They didn't even attempt to a single solo song. It blows my mind. Exclusively associating him with another artist and depicting him as only a feature artist completely ignores and hides his really important career.
It would’ve been funny if Cudi reacted differently to the questions, like when they asked him “Ok, next up is All of the Lights” and Cudi was like “Oh yeah, so Judgmental Cunt was one of those songs where I was really angry and I just jammed out in the studio after drinking a couple beers” just to fuck with them lol

Day N Night was probably the song most emblematic of the mid to late 2000s club boom. He was on the wave of making poppy hits that were somehow both blatantly and lowkey about just being really depressed, which is what's defined much of popular rap music ever since, most notably in the sound cloud/ emo rap scenes
Seriously was just talking about how kid cudi opened my mind up to so many different types of music, ever since I heard the pursuit of happiness for the first time my music taste hasn’t been the same since then

My personal favorite is Alive. Such vivid imagery for a track that's pretty much Duran Duran's Hungry Like a Wolf. But on this track the protagonist isn't oozing with confidence, he feels like finding this girl is the only thing that can save him from being a monster, and his partying is less of a lifestyle choice and more of a curse and something he feels almost ashamed of. That's such a refreshing take on this type of a situation - he's breaking down all these rapper stereotypes and does it on a track co-produced by freaking MGMT. Just wonderful.
