If you read interviews with the cast from the first 12 years of Neighbours, literally almost all of them (particularly younger cast members like Rebecca Ritters who played Hannah) praise Anne Haddy for her professionalism and friendliness, there's not a bad word to be said about her.
Many people will remember Anne Haddy playing Helen Daniels. But Anne Haddy also had a string of other roles, and she broke the mould of the Mother-in-Law in 'Neighbours'. Her character, Helen Daniels will be remembered as the kindest, gentlest soul, but also one who was never afraid to do the right thing and to stand up for what was right against what was wrong.
A lovely actress and a lovely character. But re her funeral: I still think Madge should have read the eulogy, since (a) she was Helen's best friend and (b) unlike Harold, she wasn't recovering from amnesia.
@@najbritcol yeah and Julie's was the same..l never understood why with legacy characters like that they don't have the funeral off screen and then just have a memorial service for the friends. They got it right with Jim and they've gotten better with that sort of thing in recent years. Madge's funeral should have been up in Queensland where her family were.
I know its fiction but i find it strange that Paul, Scott or Lucy didnt come to the funeral i know the actors might had been busy but i think they could had made alittle effort to ask them for a cameo just to make it more believeable i dont think any grandkid would ever miss their grandparents funeral for no matter what reason.

Mrs Daniels was an adorable Character

You're right but the scene is also spoiled by the fact that not one of the Robinson family members were brought back for het funeral.
@@TF80s Very true. Mind you, Madge's funeral a few years later is, if anything, even worse in that respect re her family.

@@TF80s Paul was detained

I remember Helen Daniels very well. She had a bit of an English accent as Anne Haddy lived in the UK for sometime.
Terence Donovan, Tom Oliver, the lad that played Andrew Robinson etc.

You'd be surprised.
The Bungle Bungles will never be the same again ;)
Reckon they should have put 1985 cast pic as she was one of the very 1st original cast...
A classy lady!
Lucy should have been there
Yeah
As should have Paul and Scott but that's soap fiction for you.
