    • @Endershock1678
      @Endershock1678 3 часа назад

      The analogy I always use when talking about GOAT is think of every interaction you have as a hand trap and multiple turns as a one turn. You can't just be a blind caveman firing your Raigeki and summoning BLS, or you're gonna end up like you Ash'd the Reinoheart just for them to slam down Grief. You need to think through your lines, read what's in their hand, and find the optimal time to use your interactions to stop their momentum.

      To be fair he did have some really nice ideas for the plays in Farfa’s game that could’ve given him more of an edge. Tsukuyomi would’ve been tributed for Parshath which either nets them an extra card or gets outed and BLS can hit the board which would’ve turned that into a whole other game. The fact he didn’t Breaker the Mirror Force was odd because at that point there’s no reason not to. I think he opted not to because Farfa said there was a world where he just beats over the set but I could be wrong.

    • @NovusIgnis
      @NovusIgnis 7 часов назад +9

      His ways are perfectly fine. Seereax has beaten Pak, Jesse, Sam, and Cimmoo all in Goat format. It's true he might not be up to date on the latest goat format strategies, but he absolutely can hold hsi own in the format. What doesn't help is when you have other people on your ear telling you how to play *your* deck. This would mess with anyone's head in a competitive setting. You even saw the stress eat away at Gage when he was playing until they started making critical mistakes.

    • @aiou_61
      @aiou_61 6 часов назад +5

      @@NovusIgnis gage being stressed was warranted tht starting hand was without a doubt one of the worse starting hand you could have gotten with the deck and his next few draws before noc was also quite impressively does nothing. I'm sure seereax is an entertaining/good duelist ( i really do that parshaft idea was interesting and him pointing out tsukuyomis effect was also a sign of a person who actually reads lol) but him looking down at the format was what costed them the game not the backseating (and mostly the deck building really should have asked more advice on tht part)

    • @NovusIgnis
      @NovusIgnis 6 часов назад +6

      @aiou_61 He doesn't look down on the format though. He was looking down on this particular style, where he isn't playing against another duelist, he just has the controls but it's his team versus their team. How the format should have been was both duelists get to play a normal game with normal time and their teammates are quiet so the players can actually focus. And then if they want to run an idea or a play by their team, only with the player's permission can the council weigh in.
      Everyone's commenting on Gage and MBT running through all the plays and possibilities but Seereax literally does the same thing in his Goat format videos. It just doesn't take him early as long because he's not running all of his plays by a committee.
      That's what really killed the mood this time, is no one person was playing any of these games, it was an entire team playing and that is not how this is designed to be.
      As for their decks, I agree that Seereax's deck was outdated into terms of the most recent theory and so on, but literally so was Farfa and Probably Ruxin's. They all designed their decks by committee too. It just so happens that MBT and Gage have played "official" goat format mroe recently than the other team so they had a leg up on strategy.

    • @aiou_61
      @aiou_61 6 часов назад +5

      @@NovusIgnis I agree that the team play definitely killed the mood and the decks that team farfa had (which we can never see the entirety of expect for seereax) was quite outdated based on what we saw and I don't watch seereax personally so you can cmiiw but he doesn't seem to actually care wht cards that the other player is playing, he plays in a way that seems adapt and overcome ( if that happens I'll figure it out with wht I can draw and what I have ) rather then looking at it as a solved game like Ruxin has ( if this happens what can we do with what we have right now? And do we have something for the worse and the best outcomes? ) which Is definitely more goat format then the adapt and overcome attitude which is more in tune with playground ygo
      I agree tho the games should have been individual duels without the other discussing the play with maybe a time out in between to discuss steategies or something lol ( no offense to paul but tht was gage and mbt playing rather then Paul playing )
      Time wise cimoo gave 900 seconds for them to discuss plays and they were meant to use that time to discuss the plays tht they should have made, team gage using what was given to them is not an advantage, team farfa not using it is a disadvantage (not sure if it's true but apparently goat format doendt have a time limit lol)

Since you can dump as many thousand as you want with wall, there's not actually an incentive to be low at any other point in the duel, and keeping yourself high until you're ready to win just means you stay safe from their burn stuff. yea well too bad gage had assailants and dekoichi to make him plus like crazy from those repeated graceful activations.
      without resolving graceful so many times gage wouldnt have had all the board breakers and interactives to clean up until another ten or so turns.

      Honestly considering the deck he had he have to breaker the mirror force and he could have gotten a win.
      To illustrate had he breaker the mirror force the outcome could have been
      - breaker attack train set mof
      - gage set mof pass ( the other play is card Des which probably would definitely change the game into an unpredictable one but let's consider he is saving it because of bls on hand )
      - seereax mof effect get noble man use noble man attack for 1900 gage lp (2300) book mof
      - gage draw upstart to graceful and to and insane hand of tsukuyomi/sorc/thunder dragon regardless of wht he drops he will have to summon either sorc or bls to clear the board / banish the board but regardless would have been meaningless since seereax next draw was snatch steal and he would have taken game no matter wht
      This is not considering the hand destruction before noc because the whole deck order would have been different thts why it's a "could have"
      And "considering the deck he had" he just played a pretty bad deck with bls/breaker/sorc/thousand eyes as his best monsters (like really mimic lvl1?) had the cards drawn been different once breaker leaves the field he had to pray to get bls/sorc/thousand eyes on the field while also needing gage to brick every single draw he have

    I have no idea why this guy let them grace through their entire deck. You were in a lose lose situation, might as well make SOMETHING of it!

      You have a finite number of outs and win conditions on your deck. Generally speaking, "playing to your outs" means sequencing your plays in a way that sacrifices as few of your paths to victory as possible. Using one of your outs to stop a net neutral value engine when it could instead be used instead to either secure your win condition or out your opponent's win condition is not an automatic choice.
      Hope this helps you understand why someone might not choose to shut down the value engine play that doesn't progress the board state or pose a threat. Sometimes stopping the value engine is the right play. Sometimes its not. In this case, knowing what we know now, we know for a fact that it didn't matter.

      @@dontmisunderstand6041 exactly the only reason why it's a seen as a bad play now is cause of the hindsight of all those bad draws. Even if it was stopped nothing guarantees that you win that duel regardless. Nim did seem to have the better Even without the free draws but it would of probably been a longer and closer duel

    Man, Cimo, how do you keep coming up with these amazing ideas? This was truly entertaining and gage and mbt showcased that goat format has much more depth than one might believe at first glance (I had no idea). Thank you for all the great content you provide us.

    I love watching these, it truly is my most anticipated series in RUclips right now. I may think some players are annoying but that really just adds to the spice of the game. Keep it up fellas
