    This game definitely looks like a brain breaker [ 23:29 ]. Can't wait to get it! Thanks for the fun playthrough. I think it will be a bit before I can get all the dice combos down, but I'm sure looking forward to trying.

    I speak English and Spanish, but would love to learn Swahili and/or Arabic. So excited for this game, despite how complex the dice and worker color combos sounds. I also NEED to play me some more Wayfarers before this arrives on my doorstep in Bend, OR.

    I speak Danish (and understands Sweedish and Norwegian) and also speaks English an German. I had Russian back in high-school but really don't remember any of that.

    Ich spreche deutsch und auch ein bisschen englisch.
    Es macht mir so viel Spaß eure Videos zu schauen!
    Wir wollen nächste Woche das Spiel "Gelehrte des Südtigris" spielen. Und dieses Video hat mir dabei geholfen das Spiel besser zu verstehen.
    Und zwischendurch immer so witzige Kommentare von euch. Richtig unterhaltsam.

      P.S. I love Wayfarers; was my most played game last year.
      P.P.S. I speak English and French fluently and know some scattered words and phrases in Dutch and Hebrew. Can often understand Spanish or Italian because of French.

    This game looks great! I love the color wheel implementation. I'm nervous how heavy the solo mode might be.

    I'm less intimidated by this than wayfarers, although I'll be interested to watch the solo play since that'll be how I play it. Such an interesting game! As for languages I can speak, I have a native-speaking-toddler-level Spanish vocabulary. The more I considered that, the more American I felt ... I have always wanted to learn sign language.

    I speak Norwegian (and obviously English as well), I took French for five years, but sadly never got proficient enough to use it, I can say couple of sentences and count, lol - I've been told my French pronounciation is good though, so I have at least that, lol. Other than that I learned to count to 10 or more in a few languages (German, Italian, Japanese and Thamil)

    I speak English and Bosnian, but when I write CVs I say that I also speak Serbian, Croatian, and Montenegrin as well since they're all so similar to Bosnian!

    Just got mine in the mail last week. Looking forward to playing it. Seems like a lot going on...how did they not include a scoresheet for keeping score??!! a lot of points to add up at the end.

      Definitely make use of the Garphill app. they have scoring stuff for each of their games. Really useful

    This looks great! It's a shame that Nick kept forgetting to take the research bump from translating, definitely lost some end game points and must have hurt his resources during the game.
    I'm a native English speaker, but also speak a bit of Dutch, Greek, French and German. And I learnt to read Ancient Babylonian in grad school. Having moved to the US a couple of years ago I'm planning to get started on Spanish soon!

    The south trilogy brought the dice as the main thing, were in the West was the a lot of workers, and the North the strange very few workers, what you guys think the East is going to have different?

    I have a question: when there is the possibility of retiring a translator, do you only choose one on which you have placed your influence marker or can I choose any other translator ready to retire?

      I believe that at the end of your turn, any translators who have all their gold for retirement will retire

    At 13:36 Mike takes a bump on the green track despite playing a blue die, I believe you're online supposed to bump on the same trick of the die you played right?

    When you travel and put a scroll onto the board, you only earn the reputation and gold, not the bottom effect.. that only happens if someone translates it

      Nope per the rules you get to bump the research track when you bring it to the house of wisdom. At least in the rulebook we have.

    Seems very ap prone with all the color / number changing and chaining actions. Is this game more or less elegant than wayfarers?

      They're honestly very different games. This game is far more linear whereas Wayfarers is more open ended. Wayfarers is harder to teach but not as heavy

    I would like to learn Japanese. I have a friend that came here for work in 2019, but his contract ends next month and he will be going back home. It is my goal to go visit him and his wife when I finish my degree. Why go back to school to be a teacher if you don't travel during summer break, right?!

    MIKE, U have 3 points more, in the last turn the translator should retiring. Languages: Dutch, German and English.
    At the end all gold on your translators return if they did not retire, so Nick might have had an extra point.
