  • Project Baala, a social organisation in India, launched a women's livelihood project in Maharashtra. By focusing on Latur, Baala aimed to not only improve menstrual health but also empower women economically and promote environmental sustainability
    Project Impact:
    1. 500 Baala Kits, containing reusable pads, were sold by trained women entrepreneurs
    2. Each woman entrepreneur earned INR 1500-2000/month on an average
    3. 2,200 girls and women were impacted
    About Project Baala:
In order to completely uproot menstrual health and hygiene problems, we at Project Baala have created a unique model that resolves problems of menstrual education and product access whilst generating long-term employment. The direct target group is economically marginalised women and girls who lack resources necessary to uphold adequate menstrual hygiene practices.
