I watched “no offense” with my actual best friend one night. He didn’t find it funny. It created a rift in our friendship, and our friendship was never the same
Howie, escapism is not the answer. If you're laying awake almost in tears every night it's obviously not working. I'd ask Theo more about what he's doing because he seems to be doin a lot better lately and isn't even on meds anymore. I want you both to be happy because you make so many other people happy!
It's interesting to consider though, eh? Escapism generally has a negative connotation but if nothing else I appreciated Howie's self awareness. Personally I'm in Camp Theo all day in the way I relate to things but Howie seemed earnest in his intent.
Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by having a traumatic event take them by surprise, unexpectantly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death. While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes. Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way. It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

Howie seems to be triggered by Theo's emotional opening and dealing with his shadows because deep down he feels that he should do it himself. His neglection and sometimes even agression towards Theo´s way of thinking and feeling seem like defense mechanisms because he doesnt want to realize that he should face his own shadows one day.
Maybe Howie is one of the Hollyweird pedophiles and has to avoid some topics to not give himself away. Maybe he sacrificed someone in exchange for fame. Many others have, so it's in the realm of possibilities.
One of Theo's comedic skills is that he doesn't repeat his clever lines, in the same show or between different shows. It really does seem that he comes up with stuff completely off the cuff. It is a rare skill. Some top-level comedians recount things over and over with the same lines. You realize it's a bit that the comedian memorized. I remember when Dennis Miller had an appearance on the Tonight Show and Late Show during the same week, and he repeated his clever take on something nearly verbatim. With Theo, I don't think he tells himself that he said something clever and that he needs to remember it and repeat it.
He doesn't want to be numb to everything. He hungers for feelings. He wants to be like everyone else atleast how he perceives everyone to be. Antidepressants never allow you to get better or feel appropriate feelings. They just keep you existing. Obviously there is a time when you might need Antidepressants to get over a traumatic event however they are not suppose to be permanent.

@59:00 What Howie is describing compartmentalization. A good pilot needs this, but also needs that memory to know how to respond to an adverse situation. It is a balancing game. I like how both gentlemen can have different views and thoughts and still be receptive to hearing another thought process. Collectively as a society we could benefit from this.
Being numb to emotions and feelings is no way to live. It’s clear that Theo wants to form emotional connections with other people and be in tune with his emotions. I grew up in a really emotionally and physically abusive home and I never really learned how to control my emotions or even put them into words. Going to therapy and talking through these thoughts and feelings and learning how to communicate really saved me.

Favorite podcast episode!!! So love amazing men (& Jackelyn 😃) having real conversations ! So proud of men like you.
“And I roasted those bastards.” Theo Von talking about orphans from Sian GOAT😭🤣🤣🤣
Theo is the funniest "off the cuff" dude in the world
Damn man this conversation really helped me out, howie and I are the exact same in the way to feel numb and distracted. Powerful
Howie showed some real emotions in this show and I appreciate how difficult that can be. Keep on truckin
Did he though?
@@2011Jayceon what the heck do I know, given some of his issues (i) thought so. Peace ✌️
He def did I appreciated it as well
This is how you miss out on a great opportunity to have an unbelievable podcast.
Howie, you stepped all over theo. I appreciate yall both but yall both do therapy, so don't do it on the podcast , that's redundant.
Still enjoyed it but now I need a counseling session because I was legit angry jokes couldn't get out.
IM UPSTAIRS!
I’m starting to not like howies humour anymore :/ which sucks cause I like the podcast but I just don’t think it’s funny when he asks weird dumb sarcastic questions like he’s talking down on everyone around him, I don’t think it’s mean either but it’s just annoying and not creative humour if that makes sense? Maybe I’m the only one that notices this about him anyway lol
@@dramaturgically you are
I think all is relevant, especially when both discuss therapy because pretty much everyone has been sideways the last two years! To each his own journey!
Love you Theo. This is the most honest podcast I've watched. You are searching and are bombarded with so many options to help you find you. You are so honest and vulnerable in this podcast. It's beautiful. You'r beautiful.
I really connect with what Theo is saying because it made relationships insanely hard for me. Going to therapy and talking through these thoughts and feelings and learning how to communicate really saved me.
Jacklyns hoodie is FIRE!!! 🔥🔥🔥
So good to hear this, theo and howie are my two favorites that get my mental web of chaos possiblies and me anylyzing it, and how do I stop that without meds?
Thank you folks and you daughter and friends and family plan making this possible - for presencing the group.
One of ur best guests, along side Rick Glassman, and Bobby Lee!!
Just another reminder that we all face the same struggles in this life one way or another and we should unite in that idea!
We need another Theo episode soon!
It is important to make the most of your time. Life is precious
Feel like thses are hit and miss but i freakin loved this episode, needed to hear some of that. thanks :)
I WAS NOT EXPECTING TO LEARN ANYTHING FROM THIS ESPECIALLY ANYTHING ABOUT MYSELF THIS IS TRULY AWESOME TY💥💯
I'm glad I watched this because I struggle with similar issues and it really helped me feel like I'm not alone.
Theo had me laughin' like Lou! "Laughin' with Lou" on your next Lou merch.
Howie, you are the kind of show business I hope never goes away. You have led such a cool and interesting life, from my perspective. Thank you!!!!
This Podcast was as Real as Life is. Thank you Howie for the message. Thank you for sharing your struggles. It is about the Now, living in regret for what. God Bless
Man you guys just got cooking, I wanted two more hours
A fantastic interview, thanks Theo
