So do you agree with the judges?
Woo-hoo....its wonderful and thrilling to see my image win the pro competition...i am humbled and privileged.....its shear luck than anything else to get first place amid so many other talented Photographers...thank you very much judges for considering my image worthy enough to win this coveted competition.
Congratulations. A worthy win!!!!
So thrilled that my picture has been chosen as Highly Commended in the pro competition 'Best of 2023' of the Pangolin photo challenge ! Thanks a lot !! Congratulations to all the photographers .
Congratulations Alex. Its a great shot!
Thrilled to have been chosen as highly commended in this years best of 2023 challenge, so close. These birds are Australian Nankeen Kestrels and it's the male Kestrel. Congratulations to the winner with a stunning image, and to all the finalists.
Outstanding capture Paul - huge congratulations...Aust.
Congratulations Paul. Delighted that Guts got the ID right!!!
My favorite out of all the images shown in this video is the one of the baby polar bear snuggling up to it's mother. A close second being the symmetrical penguins shot.
Both fantastic shots. Was very very close on the scoring!
I'm thrilled to be awarded Highly Commended in the Best of 2023. The penguins are Emperors and were on Snow Hill Island in Antarctica. We had to fly in by helicopter and were reliant on the weather to allow us to land. Fortunately it was kind so we had about three hours at the rookery. Mind you, that included walking quite q way through loose snow as the helis landed quite a way from the colony to reduce disturbance. The chicks were fascinating. It is unlikely that this chick is related to the two adults as they cuddle up to any adult they can find. A fantastic trip to fulfil a life-long dream to see the world's largest penguin! Thank you again.
Congratulations Claire. Its a beautiful shot.
Richly deserved
Wonderful stuff here. It's taken me quite a long time to understand that REAL photography is a lot more than just getting your subject in focus. It's the artistry in the composition of the shot. I don't have that gift (though I constantly work to improve); but I sure admire the work of those who do have it. Well done to all of the entrants!
You are spot on!!!
Excellent thoughts
Great competition guys. Great photo Paul of the Nankeen Kestrels. Dad delivering a small snake for the chicks to feed on. Males have a grey head and a prominent black bar on their tail, females have a reddish-brown head. A winner in my view. Not at all a biased Aussie. Got some reasonable rim-light baboons on the Chobe with Danielle last year but not good enough. We will try again this year. Peter A.
Glad you are enjoying the contest. Looking forward to seeing your images this year!!! Good luck.
Thanks Karen, Lets put Australia on the map for this years photo challenge🙂👍

For the 2024 photo challenge , is the deadline also 31 December?
Yes indeed. Will you be entering?
@@PangolinWildlife Yes, planning to 😊
In the video i can see a few people having their names many times in the lucky draw excel. Was it allowed to enter several times?
The list is the list of image submissions and every entered image is a ticket. This year there are 6 challenges so you can enter 6 images..so six tickets in the draw. Hope that explains
@@PangolinWildlife Right, i see. Thanks!
The kestrel is male
