They won’t be. They’re already doing manual work for it. It’s the classic government blunder. Automation until no funds. Then hand jam the rest. I do wish them the best and hope they can keep moving forward.
I was at your farm this last Sunday on my annual trip to Lancaster. It was quite a site to see those three gleaming silo roofs as I came over the hill on 322 from blue ball. Your videos don't do the farm the justice. The buildings are so much bigger than they appear in the videos. I was always was sure the rented heifer barn was on the same side of the road. What a beautiful set up and your new house is gorgeous. I'm so impressed and wish I was 50 years younger and could have the same. Thanks for all the enjoyment I get with your videos.😊
Go ahead and take all the time you need to learn the new system before trying to explain it to us. We are here when you are ready.Looking forward to the next video to see how you are doing. Thanks.
I’d love to sit in on a “future farming” brainstorming meeting with you and Dad. Y’all have impressively set your farm up for the future. I think we’re all as excited as you are!
I may have said this already, but wherever Rube Golberg is, he is having a great time watching your conglomeration of chutes, tubes and conveyor belts. Its really great! In two years, you'll be watching this equipment working and wonder how you ever did without it all. 🤠🤠
Find the best spot for the hay wagon and don't move it. Use the feed conveyor (Zimmerman) that is in the robot room to load hay in the hay wagon in the barn. The Kubota can just dump the haw in the conveyor whenever you need to fill the wagon.
Gotta say the suspense has got me on the edge of my seat... I can only imagine how you are feeling. I think its going to be so cool to see the whole thing all up and running. The bugs will get worked out with a bit of time and practice.
CONGRATULATIONS on successfully putting all of components together. Everything looks really great! Maybe you should have a cold bottle of chocolate milk on hand to celebrate the launch of the feeding robots! 😊
I’m a former dairy farmer in Georgia. Milked about 300 cows in the late 1990’s when we went of business. Technology has sure changed. New silos are a big upgrade over the ones we had built in the 60s. We TMR with mixing wagons but never dreamed of robots feeding. Good luck! I’ll be looking for more videos!
I'm excited to see it all come together for myself and all of you at the farm as well. This technology is akin to the first big tractors and combines in the day. A big step forward. Cheers 🇨🇦
WOW, it's exciting. Must be gratifying to see the pieces working as expected. These are epic days! I admire you and your father for your skill and intelligence to move forward with robot feeders, leaving you guys just a little more time to worry about the farming side. Just amazed that this is all required so I can put a little 50-50 in my coffee. Thanks
Good luck to you guys on Monday 8:32 you've done a lot of great work I'm sure there'll be some kinks along the way but you and your pop fix it can't wait to see the rest of the videos
Will love to see it all come together. with so many farmers going to ag bags and bunkers, it will be different to see you put up the three 132s and have the Robots running around
Big credit to your dad for letting you go ahead with this project and supporting you getting it done. A lot of folk in his generation would pushback against the technology and try to cling to old ways. Before you start, it would be interesting to hear your dad's comments on how he thinks it will turn out. How excited is he vs how nervous. Then, interview him again about it in a few months. I'm sure you're are going to have some issues when you first start. E.g. one component of the feed mix getting blocked or plugged and then messing up the ration. However, you've clearly been working hard to try to avoid those kinds of issues with the design. I'd guess once it's running then it's going to be more consistent feed compared to the manual way and a lot less work. It will just take some time to work out the bugs. My advice is if you do run into some issue, try to put in place a really solid fix so that the issue is unlikely to re-occur.
looking good Eric hopefully this all works out for you and your dad can't wait to see it work , another new technology for farmers , good luck guys, very impressive
A lot of concrete Redi mix plants sell blocks that are 2 foot tall by 2 foot wide 3,4 or 6 foot long. they would work good to build a wall where you fill the dry hay wagon.
@@phil6465 a mirror low-tech and does not require power. You then also have to think about where to mount the monitor provide that power as well. It would work but I think it's more work
It feels like a long time coming since you first mentioned going automated, I bet you can’t wait? You look like you’ve covered all bases so good luck for Monday, if you manage to get it working first time you’ll be overjoyed. I don’t think you’ll notice the benefit until the cold winter months but then, oh boy you’ll be loving life 😂😂 once you are happy with the self feeding you’ll need to look into the fully automated milking process 😂😂 love the videos ❤
First Eric....thanks to your dad(9th gen) and all the early risers who came before....to ensure the milk/dairy products floes...which kept/keep 🇺🇸 fed and healthy! Hope that he enjoys his well "earned" late sleep ins starting next week. He still deserves the "surprise" Clover Dairy chocolate milk...every now and then!👏👏👏👀
You could keep the mixer and throw whole bales in there and let it chop it for you. Have to see what the cost comparison is between hiring the chopper guy and expense on fuel and tractor wear and tear for grinding it yourself
Hello, maybe you should try to solve your hay box problem diffently. Make a trailer stationory and maybe bigger and make it so that the choper could fill it up, maybe less bales but more offten. Because filling up the trailer every couple of days is very time consuming you can utilize the space of the building if you alveys need space to back the trailer in. Great video as alvays.
Yea can't wait to see it work and work togethr..it looks really complicated so expect some corrections to make so it'll eventually work well. Don't worry Brian&Dad...we'll be praying all goes as well as HE wants
It's looking good. You'll have to debug that system for sure. I doubt it will take right off and run with no issues. Do they offer a brush that fits on the front to clean the track of debris as it goes... If not, it may be worth suggesting it to them. Just a thought. Anyway getting very interesting watching it come together. Good luck!!!
Excited to see how this project all comes together on Day One. Not to jinx anything, but would love to hear what your contingency plans/work-arounds are for feeding if any aspect of the automation breaks down in the future.
Have him fill the wagon when he chops your hay mabye? Try some pvc it will alow the hay to slide in them box's for you especially when it's COLD out.Been watching since the beginning and that's all I can suggest to help with clogs..
Love. It. Terrific series. Some may not like this, but automated systems with machines doing more of the work is here to stay and expanding quickly. Those who push for $25 (or more) minimum wage might as well ask for $250/hour as the jobs will disappear and robots will do it for cheap costs.
Take a good look at that feed mixer folks. Might be one of the last times we see it. I’ve been following so long I remember when Eric was running the smaller one. Ah! Those were more innocent times 😂
Can you explain to everyone again what the terms mean for the cows? (like fresh or dry and such) And maybe why they require a different food mixture. Thanks! Cant wait to see the robots in action. Im sure you and your dad will love the extra time you will have once they are up and running. Wake up in the morning and go to feed the..... wait, they are already fed!! Yay! got time for another cup of coffee!
Can’t wait to see how all the systems are going to work together and be automated
They won’t be. They’re already doing manual work for it.
It’s the classic government blunder. Automation until no funds. Then hand jam the rest.
I do wish them the best and hope they can keep moving forward.
@@R3mnarcsource? These system have had and still have amazing success on hundreds (if not thousands) of dairy farms all over the world
The fact that they have to load the hay wagon manually is not automated.
Source is the video. But I think you missed my point.

Very impressive what you built here, young man.
Wow l am so happy 😊 for you 🙏 Praise God. As a 85 year old woman, looking back at how we milked and feed our cows. You make it look so easy 😂
Put some parking blocks where tires end so you can get back in some space every time
Go ahead and take all the time you need to learn the new system before trying to explain it to us. We are here when you are ready.Looking forward to the next video to see how you are doing. Thanks.
Exciting days for your farm.

Such a treat to watch you every week. Never gets old

In 2 yrs you'll be asking wtf was I thinking...I could've had silage clamps and a high end mixer wagon
Very interesting! Very excited to see how it works...
Looks great looking forward to seeing the robots working
Eric the new system is awesome! Can’t wait for you to get it all set up. 👍👍👍👍
I grew up farming so I understand what you're doing. The fact that you stay with your family farmers awesome.
Find the best spot for the hay wagon and don't move it. Use the feed conveyor (Zimmerman) that is in the robot room to load hay in the hay wagon in the barn. The Kubota can just dump the haw in the conveyor whenever you need to fill the wagon.
That would be a 4 hour job gently dropping the hay on the conveyer a little at a time unrtil the wagon is full.....time saving was the goal i thought
I’ve watched your videos for the last couple years and I’m glad to see you guys growing and updating 🎉
Fantastic, Eric ! Bye from Italy 🇮🇹
It's gonna be an exciting day!! Great work!!
looks like a pretty good system, hope it works out for you and the farm
Your family keeps a amazing number of balls in the air at any one time. God Bless the Farmer!!

A very incredible time in history for your farm. Congrats guys!!!
Good luck on Monday, fingers crossed it'll be smooth sailing!!! But I'm confident you guys will figure it out in due time.
Please post the video online on Monday evening. I'm so excited.
Greetings from Bavaria, Germany.
I am happy for your families and your cows. It is quite a set up-looking forward to Monday’s video.

You guys have an awesome set up really enjoy your videos bud
Eric, I pray that God would strengthen your hands & mind for learning this system. I am excited as though I was there with you!

Looks to be going along nice the big day is about to happen.
Very excited to see the bots in action!
Good stuff excited for next videos

You could put a mirror up like they have in stores to see down the aisle to see around the hay wagon.

Good Luck! You will never be able to forget the old way because of all the videos you recorded.

Eric, I am happy for you. Have Faith, things are going to work well you have addressed everything, and it has to work. I wish you well.
Def looking forward to your next video!

Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🐄 Man!!!
Great video Eric. Thank y'all so much. Good luck Monday
You might want to look into getting a sweeper for the skid steer to clean the robot path from snow and dirt
It's looking good.
You'll have to debug that system for sure. I doubt it will take right off and run with no issues.

after the automated feeding system, the next step is automated milking system, good progress
Eric, pretty smooth set with you auto feeders. I hope you have a large generator in case storms come thru and knock your electricity out.
