If this doesn't work for you, like it didn't for me, this was the fix for me: it needs to be plugged into a PC with USB (C). A regular socket or car-charger doesn't do the trick. I finally got mine to factory reset after trying 20 videos!
Did you also happen to have a flickering white screen where you can't see or make out the words? I want to completely factory reset my phone before sending it back but it's a hassle since i can't see what im clicking on.😫

The button combo remains the same (Vol up+ power) but you need to have your phone plugged into either the charger or PC to get charging flow going to get to the menu. IT WILL NOT WORK if you dont have it plugged into anything
WRONG INFORMATION. You don't plug it into any power source at all. You need to have it plugged into your headphones while doing the process - this is the only way it'll work.

Hi, I returned my new phone today. After using it just couple of days, it has the files and app that I transferred from my old one. Before I hand it over to the shop for return, I already did the factory reset, and then the phone restarted. I didn't set up after that, and didn't check if my phone is completely 'empty'. Does it really being reset completely empty or there's a chance the shop can retrieved my files even after it 'factory reset' and the phone restarted? I thought maybe during that 'new set up' of that phone there is somehow an option of file retrieving... Sorry if I seems naive, I don't know much about gadgets.

I could not fix the issue. "this app not available in your country" Of course I did go to Samsung store hoping they will fix it quick and I can just lay down and they will do everything. So I did it myself and did add another Google account. Problem solved. Samsung is not iPhone. Mine goes to some kind of "install custom OS" screen instead when I do this... And having the USB-C plugged in didn't change anything.
