Hardfacing a chip bowl using laser cladding

With the increasing concern over toxic wastes produced by hard chroming, there is a strong drive around the world to replace chroming processes with “clean” technologies. One solution - laser cladding. This video shows our laser cladding technology to hardface a chip bowl for metal chip processing systems. These chip bowls were previously sent out for hard chroming. With laser cladding, hardness results are coming in around 68-72 HRC.
