Hi Allana! Just passing on a word of caution I got from my Optometrist on Lumify. This is not an everyday eye drop. It's good if you are taking photos, special occasions, etc. It works really well for that. You may have what they call "dry eye" in which you just need lubricating eye drops that you can get from a drug store and use everyday.

  • @kayleighsparks
    @kayleighsparks Год назад +42

Something to note with lumify is (I think) it works by constricting your blood vessels so you’re not supposed to use it daily (I think that’s what my friend said, she worked for an eye doctor) BUT because it restricts blood vessels you can use it on zits with a q-tip to make them less red/visible!

Awesome vlog per ushhh😍 As a yoga teacher, I’d recommend you to go to a Vinyasa or Hatha class. Typically, Vinyasa is more dynamic (moving with the breath) and in Hatha you hold the poses for longer, but the poses are pretty much the same. You’d get sun salutations, warriors etc! And as many other has written, Yoga with Adriene is awesome ❤️ I did my teacher training in Bali hehe so I definitely had my eat pray love moment, it’s absolutely amazing! Highly recommend YogaUnion!

Whenever I have a body lotion that I don't really get along with, I try to use it on wet skin right out of the shower. I feel like this helps massively with the product sinking into the skin and it also amps up the moisture. This way I'm usually able to use any body lotion (I'm the same as you with the white residue) 😊

But classical Pilates specifically, not the cardio-style-Pilates (which I also love, but doesn’t make the same difference in my flexibility and stability). I’d recommend power vinyasa or ashtanga vinyasa yoga. These are those flow type classes that follow a specific structure (chaturanga, warrior poses, chair, balance poses, etc.) I did YTT almost 10yrs ago and was the best decision for me to deepen my practice. I found an amazing teacher trainer locally in the states and did the 200hrs across 9 months (classes were on the weekends). You learn anatomy, physiology along with a certification. You can totally do this locally (or Bali too haha… whatever calls you!) I studied jivamukti & anusara yoga. Loved the experience and became so stronger along the way! Best of luck on your journey. I think you’d be amazing!

I also suffer with exercise induced asthma, and had to get chest X-rays and do a breathing test before they would prescribe me an inhaler. But, I’ve found that regular use of the inhaler has really helped, and regular cardio has improved my lung capacity (which I’m sure you already have with your workout routine). All this is to say that I get flare ups with allergy and/or weather conditions (possibly all those hot yoga sessions fatigued your lungs as I find humid air is the hardest to deal with), but the consistency with the meds should provide some relief. Thank you for your video, and all the tireless work you put into these vlogs. Hope you feel better very soon! xoxo

I’m very into fitness (used to compete in bodybuilding, teach aerial yoga, taught group kettlebell classes, and personal training) and it’s so hard to find the right balance of everything BUT incorporating yoga regularly into your routine is extremely beneficial for your long term mobility & health as well as just injury prevention. So definitely keep doing it! But pay attention to the class descriptions! Stretching was likely yin (which I loooove for mental health benefits) but when you’re looking for flow you’re likely looking for vinyasa. So just be sure to read the descriptions and if you need to google it that’s good too! Personally I prefer in-person yoga because it’s really hard for me to mentally focus when practicing at home. I just can’t quite get the same mental & emotional benefits at home. But as others recommended- yoga with Adrienne on RUclips is great! Peloton yoga is decent too.

when I started going to yoga classes I was pretty confused by what was what, like you, but I listened to a random podcast episode that explained the various types of yoga and somehow that clicked. I was able to distinguish what was what when reading class descriptions beforehand and making sure I wasn’t signing up for things I didn’t want to!
Depends on the studio but they should have a class description and it should say whether it’s a yin class (long holds for deep stretches), vinyasa (my fave flow cause it’s stretch, strength and balance), ashtanga, iyengar, etc but also some studios are introducing more strength/ power into some of their classes where you end up doing an intense core set, or jump squats lol
Don’t give up though, it only gets better! ✌️

Hi Allana! I’m a RYT200 with about 500 hours of teaching experience. Sounds like the style of yoga you’re looking for is vinyasa and the class you talked about taking here was maybe yin. When booking a class look for vinyasa or “flow” and ask the studio if they don’t state which kind! Explore different styles and build a foundation to your practice! Ok for the long empty wall in your closet room I’d be really careful with colored wallpaper since you’re filming in there. A colored wallpaper might cause a color cast on your face because of reflective light! I’d either stick with a neutral patterned wallpaper or maybe do a gallery wall of art? Famed prints and paintings. It’ll take longer to curate that then just doing wallpaper but I find that adding art to the home just makes it feel so much warmer and more complete.

I think the best sugar alternative is allulose. It is naturally found in maple syrup, figs and molasses but has virtually no calories. It almost tastes exactly like sugar with zero bitter after taste like Stevia. Supposedly, it might actually slightly lower your blood sugar as opposed to raising it like other artificial sweeteners. I can't speak to that, but it does taste almost like sugar to me, but not as sweet. It's fairly new so maybe it's too soon to know it's real cons, but I like it and I can get it at the grocery store.

Sounds like you want a hot vinyasa flow class. Usually a sequence of poses including sun salutation flows and standing and hand balances, can be quite challenging and sweaty if you take a moderate to advanced class, and usually ends with a sequence of deep stretching that helps you to move through the stiff muscles and joints with the support of the heat.

Vinyasa flow may be your yoga of choice! You move quickly through different poses rather than long holds.

I’m sorry to hear about your about your asthma flare up. I have mild asthma and I typically do not have to take medication on a daily basis. However, the smoke/pollution from the Canadian wildfires triggered a full blown asthma attack at the beginning of July. A two week coarse of Advair has worked great, however the doctor recommended at least another 3mo. Just thought that I would throw that out there. Btw, I scheduled an appointment with a pulmonologist back in March and my appointment was just yesterday. It just so happened that I had an asthma attack while waiting to be seen.

Look for restorative yoga or yin yoga too. It's long stretches held in one position for several minutes. It may also include props with sandbags to help you relax into the stretches. I think you would enjoy it as a nice balance to your current workouts. ❤ 🧘🏼‍♀️

Hi Allana!! I love that Red Lipstick from Sephora! Very pretty on you!! I'm so sorry, that you've been having some trouble with your Asthma or Allergies. I've had Asthma since I was born. So, 57 years of dealing with it. Mine has always been a problem. I'm on daily "puffers", and I have a Nebulizer, a breathing machine. It definitely can come and go throughout your life. 2 of my Sons have it, and one has had problems with his all of his life, and the other hasn't had any symptoms since he was younger. I really hope you feel better very soon!! Your new rug is so pretty!! I live in Florida, and I love Flamingos. They're so unique. This was a great video!! Have a wonderful week!! You and Dejan take care!! ❤

Oh my. Sweet sweet Allana….hope you’re on the mend gal. 💗💗💗 love that rug! 🦩🌿…can’t wait to see what wallpaper you choose, I love that you take your time with pieces. Do you have a Pinterest page for room ideas?
I absolutely love body oil and can’t wait to try the new caudalie moisturizing fig oil, how have you liked it?
Maybe you should get a hair bonnet, I’ve been thinking about getting one too. I do sleep on satin pillowcases, but I’ve always got my hair in a bun.

Crazy. I’ve been dealing with dyspnea (the feeling of not getting enough air/can’t catch breath/working hard to breath) since 2020 on and off for chunks at a time. I’m finally getting it looked at…been doing a few tests, etc. Its crazy how many different causes it can be related to. Best of luck!

Maybe try Ashtanga yoga. It's less about a flow sequence and more about building strength and space in poses at your own speed. It's great for abso beginners to learn the poses and build a solid foundation!

Hey Allana! I would highly recommend doing pranayams (especially bhastrika, anulom vilom, kapal bhati) for lung health. These are essentially breathing exercises and are a part of the ancient Indian philosophy of yoga. (It's probably my bias as an Indian but the West has taken up yoga selectively while sleeping on pranayams). "Pran" in Sanskrit literally means life. And you wouldn't necessarily need any class to get an idea of pranayam, RUclips videos will give you an idea. Start off slow with the breaths and do it according to your own pace. 5-10 mins of each pranayam is also sufficient for a start. These practices don't show instant results but for sure have a significant impact on the overall health
    Wish you the best ❤️

I am curious about how the Rugable rug holds out. I was thinking about getting a set for my living room and entryway, but read some reviews that the patterns seemed too "digital" and "pixilated". I like that you can throw them in the wash. I have three big dogs and that would be a game changer.

It sounds like you would like a vinyasa yoga class or ashtanga yoga class they are both very dynamic and fluid forms of yoga. I myself have practiced vinyasa for 6 years and love it. ❤ Hope that helps
