- In today's RUclips viDEBO I'll be painting a perch pattern on a crankbait. The yellow perch is a great pattern in the midwest and northern lakes (or anywhere perch are present). I'll take you through all of the steps and how I paint this lure.

Yes, that is exactly what it had been about...tons of practice!
Been airbrushing 15 years I still put in 4 to 5 hours a week of practice and I'm still learning I have no idea how many books of newsprint that I've been through
The splatter spots are cool. It gives it that added realism of not being a perfectly symmetrical, uniform pattern

@@DEBOSFishing it's ok. the right hook and hardware matters. too big and the action is off. but overall its good. mines dove about 3-5ft.

*Fun little bait great for ponds. This thing casts really well for its size, I was surprised. Good for when you need to downsize and gets smaller fish to commit*

You can get the splatter effect by just turning your pressure very low on your compressor. I think it’s more controllable that way. Great job again @mountainbasser!

Hey, Debo's! Your right. White makes the colors pop. I work in printing packaging. White is what we lay down first to make the most of the colors we print. Maybe try a chrome to also make your colors pop. If you go to Wal-Mart check out the pharmaceutical isle. It will show you the colors that stick out together. It is to attract people to there items on the shelve. Hope this helps you in your new business of painting lures. Shawn

I've never seen a real perch in real life. In oklahoma the Okies call any sunfish a perch. But the lures looked great!! I've been experimenting with Spike-It Lumapearl paint on lures. Adds that iridescent sheen that fish have. It's pretty cool stuff.

@@DEBOSFishing tackle warehouse carries it. It's no gimmick. I used it on hard baits and soft baits and it gove them that glisten that only fish have. It's hard to describe.

By the way, if u need a core hole drilled thru ur basement wall for the vent pipe, let me know. That's what I do for work- concrete cutting.

you can also make a nice dark green transparent background instead of yellow and put on it the opaque black stripes

Use the sepia after all colors are applied it will blend all better and add a nice detail look to all colors.
Debo, you have picked this up fast. Good job!!! Get some pearl paints. The Createx candies are great but you need some other products like their urethane and bleed checker because candy paints will bleed through. The pearls do need a white base, but you can do ghost colors with them it's just slow.
