Its not the Sword specifically its Will himself that can combine the sword and wand. Because he is the only one that can wield Wis magic. There's no other wielder of Wis except him in this generation I think.

Wis is referred to as the element of Genesis by the Fire Magia Vander. While other element can take a form of their own. Wis can take the form of any element. To that extent Will can wield every element available. Though he needs a strong connection, memory, attachment and feelings for certain mages to be able to use their own element. After regaining the memories from when f he first awakened Wis as a kid. Will can draw out the power of Wis independently without external help like Sion did for him. And he manifested the powers of Albis Vina (The Ice Queen Elfaria's magic). Thus giving him the ability to use ice magic the same level as a Magia Vander Elfie has.
Last part is complete wrong, he can use ice but it's nothing close to the level of hers . Will no not close to thier level in anyway yet but depending on what happened in the most recent chapter he might get close to the dark viper mage @@Blackvez20
@@Anne-mn9fs TBF the potential is there. And we're only talking about the Will who's just gotten used on using his Wis in his normal Wis use. Who knows what level he will reach if he can freely used his his awakened Wis state the you know the magic spell called Courage which Finn helped him activate. Then he just proceeds to defeat a Floor 40 Monster Boss virtually singlehandedly with just a help from Elfie lending him an ice sword.
In this episode, the biggest clue has been shown, how can Rosty get through to the 11th floor? And why after Rosty threw the crystal, there was a flashback to Elfie's past? It's none other than because Rosty is Elfie's clone 🔥

wistoria is a play on words from the author wis-story i.e. story of wis when translated that means the story of the magical sword: bring wand(magic) and sword together to form the magical sword

Will has the power to absorb literally any spells which make him very powerful, he not only absorbs the spell but makes a memory feeling of said spells, when he searches through a memory of a spell he can call forth the power and fuse it into his sword (wis ability) the spell will be weaker than if he absorbs a direct hit, but still does immense damage. He is the embodiment of wand and sword.
