- At Sakura and Nako's final concert before joining IZ*ONE (Oct 2018), the legendary leader of HKT48, Sashihara Rino, announces she will be leaving the group. HKT48 is the popular Japanese idol group (a sister group of AKB48) that Sakura and Nako belonged to prior to joining IZ*ONE for their 2.5 year period. Sakura has been a member of HKT48 since 2011. For the these past 7 years, Sashihara Rino led HKT48 from the ground up, alongside Sakura and Nako, turning it into one of Japan's most prolific idol groups. She also mentored Sakura and Nako into the entertainers they are today. Additionally, Sashihara is now one of Japan's most well known idols and a legend in AKB48/HKT48. Sakura and Nako were among HKT48's most popular members, aside from Sashihara.
After the conclusion of this concert, which took place in October 2018, Sakura and Nako will be leaving HKT48 for 2.5 years to perform activity with IZ*ONE. However, unexpectedly, Sashihara Rino also announces she will be "graduating" (leaving) the group at the same time. HKT48 receives a crushing blow, losing 3 of their most popular members and the leader that has carried the group all these years. You can see the shocked reactions of all the members on stage, including the heavy tears from Sakura and Nako, who also bear the weight of leaving their former idol group behind.
At this concert, which took place in October 2018, Sashihara Rino makes a sudden announcement - her "graduation." This is a statement that announces she will be leaving the group to pursue other things. This short clip captures the reactions of the members on stage. This concert is also the last time Sakura and Nako will perform in an HKT48 event for the next 2.5 years while they are in IZONE. Wow - so much happened since this mv came out - who knows if IZ*ONE will continue promoting at all or not? (same with X1) - My guess is no more P48 collab in future. Maybe Nako and Sakura will be back sooner than anyone imagined.....

I think because IZ*ONE has several successful releases and a fan base in Japan it was easier to continue. I am very sad for X1 - those talented guys did nothing wrong and they are paying the price

When nako is still a baby (new) in hkt48 sashihara is there for her, when her rank promoted earlier than the other members sashihara said she was upset but accepted it because she knew nako deserves it and nako proved it. She was like the idols of idols in jpop/48g and if I’m not mistaken sashihara is the reason why nako joined hkt48, nako attended a handshake event and said she was a big fan of sashihara and she said she should audition for 3rd gen. Seeing nako’s role model,senpai leaving hkt48 must be so hard for her and for the other girls and seeing my kami oshi leaving hkt48.. damn.. You’re right. Nako originally lived in tokyo but when Sasshi was moved from akb48 to hkt48, she decided to audition in hakata, fukuoka instead of akb that is in tokyo. She was just 12 when she flew to hakata but as a big Sasshi wota, she followed Sasshi. And Nako is Sasshi’s favorite baby. They also plan to drink alcohol once nako turn 20. Sasshi was the best senpai, she pulled hkt up despite having a scandal. She is the foundation of the group and up until now, im still worried about hkt because Sasshi is no longer there but I know she’s still watching over her babies.

A sudden news
To give a short explanation.
Within AKB it often happens that the person who graduates tells the general manager and maybe one friend and management. They announce their graduation and often already discussed their last stage with management so they can announce that to the fans as well.
To make sure no information about the graduation leaks, others aren't told about it until it becomes public. Being in such a big group and telling everyone about it means high risk of media finding out.
I could go further in detail but I don't have all the details and the way of handling a graduation varies from member.
oh a sone I see. Hi there, I'm a die hard sone too but let's talk about 48G. It's a sudden newd that Rino brought that's why they're very shock. You can also check her last single Jiwaru Days. It's my favorite AKB48 so far because of the message and of course because of Rino.
I was really sad when she announced her graduation. She was never my favorite but I had massive respect for her. She was originally demoted to HKT (when they were about to debut) due to her dating scandal. She basically built up that group from nothing and for her to leave like that was really sad especially with them also losing Nako and Sakura for a couple of years. Just sad that Nako and Sakura couldn’t participate in her graduation single or her graduation concert.

I remember people throwing fits because this happened after they were supposed to have ended HKT48 activities and they didn’t want Nako or Sakura there. You can tell that this is a big moment that they would have regretted missing. I’m so glad they let them participate. They had to miss Sasshi’s graduation but they at least got one last moment with her.

i cried when i watched this last year and cried again today. Sashi was really amazing in HKT. Sakura, Nako and all members (i mean, all 48 groups) are really respecting her. Her leaving the group was kinda predictable but of course as a girl who brought HKT to success for years, this announcement made them sad..

They are already in izone by the time this happened. This is their last activity as hkt48 members before their hiatus.
This happened last year november 26 for HKT48’s 7th anniversary. This was Sakura and Nako’s last participation to HKT because knetz were throwing fits when they attended this. They got so many hate so therefore, they didn’t participated for Sasshi’s graduation concert. Knetz really sucks.

Almost all of them especially the large members typed one do graduation thing /concerts too , and i think it depends either on their agencies contracts or age ? Can someone explains to me this
Usually its when they reach a certain age that they graduate from the group. Younger members are then introduced.

Sometime they choose to leave to go to university, because they want to date (no dating ever for any member), become an actress (several have including popular member Mariko - or if they "outgrow" the group. By the way, it's very common for several Japanese girl groups, not just AKB - Morning Musume (which has been around much longer - since 1997) is also very popular in Japan and Asia and has the same system. Sakura Gakuin (the tv program and idol group that produced Babymetal) is even tougher - age is limited from 10 years old to "graduation" at 15. The tradition of graduation comes from Menudo, which was a hugely popular boy band from Puerto Rico in the 1980s. (Ricky Martin got his start here). After boys reached a certain age, they were sent off and replaced.

If the members are popular, they usually get graduation concerts, but if they aren't popular they still get the last show in the theater. And what happens when they graduated... it's up to them, some continue to be singers or became artists, mc, radio announcers, idol group producers, or even retire from entertainment (^^)

Nako and sakura are going on hiatus because they won a korean show to be in a Korean kpop group Iz*one on produce 48.
They neither of them are the girl announcing her graduation.
Because part of the HKT concept is the idea there in school, graduating is leaving HKT. rather than saying your quitting or leaving you graduate.
It tenda to be you announce your graduation then have a graduation concert as a final goodbye.

What's hkt48?
One of akb48's sister group in japan. Akb48 have many sister groups. Sakura and Nako's original group is hkt48, it's where they started as idols. In 48 group system, if you are popular enough, you can participate in akb48(the mother group) MVs and events some even have concurrent positions meaning they are both official members of akb48 and a sister group. Sakura is so popular, she appears in a lot of akb48 MVs because she always gets a high rank from fanvotes in the annual "general election".

Its one of several sister groups of AKB48 - this one is located in Fukuoka, the largest city in the southern part of Japan.

@@farizjng8502 If you are seriously asking, Produce 48 was a collab promotion project between PD101 and AKB48. AKB48 is the most successful girl group in Asia that began in 2006 that have produced 40 No. 1 songs and 37 million selling singles. From 2011 to 2017 AKB had the top 4 or 5 songs in all of Japan. There are also several sister groups - connected to AKB, including in China, Phillipines, Vietnam, Thailand, and even one coming to India.
One of the unique things about AKB (and other groups like HKT) is they actually have theaters where fans can see them perform live every day - because they have so many members they "rotate" lineups so that different lineups appear in different locations (one lineup is performing while another is attending a fan "handshake" event.
There are different Teams within AKB. Elections are held for captain and even for what lineup will appear in a music video. In order to vote, fans must get an official ballot (which is only available after purchasing the latest "election single" - many fans will buy multiple CDs so they can have multiple votes), or belonging to their official fan club and using their official app. Sometimes they do the rock-paper-scissor thing. There is also a yearly event where each of the AKB groups (including HKT) choose new members from a group of new applicants.
Perhaps this is a Japanese thing, but there are a large number of Japanese middle-aged men (some concerts 95% of the audience is men) who are huge fans of AKB - they spend money to buy physical albums and singles, get the merch like photobooks and such - like BTS, fans buy multiple copies of CDs, so AKB is a huge money maker.
