Why does nobody talk about waterproofing? I want everything about this, but concerned about the 1 atm rating since I live on a lake and fly fish on the rivers near me.
I like this antenna because it performs well, It's made in the USA, and It doesn't get in my face much like the longer ones. I don't think it gives more distance than the extended antenna's but it does very well.
Hey quick question, does this gps have a proximity feature? Like can I add a waypoint and put a radius around the waypoint and will it show a circle around the waypoint so I can stay within a certain amount of distance away from the waypoint?
There are proximity alerts but they are set up to alert you when you are getting close to a waypoint/location. It does not project anything on the map as far as a radius.
@@DoubleUHuntingSupply right on braddah thank you. As long as the tracking and training works I’m okay with that. I still use the astro and wanted to upgrade but wasn’t sure on that aspect 🤙
So can the 300 battery go in the 200i to make the battery life on that last longer aswell or is it the built in features on the 300 that make it last longer?
The batteries for the 300 and 200 are the same battery, The battery life is from the 300 and how it conserves power to extend the life. Switching batteries will not make any difference.
@@DoubleUHuntingSupply Thank you for the response! Can you please double check? I think all inReach Devices can not use GLONASS, and the Alpha may be GPS And Galileo Only.
If I have an alpha and my buddy does too can they show where other hunters are or just collars? I need dog dot on my GPS but standard all maps, markups, etc. on onx and these units are garbage maps compared to cell+tablet+laptop capabilities. I have a GPSMAP10 in my boat and end up using onx more than the inaccurate, slow nav stuff in Garmin... For a device which costs as much as a modern flagship cell phone, you'd expect it to be flawless and perform as good or better than onx on a cell phone.
It is not listed as a compatible device on Garmin's website however the Tactix 7 is compatible with previous models. I would recommend reaching out to Garmin for an answer on that one. The Tactix 7 is not something that we carry or have any experience with.
@@remi1213 if you want the built in Inreach technology you will want to go with the "I" version as the standard 300 will be tracking and training only.

Can you use a topo sd card instead of subscribe to the $49 garmin yearly in the 300i model? And is there any down side to doing this ?
You sure can.
if two people have a 300i can they communicate between each if they are out hunting in an area with no cell service?
Yes, they can send messages inreach to inreach as well as send the factory preset messages if the handhelds are within vhf range.
What antenna were you using in the video and why?

My hunting club all has Astros. Am I able to connect with them and their dogs collars?
it would depend on what model of Astro handheld they are using.

What is the largest Micro SD card that will work in this?
We would recommend using a 32g or less on Garmin products
Can the buttons navigate the handheld Incase the touchscreen gets wet when raining?
Select functions such as navigating the training features can be done with the buttons however not all features can be accessed.

Which satellite constellations can the 300 use? GPS + GLONASS only, or also Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, etc?
The 300 uses GPS + GLONASS, the Inreach version also relies on Iridium satellites

Yes you can pair handhelds together and track them just like a collar.

Does the 300 work with drivetrack 71?
Yes it does.
Do they work in Ireland
These are the North American version. We are unsure if they will work outside of North America.

Both units will be very similar in range
Does it have bark detection
Yes it does
Does it have E-Fence capabilities?
It has a geo fence but it will not contain or send corrections to the dog. It will alert the user that the dog left the geo fence
Same ? Here
