You know I am new to the indie polish world. I kept hearing about top coats, how great different makers top coats were, I thought "A top coat Is a top coat is a top coat" I've been painting my nails since I was a teenager, even went to Cosmotology school, so I thought it in all my years I've never had a top coat wow me, UNTIL I used Cuticula. I was wowed. It was truly amazing. If it has a fun scent then even better. I'm liking Cuticula polish this month too and Sassy Sauce. Thanks for the swatches.
New to your channel and enjoying it already! Anyone have comments on: KB Shimmer VS Glisten and Glow for their top coats and glitter smoothing topper? Also is Cuticula a better top coat than either? Lastly, is KB Shimmer or Glisten and Glow better for their restoration drops. I will be using it for glitter toppers. Getting my black friday list together. Thanks in advance!!❤
Welcome welcome! As far as glitter smoothers go I've never been able to tell a difference between any I've tried. I've used KBShimmer, Glisten & Glow, Colores de Carol, and Cuticulas. They're all seemingly the same. I prefer the Cuticula top coat to the KBShimmer and Glisten & Glow because the latter contain toluene which gives me really bad headaches. If I wasn't sensitive to that I'd totally use those two though. I've had overall positive experiences with each. I maybe prefer the KBS slightly over G&G because I have gotten shrinking at my tips from the G&G with some polishes. I've never used G&G restoration drops, but I do love KBShimmer's and I've never heard any complaints about it. It's a great product.

Thank you so much! They definitely remind me of each other but are not dupes. They BKL has a more jelly base that's deeper in color and has a stronger shift to green. They're similar!
love the kb shimmer, it's so pretty! i'm debating whether or not i need it, though i might go for something on their site, some of their winter collection you swatched looked so amazing. also that sugar scrub seems like a must have! i'm waiting for swatches of the great lakes lacquer which is based on a meme photo "my ashes when i die" and it's just this pile of glitter haha. i'm not sure if that's the exact name, but something like it. anyway, i have no clue if it'll be too busy or if i'll love it.

Ok since you are a seasoned user of cuticula topcoat I have a ? For you. My 1st bottle is about 2/3rds gone. Last night I went to use it and it is very thick and molasses like and creates strings. What do I do for it to be usable for the rest? I like it alot as it gives a plump glassy finish
Do you own nail polish thinner? Some drops would revive it. I use np thinner from time to time to revive my top coats, base coats, and reg polishes. I use the Sally Beauty one. But kbshimmer sells a great one at a good price. Plus, you can get it 20% off starting this Friday with their BF sale. Hope this helps!
So I do two things when this happens. Sometimes I use KBShimmer restoration drops to thin it so I can use the rest, but once it gets really low I set it aside and start to use a new bottle. Once the new bottle has room I pour the thicker top coat into the newer bottle and mix it up.
Mist Me from KBShimmer is pretty close to this new one! This base just leans a little more purple and Mist Me has linear holo instead of flakies. I prefer this one!
