If this doesn't work for you, like it didn't for me, this was the fix for me: it needs to be plugged into a PC with USB (C). A regular socket or car-charger doesn't do the trick. I finally got mine to factory reset after trying 20 videos!

Thank you for your help I was able to give my father my old phone long after a washing machine mix up and I am happy to give him a fresh a fresh new Samsung SE. The only embarrassing thing he will Notice on this phone is my Stench. lol

Hi, I returned my new phone today. After using it just couple of days, it has the files and app that I transferred from my old one. Before I hand it over to the shop for return, I already did the factory reset, and then the phone restarted. I didn't set up after that, and didn't check if my phone is completely 'empty'.
Does it really being reset completely empty or there's a chance the shop can retrieved my files even after it 'factory reset' and the phone restarted?
I thought maybe during that 'new set up' of that phone there is somehow an option of file retrieving...

After doing the factory reset people can still retrieve pictures. How do we permanently erase pictures without the pictures ever being retrievable?

Does the phone have to have a certain battery % to hard reset? Because when i hold the power button and the volume up button it only turns the phone on

For those trying this in late 2021, the method has changed since the Ver 11 update. The button combo remains the same (Vol up+ power) but you need to have your phone plugged into either the charger or PC to get charging flow going to get to the menu. IT WILL NOT WORK if you dont have it plugged into anything

WRONG INFORMATION. You don't plug it into any power source at all. You need to have it plugged into your headphones while doing the process - this is the only way it'll work.

I have samsung s20+, cant remember my password. I tried to reset factory set but it doesn't work. My phone is on flight mode, would that be a factor as to why I cant reset factory mode?

Ok so I successfully access factory reset etc. asks for Google account email plus password over and over again and reset code sent to recovery email. I enter code and it asks for my password (!?). This is the password that hadn’t been working hence the factory reset (?). My blood pressure can’t take it ! Surely factory reset is a fresh start ?

This Hard FACTORY Reset which I've done before without losing everything fucked me big time I literally made my phone forget that I ever had a phone lost all pictures messages phone numbers from years game data even though I don't play a lot of games I didn't know that it would wipe all my caches to make as though I've never bought a book or ever used Google play lost like 5 years of pictures not sure how to get them all back never did a hard reset just a regular one never knew you could go into that hardware and wipe everything

Hi, I have searched the internet and came across many videos for this same process, however my phone will not go to the Factory restore settings screen, it just keeps restarting back to the On screen where I am met with the Pin screen. Any ideas?

PLUG IT INTO A PC WITH USB C. Otherwise it will not work ;) Switch off, turn it on again by pressing power and louder keys. Then you enter recovery mode. choose reset to factory settings and go.

After the newest update you cannot reboot like in the video, use your headphones that came with ur phone and plug it in and then do the same as in the video, it will reboot like that

I could not fix the issue. "this app not available in your country" Of course I did go to Samsung store hoping they will fix it quick and I can just lay down and they will do everything. But they told me to wait in line for ever and then they told me They will factory reset my phone. I said no, no nobody will factory reset my phone except me. So I did it myself and did add another Google account. Problem solved. Samsung is not iPhone. Samsung users are the owners of the phone as soon as Samsung sells the phone, You can do what ever You want with it factory reset root it or throw into the ocean if it does not satisfy You.
