    Dame Trott is a VERY well remembered Pantomime character alright!
    I remember seeing her on Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime one year at Christmas alright!

    Whatever this guy is being paid, it ain't enough haha!
    Great performance. As a children's teacher who has to do this kind of thing, I know how hard it is to engage kids. This guy did a standup job!

      I didn’t like it at all. He didn’t perform with any heart. He just got out there and delivered his script. He performed it like he’d done it a million times before and he didn’t give anything time to breathe. There wasn’t any real relating to the audience. He would’ve performed it exactly the same if the audience was empty.

    Nice. Not often you hear an 'Animal Farm' gag in a pantomime. Or anywhere, for that matter.

    Oh dear that audience is rubbish, they obviously do no how a panto works hope I can do a good job with my cast as a director. to really get the audience cheering ahhh in and booing

    • @RobertPearce
      @RobertPearce  5 лет назад +9

      I think it's down to the fact that the sound was taken from the desk and obviously the audience aren't mic'ed. x

      As a fellow performer I can confirm that that was probably the issue.

      @@RobertPearce Ahh, right, I forgot about that. Even as a bloody sound engineer, I wondered whether the audience just sucked or what. Guess that just means that, when we did hear them, they were ridiculously loud. Ahaha, good stuff.

      For me, some of the jokes were for a more mature audience. Kids are hard to play to. They react to the visual. Even if the sound was better, I don’t think you would have been able to reach them. Kudos to you for taking on such a hard audience.

      The audience isn’t rubbish it’s the script writer that needs to be sacked

    This audience is completely dead.
    A shame as a Dame is the backbone of most Panto and this one was nailing it as far as I'm concerned.
    Oh no she wasn't? Oh yes she was~ 😉

    • @MamaGStories
      @MamaGStories 3 дня назад

      I think the problem is that this is a soundboard recording... and the audience isn't mic'ed.

  • @dibensy59

    Those jokes would work better if the audience was not distracted wondering how that basket is staying on his head.

    Opening is too long and the audience is too young. He did a marvelous job, must have been real hard work

      Hey Anne! This is actually pretty short for a dame opening spot - but for sure the jokes were a bit sophisticated for the audience we had in that performance! Thanks for watching :)

      Pantomime dames are descended from Grimaldi! That's why! Good spot though. Sorry you didn't enjoy my performance x
