I received my Eros about 2 weeks ago and have been carrying it ever since. It is my favourite EDC right now, and other than the non reversible pocket clip(which I have taken off anyways because a am a lefty) it is perfect. The stainless steel handles give it a nice heft but it is still a slim and easily carried in the pocket. The blade came razor sharp out of the box and comes flying out at the slightest touch of the flipper, and the lock up is tight. Overall a very handsome and high quality knife at a great price.
    Great work CRKT 10/10
Also when was this knife put into production? Because I bought mine off KnifeCenter.com and was surprised when I received a first production.

This version is so much nicer than the original to me but I like the heavier knife and the cleaner look.

It reminds me of the Hobbits Sword, " Sting". The Grippyness of the titanium handle is great. the blade is very sharp. The pointed tip is good for removing splinters. For self defense, I wouldnt want to fight someone with this knife in their hand. It is like a long scapulae.

This style of knife with the lever that opens it really quickly is now illegal in Canada. The regulation now bunches it in with spring loaded opening knives. Don't get caught carrying it.

Does Ken use that "pointy" tip to clean the groves on his irons and wedges? :-)

That looks like a fine knife. I only purchase knives I will use and I only use tip up carry pocket knives.

What is CRKT's infatuation with tip down carry?

    • @crkt
      @crkt  10 лет назад +5

Jim Hoover thanks for asking! Here's the reason: tip down carry is less likely to cut you if you stick your hand in your pocket and the knife is open. I asked Ken Onion the same question off camera when we were filming this video and he said the same thing... tip down is safer. He then proceeded to tell me horror stories about severed fingers resulting from people sticking their hands in their pockets and an open tip up carry knife happened inside. Now, tip up or tip down carry will be an eternal debate among knife users because it's a personal preference debate. But when it comes to avoiding accidents, at CRKT we've decided it makes sense for us to make the majority of our knives tip down carry. I hope that helps! -Ben

rfw1982 Like I said, it's an eternal debate among knife users. We do what makes sense for us as a business. You can't win 'em all with everyone all the time. But you can have a jolly good time winning with a lot of folks a lot of the time... that's how we roll. Cheers, Ben

      CRKT OFFICIAL
Why not give the option for tip up and tip down carry? Seems to make good business sense, seeing as your knives would attract both types of people.

"and that was my inspiration for designing this really slim tip"
Because Ken has never designed a knife with a slim tip b4...

is there a chance jason brous would design a knife for crkt?

    • @crkt

Jason is a boss and we admire his work. At this point, there isn't anything in the works. But you never know who might get together and collaborate in the future...

This is just a Kershaw leek which is also by ken onion..... So thanks ken onion for making two of the same knives.

Leek is an excellent knife, all of his Kershaw Knifes are, but if you look at that knife the only thing it has in common with the leek is they were both made by Ken Onion. Ken is doing some amazing stuff at CRKT. The new homefront knife is incredible
