My comments above would agree it looks promising; I'm in ACC Country but I look @ every Conference closely, and w/ AFFOLTER, like STUELKE, a potential All-Big 10, possible Player of the Year, help from TAYLOR MCCABE, & O'Grady, and their Incoming Freshman Post Player, who's name I'm forgetting, IOWA looks post-Clark ready to be a Solid @ worst; IOWA ST looks a bit more versatile on Paper, but OLSEN adds Scoring Punch; That, along w/ who can scoop a Recruit and/ or Portal Pickups will offer more clues.
3rd leading scorer in the country but she was her conference's number 1 leading scorer. that really says a lot about her, congrats to Iowa hope to see you all in the final 4 again next year
Fantastic news! I understand that we only have one scholarship to give and they decided to use it to recruit a point guard. Maddie Scherr from Kentucky was going to visit on Thursday after Lucy. I was hoping Lucy would commit. I'm sure Maddie would have been great too, but this is HUGE for Iowa! I love that we can continue the play style we are known for and I think Lucy will be the perfect fit for that!
Coach Lisa Bluder lands a whale! I’ve watched Lucy’s points per game every week as she was 3rd behind Caitlin! She must be awesome! Wonderful news! Now Bluder and Jan and staff can make her super great!
CS from ACC Land in the US , that looks @ all Conferences; Or Most/ 99%; One piece of Highlight Tape to Consider; VILLANOVA vs DEPAUL, Game 2, Look for a late Feb or March Date to check out OLSEN. Late Reg-Season/ Pre-B. East Conference Tourney tilt; One of better games of the 23-2024 season, btw
Super news for Iowa for sure. But great news for the B1G as having Lucy and Juju in the conference brings more and more attention. If they both continue their development, can only mean better competition and more interest.
CS in ACC Land (NC) in the US; I analyze all or Most of the Leagues; Haven't checked to see if REAGAN BEERS (Oregon St.) made a decision after entering the Portal; U CONN, UCLA, or LSU may have the Inside Track to land her, but she's very good; A Most likely Top 5/ 10 WNBA Lottery Pick in 2025 wherever she goes, and IOWA would be well-served w/ her on board 2 free-up STUEKE add rotation flexibility; w/ her; She may have Visited IOWA CITY or talked to the coaches, no telling. They have a nice Post player Recruit incoming for 2025, and if I'm Correct ADDISON DEAL won't be on campus until the 25-2026 Season; Top Guard, not sure which Number, but she's Ranked either 18th or 36th in the Nation.
"Poor woman's Caitlin Clark!" Cory! I love this. When you have a chance look up "butter's getting hard - Chick Hearn" A man who can coin a phrase is a man with a place in sportcasting!
Now we need a tenacious D player to replace Gabby Marshall. We really need some HEIGHT that's aggressive & strong in the post to help Hannah. Hannah's aggressive play really started to spark this year, but some of those big girls were able manhandle Hannah even though she really dug deep and fought hard, so it'd would be great to get some more of that with a little more height and size to have two down low that can be rebounding beasts on both sides of the court.
Saw Lucy live at Columbia, this year. She's the real deal! Makes tough shots! She assumed an expanded role due to the graduation of All-Big East forward & leading scorer Maddy Siegrist(29.2 ppg, 9.2 reb, 1.5 ast).
Olsen, Sydney and Stuelke make a very good nucleus. Stuelke should improve on being stronger holding onto the ball and better body positioning near the hoop. Syd just needs slightly better defense and a couple of more points a game. Kylie makes for a good 6th man. So they need to replace Kate Martin's versatility (rebounding, efficient scoring). Who are the other two starters?
CS From ACC Land (NC) in the US; The fact that IOWA bypassed the Portal in the 2023 "Off-Season" & didn't give her 100% confirmation they would Explore in 2024 may have factored into CAITLIN CLARK's Entry into the WNBA Draft; Now that it's in the Books, grabbing OLSEN in the Transfer Market makes the Lady Hawks potential In & Outside of Conference Big-10 & their already Key Matchup w/ In-State Rivals IOWA ST, that much more Interesting; Prior to the Pickup of OLSEN, the Cyclones on Paper looked to have an Edge in Talent & Upside, being a Gifted team w/ Youth w/ the Recruiting Windows still in Progress, the Final Tale on how both Clubs will look for 2024-2025 will be told; w/ OLSEN's formidable Dribble-Drive & Perimeter ability, IOWA has initially positioned themselves to smoothy transition into a Potent "Post-Clark" offense.
Does not remind me of Caitlin. But she does remind me of Paige Bueckers. She has a similar midrange game as Paige. That is where Caitlin needs to improve. This is a great one year player and then the 5 star player from the West Coast can take over. Now they need a 6'4"+ Big. They get this and they can compete on the national stage, legit.
Bluder's going to need a ton of talent to get over the SEC hump. SC has all but one starter coming back and has a top recruit in Joyce Edwards...Looking like a repeat
Now they decide to get good players. If they would have gotten another scorer, they would have two natty by now. But they need to add a big girl, Huelke as much as she is liked she is not a starter. She is too small and some games she just disappears. When you are the starting center and the coach has to take you out in the final minutes of a championship game because you couldn't make a layup, than you got some work to do.
I hope Iowa fans will not constantly compare her to Caitlin Clark. That would be unfair, as Clark is the type of player that only comes along once in a lifetime.
I'm thinking of Taylor McCabe, who has been very loyal in sticking with the Iowa program while Gabbie and Kate came back for their 5th year. Good luck, Taylor. And, just fyi, if you enter the portal, there is at least one Iowa fan who wouldn't blame you. Just sayin'.
Players only have until May 1 to get a new team in order to play in the 2024-25 season. So quite likely McCabe already would have if she was going to enter the portal (risky to wait until now). I'm sure she has known for a while that Iowa would be getting someone in the portal. Plus she is getting a civil engineering degree and would have to consider the program for that elsewhere in addition to basketball which could complicate things. Two guards who would be playing next season had ACL tears and figure to miss a large part or all of the upcoming season. So if Iowa didn't get a guard in the transfer portal they would be very thin at the position and only a couple of injuries away from having no guard depth. That happened to some teams this season. McCabe is going to get a big playing time increase in the upcoming season which would happen with or without Olsen. If she looks better than Feuerbach in practice she should be a starter (that is her only realistic competition). I wouldn't blame anyone in any situation for entering the portal. Everybody has to figure out what is best for them.
Heiden was one of the top post players in the country coming out of high school, hoping she can fill that spot with AJ and O Grady. Need both AJ and O Grady to step up next season.
The only problem is that no one has heard of this girl . McCabe only averaged 7 min pg and still lead the team for 2 year in highest 3 point percentage. What a waste it was having McCabe on the bench for 2 freakin years. A wasted she should be able to get one of those years back.
Getting third scorer in ncaa, Stuelke averaging 10/ go? Altoffer is ready to step up. Lost a lot of talent. No doubt. Coach Bluder has decided to keep winning though
Looks like a good fit. BUT I feel bad for her former coach at Villanova. Denise Dillon is a class act and always recruits classy gals. Transfer portal is out of control. 😮😮😢😮😮

What a big get for the hawks! I didn't have my hopes up with basically every big name school wanting Olsen services. Here tape is impressive ! I really love the step back midrange shot. That is near impossible to defend . And can school in so many other ways. Haven't seen much of her passing but I have no doubt with her ability and the team around her and coming in she will fit in just fine into bluders high assist up tempo offense. Her recruitment wasn't huge out of high school and wasn't a huge 4 or 5 star kid. She was in ranked overall similar to Kate Martin coming out of high school. It's impressive seeing her improve year to year. She has had to earn it by putting in the work and it's paying off. I had a feeling seeing her she would fit our system as long as she wasn't looking for a big nil payday compared to what other schools could give. Have a feeling this was fitting in somewhere vs $$$. I hope she can come right in and form some nice chemistry. My only question is what happens with guard maddie sheer from kentury ? Are they still interested in her as well? Or was she the backup in case Olsen didn't pan out? It's interesting with the coaching change at Kentucky and Moore coming in from Virginia tech (and the whole team and staff filled and liked maddie also on socoal) that no other school but Iowa has shown interest in her. We all know bluder lloves to play with lineup full of guards.
We need as much a new Molly Davis as anything as in someone who can run the play, get the ball down court, and not make mistakes. We have Taylor to drop threes and then Syd can keep playing a 2/3 position. Very excited!
I've only seen a few highlights of her and two things stand out immediately: 1. she's great at creating space for her own shots and 2. she surprisingly has good post moves at only 5'9''. It'll be interesting to see what she does with more talent around her at Iowa.
What a great get. She can score. She can create her own shot, and knows how to put the ball in the hoop even when contested. This is a great get.
Completely irrelevant to her gameplay, but it's a teensy bit ironic that she's almost a spitting image of Kate Martin. 🙂

Wow, a Big addition for Iowa to go along with a Strong Freshman Class!
Good for Lucy! She will fit in well with the ladies on this team! You can’t have enough talent and depth!
She will do good at Iowa, they play a team style game and Lucy will fit in well.
Wow 27,000 views. Is that a record Cory? Good for you, you were there for women's basketball when it wasn't hot, good to see HOTS benefiting

Super news for Iowa for sure. But great news for the B1G as having Lucy and Juju in the conference brings more and more attention. If they both continue their development, can only mean better competition and more interest.
Let's go Hawks!
Her mid range game is 🔥
Iowa coaches hate midrange... Interesting...
That's what I noticed too! Something we really didn't have last year.
So happy about this! Good luck
This guy Cory deserves credit, he’s got thee stuff!!!! Very good voice. Good energy. Homework (check)
Mn guy here but everybody loves the Hawks. Now they need a stud post to help out Hannah. Good luck Hawks.
They a have a 6’4” 4 or 5 star coming in this year
@skylermummert24 Ave Heiden is 6.4 that will help
CS in ACC Land (NC) in the US; I analyze all or Most of the Leagues; Haven't checked to see if REAGAN BEERS (Oregon St.)
made a decision after entering the Portal; U CONN, UCLA, or LSU may have the Inside Track to land her, but she's very good;
A Most likely Top 5/ 10 WNBA Lottery Pick in 2025 wherever she goes, and IOWA would be well-served w/ her on board
2 free-up STUEKE add rotation flexibility; w/ her; She may have Visited IOWA CITY or talked to the coaches, no telling.
They have a nice Post player Recruit incoming for 2025, and if I'm Correct ADDISON DEAL won't be on campus until the

So stoked! But how's her defense?
As a Hawkeye fan, I'm happy to have her play here.
Great content
Thanks for the Info.
Thank you, Mr. Brada.
Yes! Welcome Lucy!!
A really good video and bright future for Lucy
Yesssssssss!!! I told people we going NOWHERE!!!!!! Business as usual, get it going!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah!!! Let's go Hawks!!
This is great news !!!
Welcome to Iowa Lucy
Wow. This looks like a great fit.
That great score from the Big East a lot of class AAA+ players in that division more to come we hope.
"Poor woman's Caitlin Clark!" Cory! I love this. When you have a chance look up "butter's getting hard - Chick Hearn"

When I look into the future, I see Iowa landing a front court player as well. Someone from Oregon State maybe??
I know she will make caitlin proud and do great with iowa.
Great news!
The questionwill be how will she affect the play of the other guards specially Taylor Mccabe.

Ava Heiden? She's 6'4"😮
@@Charles-y7n7r Good catch. I forgot the Ava verbally comitted to Iowa, but that's probably because I haven't spent a lot of time looking at her yet.
Ready for Lucy, this is great!!! I cant wait to see her!!!
Oh Yesssssss! I can't wait to next season, Addison Deal and Lucy Olsen .Let's go IOWA. 💛 🏀🎆
Nice content... but... at 2:10 while discussing her stats, you say that she played for UConn ....
Good for her ! Hard worker ….she be a good fit with that coach!
HOORAY!
Good handle, quick feet/athletic, strong shot. She going to score a lot of points next year.
Saw Lucy live at Columbia, this year. She's the real deal! Makes tough shots! She assumed an expanded role due to the graduation of All-Big East forward & leading scorer Maddy Siegrist(29.2 ppg, 9.2 reb, 1.5 ast).

Who are the other two starters?
Stuelke needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble as well
I love this pick-up......Has a certain ring to her name ....Lute Olson would approve.
I'd love to be optimistic with Lucy Olson but the numbers of 51-29 loom so ominous. It's just so vital to have that height.
We knew that this would happen. Who's is the next one 🤔⛹🏻♀️
Need some height and someone that be aggressive under the boards
CS From ACC Land (NC) in the US;

Hello? Taylor McAbe who could come off the bench and drain threes with quick release.
Hello. What about her?
@@FromtheHawkeyeoftheStormWell, what do you think it means?
They need some size. They are getting overpowered by the LSU’s and SC’s of the world
Have you seen Ava Heiden. She is 6.4
Next season, the team will have four girls over 6.3 . That can't hurt.
Is Addison
Deal still coming to Iowa ?
Yes- 2025
Syd and Hannah are gonna have Monster years!!!
We need scorers and at least 2 bigs.
let’s go Iowa!
Hearing S. Anderson/K. Wetjen/J. Buie/A. Price at WR have all stepped up their games...but a WR out of Oregon could be coming if NIL is right.
Cool. Maybe they can go .500 next year.
More interesting in Iowa Women than WNBA. The team should be good.
Nestor and Lutmer where chatting on campus about how good defense is and their goal to shut down Ohio State.
We need Taylor to come on big time and she is the girl to do it.

Wahoo!!!!
YES.. Caitlin Clark has a replacement!!!! for the Hawkeyes
How’s her logo 3’s range? :)
So if her stats track....next year shes due for about what 38-40 ppg....

That's the problem with the transfer Portal - Kylie, Taylor, et al., just going to sit on the bench?
Five players start.
So basically IOWA just lost 2 SUPERSTARS (Caitlin Clark & Kate Martin) & now they’re just reloading for next year
I'm already jonezing for Hawkeye basketball. I need a time machine to jump forward to November.
I hope Iowa fans will not constantly compare her to Caitlin Clark. That would be unfair, as Clark is the type of player that only comes along once in a lifetime.
She + ADDISON D will help Hannah and the Iowa

she's 5'9 but she has long arms, which make her a huge of problem for defenders
Add Ms. Beer!!!!
Iowa would need someone to transfer out first in order to add Beers. That is unlikely to happen at this point.
I compare her to a Marshall style but more scoring.
I'm disappointed that Iowa went to the portal.
now go get a big.
Heiden was one of the top post players in the country coming out of high school, hoping she can fill that spot with AJ and O Grady. Need both AJ and O Grady to step up next season.
No more available scholarships
Another name to come to the top of the pack is Chase Brackney.

UConn always shut her down. Watch the games.🤔
Over the last 2 seasons vs. UCONN, Lucy has been in double figures 4 of those 5 games.
No loyalty to Villanova
U guys lost your scorers ,they all left, next year going to be brutal.

She gave Nova three years, and this is her first time transferring. I get what you're saying but this also has to be what's best for Lucy.

Quick question, does Iowa have another spot available for portal? I was looking and I thought they only had 1 spot.
