gave the Secret Service apoplexy.
If a President decides to get out and walk the Secret Service can't stop him. They can only take control if shots are fired. I'm sure the Presidential bomb-proof SUV was following just a few feet behind, and the Secret Service immediately deployed people to the tops of buildings.
Up until a judge's recent, no one was allowed to carry a firearm in Washington, D.C. This made the city relatively safe. If you were going to be robbed it was at knife point, not gun point. You went to jail if you carried a firearm. But a judge recently ruled that the 2nd Amendment guaranteed that people could open carry any weapons they want, and as many weapons as they wanted. Washington, D.C. has become a lot less safe.
Sounds like a great idea to me. We have supermarkets, we no longer have to hunt and gather. And somehow I've managed to go to restaurants all my life without having to take a weapon to protect me.
