It's hard to generalize, as he said totally depends on an individual. Jaby said korean and Japanese and irish people may have better tolerance, I could relate to that with following reason-whenever I go to mountain(in India)and drink, alcohol doesn't work on me. So people at high altitude may have better tolerance, although I have never resarched about my observation. Please let me know if anyone else feels the same.
There are high altitudes in India bro. But it does depend on individuals.

@@gauravbhandary213 have you seen indian mountain people drink(aka pahadi log), patiyala peg is nothing infront of them, I hve seen some people in uttarakhan taking a peg as big as 2/3 rd of a glass in one go. And that's a pretty normal thing over there

@@essee3984 yeah that could be it, still old monk has one of the highest alcohol percentage.Although you are right it differs from state to state, yet in my personal experience whenever I go to mountain and drink whether it is uttrakhand, himachal, ladakh, kashmir, I just don't get intoxicated and I take my alcohols from delhi ncr with me.

'Holding ones drink' depends on so many factors , Tired body , empty stomach , illnesses , even the mindset or mood of the person... Sometimes I can do 8 -10 whiskey shots , sometimes not even 3

There r Indians who can have very good tolerence,ready to drink all free drinks in a bar,there r some who drink a little and fall in gutter,there r some who get violent,insecure,.laughing,crying..it all depends...desi local alcohol is said to b strong and has adulterated too,there r other drinks like toddy which ppl(farmers)have been drinking from ages..similarly There r teetotlers too..

Dec 31, 2019 ... I guzzled a 350 ml 40%White rum bottle NEAT(no water/cola/soda) in about 2 hours --> slept --> woke up in about 5 hrs and didn't feel a thing !

Indians do take 'Bhaang' which is non alcoholic but the high you feel after consuming it is beyond comparison. That's why Indians have high tolerance to alcoholic beverages.

I stopped drinking and smoking long time back. But during my days I used to drink a quarter of Officers choice, imperial blue, bag piper, Royal stag or for that matter any whiskey along with 2-3 king size cigarettes and still walk back home which is normally 10-15 minutes walk from the bar as a normal person, sometimes buying something along the way to eat. After a drink or a smoke I definitely take on sweet paan as mouth freshener.

One of the reason is that most Indian consume 8% volume to volume (v/v)beer. Which is strong one and on average indian take 3 beer of 650ml each(8%). To get more satisfying result some people also drink warm beer. Getting drunk😂. This is what my point of view.
Whiskey 42.8% v/v alcohol containt.
Mild beer 5% v/v.
Desi indian wine 60-65% v/v alcohol.
Pahadi people (people of Hilly areas of north India) are pretty badass at holding liquor, 😂 there's a saying, "surya ast pahadi mast", it means sun sets and hilly guy is drunk. 🤟😎.

I dont know about other countries but i know my Indians well. They can drink alot and stay cool.
Achara ji genetic makeup is just one part. Tolerance also depends on one's daily lifestyle. What food one eats, what work one does and on how much good experience one has with alcohol.
I have observed that when I was heavy I didn't feel the dizzes for a long time...
But when I become less heavy I get dizzess easily.
I don't drink alcohol now at all but that was my personal experience.
3 years back I have chugged 31 pegs of white rum and whiskey mixed and got home carried on shoulders of my brothers.

Let me tell you about, the "punjabi" thing, it's all stereotypes. I am punjabi and I crashed my car in the parking lot after 1 shot of vodka, btw that is the only time I've been in an accident in my whole 29 year old life(also I started driving when I was 12). So yeah all punjabis don't have great tolerance.
