  • Tom Brady is one of the most competitive players in the NFL. During Brady’s 20 years in the league, there are legendary stories of his competitiveness, whether it’s his supreme self-confidence, desire to win, or hatred of losing. Brady also thrives off competition and relishes in hard work and preparation. Across the league, there are tales of Brady’s intense desire to win, temper tantrums when he loses, and extreme self-confidence. At 42 years old, Brady isn’t one of the players that seems to have lost his desire to compete - he seems to enjoy it more than ever. He doesn’t take losing well. He has admitted that he has to work on his body language so as not to be too hard on his teammates. On the surface Brady makes it look easy. He is always calm and in control, except when he’s “correcting” his teammates for a missed route, or stoking them on the sidelines with his loud exhortations. A father of three, Brady is married to Giselle Bundchen, an accomplished entrepreneur and model. Easy, peasy! What we don’t see the rigorous workout regime he maintains year-round, along with his TB12 diet, supplemented by copious amounts of water. Okay, he’s quirky, but there is one part of him that has been sometimes overlooked--his relationship with his teammates. In practice, you'll hear Brady telling wide receiver Scotty Miller to pump his arms more and Justin Watson that he's too stiff in his routes and needs to be more fluid with his upper body. In the film room, he's helping defensive backs like Sean Murphy-Bunting understand how to better disguise their coverages. It's a mix of constructive feedback and positivity that trickles into meeting rooms, where he tells receivers to shave a step or two off their routes or to bend them.
