Lived on Mid-Coast for a number of years. Never missed a Windjammer Festival. Lived on my Pearson for a while. I miss it all. The music matched my slightly melancholy mood, longing to be back there.
1:30 wow! *that's my dream* Just a simple schooner ya know? Already got my timbers selected. Hopefully get it cut this month, and by next summer, start workin the wood. Got some live oak, oak, maple, and poplar. Not much live oak, as it's scarce... yet i got 4 x 10-15 foot long, and all have a natural bend to them. 'A grown knee' as it's known. A LOT OF WORK. If you're thinking of trying it: Build a couple scale models...trust me, it'll help.
I’ve been there (numerous times) and everything is even prettier than it looks ... never went out on one of the “windjammers” ...they take 3,4 and more day trips ... the video was just on “windjammer day” They are all located in the “Camden, Rockport, Rockland area (midcoast Maine) ... coastal Maine is breathtaking .. we stay (south to north) in Ogunguit (gorgeous) ... Boothbay harbor (very nice) ...Camden (lovely) and Bar Harbor (Acadia national park) ... exquisite ... all “not to be missed”
The larger square sail clipper ships that roamed the world were not schooners. These are fore and aft sail rigged coastal ships. Much smaller. They jammed the wind, hence they are called schooners.

Ein wunderbares Video das stimmungsvoll durch die schöne Musik begleitet wird!, Gratulation❤❤
So many gorgeous schooners. I remeber seeing the Victory Chimes when our family went on vacation to Acadia NP. (1960’s).
These are the days! Beautiful!
Superb video and excellent narrative. Many thanks rmb5*
The most beautiful boats. I got a hold of a Dickerson sloop 31' in Miami in 1980. It was love at first sight.
Gotta love the houses near the end, they get to look out their window & see this everyday! Wow!

Beautiful ships. I just love the look of the Gaff Schooner/Cutter (no topsail)

At 8:11 is the Stephen Tabor (note main topmast)
@3:02 No. Not the Stephen Tabor. It's the J&E Riggin.
Thank you! They look similar!

quelle belle collection de merveilles !
Not everything is progress!
Wind sails and wooden boats on the sea.
There is something magical happens in the hearts of seafarers!
beautiful ships, but still waiting to see a Windjammer....
Looking forward to completing one of my bucket list dreams
These vessels are rigged with fore and aft sails not square sails. These are coastal Schooners, hence Wind jammers.
Not One Wind-jammer between those
В стиле ретро...👍
2:46 flag is too small, she needs a bigger one.
Might be on the larger side, but generally I think schooners and gaffers should have a properly large ensign flown from the peak like that!
Красота! )
In my version of the Universe, this has 100.000.000 views.
you guys do not even know what a windjammer is, at least not this kind of yachts, a windjammer is more like those old theaclipper or the kruzenstern
Wrong. Rigged with fore and aft sails not square sales. Clipper ships square rigged larger trans ocean vessels.
Beauty freedom
Beautiful ships but not a single windjammer to be seen.....
