Hey Conor. Thanks for the overview. Your voice is slightly low. I ended up checking my youtube volume and laptop volume a couple of times to realize it :D
I used the exact same prompts as you, but my outputs were much worse (free tier). far less sources, much shorter answer (about 1/3) and very basic language. the blog post also was really basic, just a blob of text with zero formatting.
Thanks for the overview. Couple of things that are not clear to me. 1. Privacy. Does Perplexity learn off user data? How about the GPT that is chosen on perplexity , is data private from and not used to train those GPTs. 2. The GPTs on Chat GPT is very useful. Dont see the ability to do this on Perplexity. Am i missing it? Thanks once again
@@DanIngham You can use Perplexity for just about everything you can use Chat GPT for! I love Perplexity. I have been a paid member for over a month and it is awesome. It does everything I need it to do
I still don't understand the difference between using this and GPT4 since GPT4 can also search the web. I see no difference, just a different name and interface.
It won't work in long run because how it shows off sources and answer is not important but accuracy of the content shown is more important. Google shows relevant results at the top itself.
Yes, but especially for scientific researching it does a way better job than bing (more sources, better accuracy). And the option to search specificly in reddit, youtube, wolfram alpha, academic papers, or to only focus on writing without using the internet is a big advantage compared to bing ai (/copilot). And for me Claude 2.1 option is also a big plus, because the official claude is still not usable in my country...
The search feature in GPT is like the Dark Ages compared to perplexity. Not even a contest. I subscribe to both perplexity and chat GPT 4 and I never use chat GPT 4 for searches any longer
I agree. I tried it last weekend, and I’ll never use Google again. I’m surprised Google has been so slow to integrate AI into their search. They dropped the ball hard.
ChatGPT and Perplexity are both great, but Perplexity writes better stories and dialogues. It's not run-off-the-mill at all. However, the AI Pi is not so good, often gives shitty answers. Only the voices are really nice.
Hey Conor , really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you enhance Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your video to reach to a wider audience ?
Who wants a search engine when you can have an answer engine instead?
Hey Conor. Thanks for the overview.

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm glad to follow a few researchers who can give me some inside tour of perplexity so I'm getting up to speed faster
It also analyzes images, PDF and text. On top of all that it has collections now. Best knowledge and answer engine out there
Love your videos so much! Can you make a tutorial video on FlexClip’s AI tools? Really looking forward to that!

That's true. The paid version is much better. However, did you try it with Copilot enabled?
mine did on the free version ... need to logon and enable copilot

Perplexity is a google search killer not a chat gpt killer

Thanks for the tutorial had it there for one year did not use it
great!

Google shows relevant results at the top for what? Sponsored sites? 😂
This is a terrific intro - thanks.
Isn't that the same as what Bing chat does?

Wow that's really dope. Thanks so much for the heads up, Conor!
Thanks!
Thanks a lot Conor, very good staff.
Hä looks like chatgpt just with better showing of the sources?

@@LazarusStirs Yep, chatgpt's bing search integration is still regularly failing to retrieve results
Volume on this seems pretty low.
Take my words, it will disapper in next 8 years MAX
8 years would be a pretty great run....
@@ConorGrennan thats true
Why?!
Nah dude. Nah.
Tried it out and it did not take long (one follow up) for it to start making up stuff that was false, and parroting my original query back at me.
What if I’m looking for a hype Alex Jones compilation? Will this hide all the good stuff like Google?
So cool. 😎
Thanks!
Wake up people! This is what smart people will use.
Krawl AI is a pretty awesome alternative
Spider-boy Perplexity showing webs of Opacity!❤🎉😁😊

It's made for the internet, based on this technology. AIs will dominate every aspect of technology. So "AI native" term will pop very quick.

Right
It’s a lot of hard work for basic information.

It's dumb to think Google wouldn't be able to pivot
A half billion is equal to 500 million, not much. but is a half billion !!
Lot of hype and hyperbole, not a whole lot of substance
