I found this video really funny, and touching. Yes, the slice of life ... the laundry blowing in the wind, the narrow alleys with cats just chillin', and the intelligence to grasp the beauty in unexpected things / places. I wish you all the best with your studies. If I were a young man, I would live in Japan, in a fking mansion too, I would learn the language, and never, ever leave.
I’m surprised people don’t bring up the fact that both cars, bikes, walkability, and transit all coexist beautifully in Japan despite the common belief that cars and transit are mutually exclusive. Even more interesting is Japan is a master builder of both cars and public transit
I got to say... It's amazing to see how your area differs from Shinjuku where I spend most of my time, even though we're not that far away from each other the vibes are absolutely different! I think this is one more reason why Tokyo is such a good travelling spot! Even though Tokyo is a really big area, all of the small cities have these little things that really make them unique 🤔 Loved the video!!! Waiting for the next one ! 😍
I love seeing people's laundry dancing in the wind! It gives me such a tingly feeling. I enjoy your sense of humour. I hope to see more pretty sides of Tokyo here.
I feel so calm when thinking about japan. Im just here gathering information about suburban so i can make my city skyline (game) japan theme more realistic. I hope you show another unique scenery on other suburban areas.
OMG! I related so much to this video! I spend 1 year and a half in Tokyo as a language student too but my house was in Shinkoiwa. Even though it is on the other side of the city, the view is exactly the same! (the first time I saw ppl's laundry on the streets, I freaked out) Such a nostalgic video ❤ Thanks 👍
omg I feel the same way, Im more pulled into the suburban lifestyle than city lifestyle.. I love this video so much. specially how asthetic the streets are etc.
@@shaunmckenzie5509 i think its part of the aesthetic, i lived in Nagoya for 6mos, ive been to Tokyo and the outskirts and oh boy if youve been to yokohama its like it came straight up from slice of life manga/anime.
Absolutely amazingly produced video. Have not seen any video like this on RUclips, but this vibe is what I'm looking for. I NEED to see more slice of life videos. Like, just slice of life in Japan you know. Not the ones without any commentary and only text, but ones that are give more insight of some kind. Laundry was an amazing way to do it, and so was taking interesting shots of the buildings around you. About what you enjoy in your neighbourhood and so on. Either way - amazing video, 10/10, keep it up. Makalöst.
I found your videos recently while looking for videos of people attending japanese language schools as I was interested in attending one myself. Your videos have been absolutely amazing and I've binged all of your japan videos in the last week. They have helped me find my resolve and with any luck this time next year I'll be in Japan attending a language school myself! I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos, and I look forward to watching every new one you come out with!
Tokyo is a busy city only in some central areas. Most areas of Tokyo are located in the suburbs and are quiet residential areas full of greenery. Please go to the Tama area. The Tama area is full of simple nature, with beautiful rivers, forests, and mountains.
This is just what I'm looking for. I lived in Tokyo for a year (1990 - 91) and am looking for clips of real neighbourhoods, a little scrappy and crappy but authentically Japanese - and something you don't see everywhere else (the glossy, perfect stuff presented as all there is to know about Japan - that is, for the Gailin who knows no better). I love your style and sense of humour. And if your place is actually the erotic centre of Tokyo, then you really should write a book about it. Masses of people want to know. I hope you can continue with these videos. Great stuff.
I'm really glad you liked the video! I'd love to be able to make more videos about Tokyo (and the centre of raunchy activity) but since I'm currently back in Sweden I'll try to make interesting videos about my home country in the meantime ~ again, thanks for watching!!
Awesome that you’re getting more and more views and subscribers! I found your channel when I was gorging for small apartment videos, glad to see other videos are up to same quality! It also helps that you are so damn cute. 😅 Cheers from Finland!
As someone living in a country in the throes of a fascist takeover (I say this without hyperbole), your videos offer a sweet, albeit fleeting, respite from what promises to be either a cataclysmic transformation of the United States into something better than it has ever been ("yea-eh!"), or its unmitigated end (not "yea-eh!"). Although I have come to accept that my hopes of fleeing to Sweden are not realistic, researching that option introduced me to your channel. Thank you for giving me something to smile about while I wait to see which side of the metaphorical coin is going to land facing up. Please keep the videos coming!
QUESTION: What do you miss the most about Sweden and Britain? And what's your favorite Swedish word? Mine is 'illustratör'... Idk why... (also you're honestly my favorite youtuber, you're hilarious and your videos are just in general great^^ keep up the good work^^)
I love your videos! Since I also moved to a new country right before the pandemic (from the US to Denmark, which as we all know, >Sweden lol... XD), it's been reassuring seeing your journey and various adventures. Not to mention your super hilarious awkward-sexy humor tickles my fancy. :D Congrats on 1000!
I discovered your channel a few weeks ago because I’m moving to Sweden soon. Honestly thank you so much for creating this content and sharing your perspective and humor with us. I really like all of your videos, but especially this one. I’m studying Urban Planning so I’m horny af for land use regulations and alleyways.
I honestly love how you show the underrepresented side of Tokyo. The somewhat scrappy, as mentioned above, houses really give off a unique authenticity. It's almost a mix of third world but not quite, because these people aren't exactly living in the poverty found in the third world. But at the same time, it gives a sense of it with the clothes hanging and what not.
I completely enjoy your posts and I know youre busy, but its way too long between!! Dont stop!! Your humor is delightful!! Ill be looking on instagram too! BTW, those power lines are Scary! Do you have frequent power outages? How about earthquakes? Be safe and keep filming! God bless!!
You are so kind, thank you for your concern and support and lovely words! :D I'm terribly sorry though, for some reason I missed your question for the latest video. :( I'll answer here instead. So far I have had no power outages, even during the big typhoon last year. And earthquakes are fairly frequent - once every couple of weeks or so - but nothing serious so far there either. The scariest thing about the earthquakes are the alerts sent out to everyone's phones a couple of seconds before one rolls in. The alerts are usually scarier than the actual quakes ^^ Once again, thank you! :D

Learning about these suburbs is so cool, and as you said, not very widely covered by youtubers, this was a great video. Also your friend is a poopy head, Q&A is fun and a great idea! Here's my question: Can we go on a bro date when I get there? The aim of this video was to discuss the suburbs of Tokyo, but I'll answer your questions here anyway :D I didn't have any Japanese income so I didn't pay taxes. I did however enroll in the healthcare system (mandatory for long term residents) and paid about 1,500 yen per month (15 USD) for full coverage. I don't have a drivers' license, in Sweden or in Japan, and many people in Tokyo don't own a car. I paid for most things with cash that I could get from an ATM with my Swedish debit card. Hope that clears things up a bit ^^ Thanks for watching!

@kimjongoof5000 maybe filtered permeability or Barcelona Super blocks aswell?
@@longiusaescius2537 Depends where you are. In the city, you will regularly see multi-lane car roads
@@longiusaescius2537 Actually, you would occasionally see a big American car from time to time
