Imo he played it perfectly by the words of liszt "what I want to hear is the canter of the horses of the Polish cavalry before they gather force and destroy the enemy"
He certainly brings great heroism and pride to the Polonaise, even if it is somewhat over pedalled. I wonder if the L.H. octaves have ever been spun as rapidly as this before?!!. The transcendental Etude by Liszt is rather distorted and overblown for my taste, however the Hungarian Rhapsody is wonderfully entertaining with the added Slavic embellishments by Cziffra.
