I'm so thankful I live in New Zealand, it's just chill here, I can't imagine having to live in a place where I have to worry about putting gas in my car. I take my hat off to the vanlife community, you truly are some of the gutsiest people on the planet. Respect from New Zealand 🇳🇿
I ALWAYS lock my car when I pump my gas with my keys in my hand or clasped to my belt! and I am in clear sight but what a crazy thing! We just aren’t safe anymore unless we are vigilant!
After working in the security field for 20 plus years and being a former LEO. I know that you should always be aware of your surroundings. When I drive to a gas station I usually drive around the pumps, if possible. Before I decide which pump to stop at. This is a good video and there are many things that people can learn. Most importantly, ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings.
People lock your car doors, even just pumping gas. Keep watch all around you. Stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings. Stay safe. Do the best you can.
I love your simple eating, Lee! I do this myself. I have taken to buying raw, organic cheese from A2 cows at Azure Standard, a family owned company out of Oregon. The cheese brand is Origin Creamery. It's not the cheapest, but I swear it tastes the best of any cheddar I've had! Azure has truck routes all over the country, so you might find several "drops" that work for you. I love my local drop and have met several other people who care about quality food in my area.
Great video Lee. Also be careful when at your storage. Look behind you when entering in. I had a unmarked vehicle follow me in my storage a couple weeks ago. I didn't think too bad of it because people sometimes do this. But I went inside my storage but not for long. I came back to my van to put a few things away and to check my phone before I took off as I always do. I was sitting in the back of my van and this masked person opens my van door and is looking around then sees me in the back. Even if your parked and in your vehicle lock it ! Things are crazy and people are desperate. Be safe 🙏
Good information, especially while traveling during the holidays! This is also good advice when stopping at Rest Areas along interstates. Always be aware of who's around you!
In Australia it's common-sense to use rear vision mirrors, don't leave keys in ignition, lock your car when leaving it, lock doors when driving, can leave windows down if no air-conditioning, only take your eftpos card or cash to pay for fuel. Keep valuables behind seat, not on it.
Hi Lee Hope you are having a good day today. You have to be aware of your surroundings. Always, no matter what or where you are. Great video. That's something I always do.
I totally here you on the car key thing! We all need to increase our awareness triple fold because oportunests and desprite people are always watching and waiting for an opportunity and we need to be prepared just in case 👍hope for the best, plan for the worst! and pray Jesus touches peoples hearts!!! Good show Lee 👍🙏😀
I was warned by a Female Baltimore City Police Officer about being aware of My situation at all times Many Moons Ago.I am Grateful for Her.I Pray for Your Protection.🙏♥️💯It's Important to Be Alert.Pay Attention.Great Advice!Thank You♥️💯⚘️
Better to be safe than sorry!.. and I have to really keep a watch on myself because of having a history of some bad decisions that I continue to try to realize that there is much to learn about all my actions
I messed up a few weeks ago. I was in the parking lot of a shopping center. I put my dog food I had just purchased in my truck and with my purse. I took the shopping cart back only a few yards away. I didn’t realize my wallet was missing until the next day because someone apparently opened the door reached in my purse and took the wallet. Left the purse. people are sitting in their cars in parking lots watching and waiting for someone like me to forget to lock the door even for 20 seconds.
Another tip is to look around before you get out your car. Are there people hanging around outside the store? Are there bars on the windows? Is the area well lit? Does the place look dirty or unclean? If so, leave and go somewhere else.
I don’t travel alone. Roger is with me but he is in a wheelchair in our w/c accessible van. That might make me a target since he wouldn’t be able to assist me. This is great information. Thank you!
I slept at rest stop in Texas. There were cars. I heard a noise look out the window, a truck zoomed out and noticed the parking lot empty. When I arrived at the destination I had heard a strange noise while driving and chkd my gas cap, they stole it. I bought a lock 🔐 one for it. 😀I had just finished eating my breakfast of 3organic pasture eggs with slice of sourdough bread n Irish butter.
Thanks for putting this video out there. The Crooks don't care! Day or night. You are right. I find myself talking to women at gas stations about their mistakes.
Great the way you overcome and survive ..I'm sure if offered a tiny home you would prefer that.. I know I would rather live in a house or place I could walk around in
Hello! Wonderful advice, yeah so much happening, everywhere. Even here in vermont we have to be extra careful. I always lock my car, no matter where I am. Your van looks so cozy! Happy sunday! Take care.
What's wrong with people??? I Always take my keys with me and Always have All my doors Locked while I'm in it or out of my car. It's a hard lesson to learn but STOP leaving your car/truck with your keys inside and Always lock your car/truck if your outside/inside- even filling gas or not.🙄🤔 Btw, I don't feel any sympathy for those people. COMMON SENSE...Take your keys with you & Always Lock Your vehicle up!
I pay cash because it's cheaper and that is the only cash I carry. I always lock the doors as soon as I get out. Before I get out I put my purse in the backseat and cover it up with the giant sun hat I wear.
I once was feeding a homeless kitty tt was cold out l left my van unlocked fed the kitty 50 ft away went back and realized my wallet was missing…We also don’t pump our own gas in NJ I only wanted $20 when I was ready to pull off I noticed the gas gauge didn’t move I was still reading E and it wasn’t broken but this man swore he put it in I should’ve called the cops but I didn’t press the issue and im not confrontational so he got me for$20.00 lee your video is what we elders need and I thank you❤
Lee the music is so great..!!.. Lee the newer cars don’t have gas caps anymore ..I had a new rental car I was surprised ..no caps..The ford transit you have to open the door to pump gas and guess what no caps..They have this metal flap that seals out the weather The guy in the orange tent ,,Just the sound of it sounds so mysterious..I have to get it ..
I don't know if you're in Tucson still but I live far Northwest past Oro Valley. I never lock my car doors. I just do it in Oro valley even though don't worry. I don't go out at night. Nothing good happens after midnight. We have low crime here. Pick a safe area but I know it can happen anywhere.
Something important that I have never heard addressed by anyone. My vehicle is programmed to unlock all four doors when I put it in park, which is very unsafe. I noticed in the owner's manual that the driver can change it so that only the drivers door unlocks. I always lock the doors immediately when I get in the vehicle and never ever leave the car unlocked anywhere anytime. I have never considered gas stations to be a safe place. Also I only purchase gas at recognized corporate gas stations. They are usually safer in my opinion. I have noticed that many of the gas stations and convenience stores are owned by individuals who don't have the same safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and lighting standards as the corporate stores. We have had a bunch of homeless folks camped out at my usual gas station's picnic area. A quick phone call to corporate takes care of things like that. The panhandling and scammers were getting really bad.
My family owned a chain of gas stations when I was a kid. We lived in a quiet area but many of our locations were in not so good locations. My father always advised..Drive out of your way to buy your gas and groceries to a nicer area IF you can. Buy your gas at mid morning or noon when there are a lot of gentlemen workers stopping by for lunch and fuel. Feel the vibe, look around. As to grocery stores you can and should ask for carry out if you have small children with you or a big load. CHOOSE where you shop, go w a friend if u can. Most people are good. The bad 👎 people prey on you at grocery stores and gas stations. Absorb and accept the sad😢 fact that the world is changing and you can and should ask for a carry out person at the grocery. They love to get outside. I always tip them and they always are so kind. I do not shop at big stores. I save a lot because I just get what I need. I go to ACE Hardware. I go to mom and pop grocery stores. Walmarts have a LOT of crime. If you look up the crime rates at your local big box stores you would fall off your chair. I know Lee is the Walmart queen 👸 but she goes at the crack of dawn before the no goods wake up but for me I choose clear view close by parking. It's a daily thought w me where I shop where it "seems" more safe. Many a time I have driven away when something seems adrift or I feel I am being watched. Don't be scared, be smart about the company you shop with. It could save your life one day. Superb video as always Lee!!❤
I rode in someone's car and she doesn't lock her doors. I said I want to lock the doors and she said to go ahead but she didn't lock her door. I will never ride in her car again. We live near Fort Stewart which is west of Savannah.
I hate the fact that we must do all.these things to stay whole...but ..we do.. I taught my children these things... stay off phone..no headphones in public. Always be aware

Use common sense folks. I have never felt unsafe at a gas station no matter what time of the day. I’m 68 and live right across the river from St. Louis!
Yes you are missing the new findings. Cholesterol levels and pharma have been a hoax on the human race. We need fats Andrew is perfect. I have grass fed organic. Snd coconut oil. Olive oil. Those are the oils I use. Little are moving to a more carnivore diet. Most of what the government and medical profession (who never studied nutrition in school) were wrong.
I love the grounded reality of this channel!! Retirement took a toll on my finances, but I am so excited with my involvement in the digital market. $172k monthly has been life changing. Regardless of how bad it gets on the economy.

When I get gas, I make sure all the doors are locked when I get out to get my gas. that way, they can't get into my car

My car requires me to shut off car to fuel it. The keys are usually in my pocket so the car will not start or let you drive it without key fob.

Good advice.
People are desperate because they can't find jobs that pay the bills. It has nothing to do with being an immigrant.
