I am often in agreement with JSD, but over-emphasis on legislature over the judiciary is exactly what happened to Shah Bano. And unless UCC is sorted out, same-sex marriage will never become a reality. A special marriage act may be the most practical solution at present.

This discussion was a lost opportunity of serious discussion because of the moderator. Otherwise both Jai Saideepak & Mr. Kripal were absolutely capable of managing the discussion & framing the issues. She was not Ubhay Bharati. She was one a participant. Secondly, as in TV debates they had time constraints. If you are not on TV, why do you have time constraints? Go for endless discussion till the conclusions are drawn or a consensus is reached, or the dialog is broken.

I am often in agreement with JSD, but over-emphasis on legislature over the judiciary is exactly what happened to Shah Bano. And unless UCC is sorted out, same-sex marriage will never become a reality. A special marriage act may be the most practical solution at present.

This discussion was a lost opportunity of serious discussion because of the moderator. Otherwise both Jai Saideepak & Mr. Kripal were absolutely capable of managing the discussion & framing the issues. She was not Ubhay Bharati. She was one a participant. Secondly, as in TV debates they had time constraints. If you are not on TV, why do you have time constraints? Go for endless discussion till the conclusions are drawn or a consensus is reached, or the dialog is broken.

Understood her technique how she spreading her biased thoughts- mark carefully.. she cross questioned SAI with her own questions and never a issue raised by Sourabh. The moment SAI started to hit hard , she directed question to Sourabh to answer. She did it for 45 minutes. Now just to keep her image unbiased she at last asked that muslim question. Remember the pshycology- our mind registers those things that are told for Long time . Trying to hanker with a particular propaganda for 45 mins will not prove you unbiashed madam.Also you will see she tried saying SAI is deviating from topic, SAI is animated so that our mind takes in the idea that SAI is uncomfortable to questions. The moment SAI starts to answer those either she will interrupt or will say "sorry" so that the momentum of SAI gets broken. And when tight point is made by SAI, she will simply divert to Sourabh and also alter the point told by SAI and ask Sourabh to give a view. That is why when Sourabh started to speak about child security in same sex marriage, SAI immediately objected it. SAI never said it. Shoma altered it and said security before asking Sourabh. Understand the body language and word play of anchored. You will get to know whether they are biased or not
