When I was a kid every fall we would help my uncle on a cattle drive five miles to his own place boy that was so fun to do
My favorite, the cows….
1) with summertime will we see a video from Owen at all, the one he did of the chickens and ducks were awesome.
2) did you name the calve that Dr. Mason delivered? I vote for Maisey 🐄
As always very entertaining ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those are some lucky dairy cows! Personally, the bells would annoy me, but you guys do you. I like watching the cows out in the fields in the quiet.
I was going to ask why bell your cattle? , but I like your father’s explanation; tradition and personal property and I like the different sounding bells for each type of cows(generic term). Enjoy watching and learning about small north mid-west dairy farming
I don’t think we had cow bells on our dairy cows. German heritage maybe beer stein instead?
The way dairy farming ,should be.Thankyou from Michigan
Brown Swiss is my favorite cow when it comes to dairy cows..,
Looks like today neither man nor beast needed a trip to the "gym".
Do your cattle have shorter legs on one side as we do in Tennessee? Your hills look just like ours. I believe evolution is real!! Ha! Ha! I enjoy your videos and look forward to each and every one.
The bells add a unique twist to the herd of grazing cattle!!! At least it'll be easier to locate them during pasture checks. Looks like some lush pasture to keep them contented. Based on past experience, moving a herd of cattle can have it's own challenges...not exactly a one person job unless there are some tame animals that are used to your calls.
So peaceful..
The views on your farm are amazing. Hopefully you can get some hay made and show some awesome drone shots.
I was anxious to hear a yodel! Maybe next herding group?? Fun content.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO Aaron
you all have an incredibly pretty farm!
How the heck do you keep cows moving walking through a beautiful field of alfalfa? Well done!
Up until the mid 70's, we would drive the bred hiefers 2 miles on driveways and state road to the dairy barn from pasture. Twice each year. Traffic became a problem, so we started hauling them . Trailers replaced trucks, and it was way easier.
It’s always fun watching cattle get turned loose on new pasture. No need to go to the gym to work legs that’s for sure. Thanks for taking us along.
It's the bell season in full swing. Literally.
Beautiful countryside, looks great, the cows certainly enjoy being out in the pasture. Regards from Down Under.
My grandfather had bells on his milking cows. at exactly 5 PM you would hear the bells coming closer to the back fence to get let in for milking. Love the sound.
You don't have a cow that needs to be checked for tinnitus🤣😂🤣
Love the sounds of the bells, as the herd grazes.
When I milked cows I also put bells on my cows I would just listen for a bell and knew where the cows were at Lol
That is,awesome with them bells always no where the cows are great videos 😊
Sure has been a good sping here in Dunn Co. Hope the growing season is good for all farmers. Thanks 😊.
There's always some that want to go in a different direction. Thanks for the video. All the best 🇬🇧.
Nothing better than putting cows out on pasture! Thanks for taking us along.
Running up and down hills is work. You must all be in great condition. Lucky cows, to be able to roam in such a green place. Thanks for the video. We have an old cow bell that was my dads. Use it for anyone who is sick. They don't have to yell to get your attention.
looks like quite a difference in elevation on your farm
I admire you guys and your farm, but I don't like cow bells. They are to loud for the cows. Cows hear way better than us.
Dairy cows don't seem to herd as easily as beef cows. They all have a mind of their own. We would chase our young stock about 5 miles on the road to our other farm, the get wild.
That’s a cool sound with the bells. Nice looking cattle
I had a girl friend that her mothers name was besse and she alway conplained that her mother named her after a cow and mom put a bell around her neck to by giving her a middle name of bell, Besse Bell
A good herding breed dog might earn his feed on a day like that ! So beautiful up in the pasture - driftless region can't be topped !
I love the sound of the Bells Make me feel real happy Watching them cows go up in the hills Enjoy Jubilee get you out of another one my friend they say have a good day
Love hearing the bells! My dad grew up on small dairy farm & they had bells on their herd.
That sound would drive me nuts!
Another good one!!
I'm not a farmer and I see the reasoning behind using bells, but man imagine walk around with a bell around your neck. I don't know!!!!
Love cow bells! nothing more calming that sitting on the porch at the end of the day, watching the sun set, and hear the cowbells, Like music! Cows are smart, they conspire against us! Hey, we're going out to pasture, so let's make it fun, we'll split up in 6 groups because there is only 4 of them!
My nephew was the one who got me hooked on this channel - I was really impressed your swiss descendants 😃
Love the bells and traditions
thank you
When I was growing up, all around us were small dairy farms; and beef farms for that matter. We were a small beef operation.
I used to hire out in the summer helping on the dairy farms with milking, cleaning up after milking, and moving cows. ( Money used for school clothes ect). Seeing you move your cows brought back memories of certain ornery cows that loved to galavant. Always the same ones.
I thought it might make a good vid(s) to introduce us to some of your cows and they're particular personality.
Things like some cows would let you walk up to them in the field, throw a bucket under them and milk them by hand; while others, even in the stantion, you had to watch they might try to kick you. Some cows loved the dogs and would lick them while others would never get near them. There were certain cows that just had to be first in everything, and then there was that cow you wished all the cows could be like. I'm sure you have some good stories about some of your cows.
The cattle call and the bells are so nice
When we move our cows and calves, we stretch a reel of twine between us and walk them wherever we want them. I will never try to move cows any distance without twine.
I really like hearing the bells, it’s surprising that a few farmers still use the bells
The sound of the bells is awsome, i need to send this to family who are dairy farmers also
Our grandfather used them would wake to the bell sound.
Not a fan of the bell noise it would drive me bonkers
That was a cool video thank you
That was awesome! Loved it!!!
Most definitely I want one
😊
The bells would drive me nuts!!!
