About 10 minutes into episode 2, the dub voice actor for Rimuru read the scene aloud. "[Rimuru] Rimuru used water blade and it was super effective." As Rimuru does not make it a habit to refer to itself in the third person, I assume this to be a misstep.
If you’re going to the effort of dubbing for a localization why would you next translate the onscreen text as well? It’s like you halfway localized it and then gave up.
Just realized how unauthentic the knife scene was, nobody and I mean nobody just randomly runs into a person with a big A$$ knife. I get this was kind of a quick manufactured way to kill off the character with out using a truck. Aside from this scene the rest of the series is actually quite good.

I find that the isekai anime's never do a good job at fallowing the manga, the worst being "I'm a spider now, so what" witch starts jumping foreword 14 years or something to when the human reincarnated students from the Kumoko's class are starting to move.. the manga doesn't even bring them up before Kumoko runs across the young Hero. this one starts to get mixed up towards the end of the first season when Rimuru go's to meet the children.
I know it’s pointless to answer to a 1y old comment but the spider anime follows the light novel, even the designs are borrowed from it. Instead of cute kumo so got potato kumo. :(
