    We, people in Hong Kong, are not collective blind or unintelligent. We looked at the behavior of Messi on the day of the Hong Kong match, we watched how he tried to explain his 'injury' before the match in Japan, we studied his injury-free 30 mins in the game following. We came to the conclusion what Messi had said is trustworthy. the explanation does not sit well with his contemptuous look throughout the Hong Kong game, his refusal to shake hand with the Chief Executive of Hong Kong and his rejection when asked to offer himself or through an interpreter his 'injury' at the end of the game when the spectators emotions were running very high. We collectively came to the conclusion that, on this occasion, Messi deliberately lied to hide the real reason for his 'no show' at the pitch. What was the real reason we don't know, the disrespectfulness cannot be white-washed by some totally unacceptable and unproven explanations of injury (which miraculously went away in two days). Equally, people on the mainland are not collective stupid or lacking in mental discernment; Chinese people came to the same conclusions as we Hong Kong people, that Messi is a liar on this occasion, he is deliberately disrespectful to the Hong Kong people, and the CE of Hong Kong which represents Hong Kong people. So the nationalistic feeling is sky high. THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT TOOK STEPS TO CONTROL THE SITUATION by taking down propaganda about Messi and the March game in China. Not to stir it up. The commentator, who is obviously biased against China, has got it all wrong.

    I completely disagree with David’s speech towards China Government. What he is saying is exaggerating. We here in Hong Kong can criticise our own government freely. We can always express our thoughts freely anytime on the internet.

      @Grubbygund 9 месяцев назад

      You can, but afterwards you might be arrested for going against the National Security Law..do it at your own risk! Can definitely not criticize the government openly! Just for context I used to live in HK, but now I’ve left, because of the CCP rule. Not just me, but 500,000 ex- HKers have moved out since 2020

      @@Grubbygund HK's National Security Law is no different from the US, UK or any other countries. All you can do is bad mouth China, and use fear mongering, that all you got. China will always be China, HK will always be HK, and the only one that different is you, living in hate. I have HK friends whose family move to Melbourne after 97, they go back to HK ever year and they are no longer fearful toward China, they told me only people who are blinded by hate will continue to hate China. Majority of my HK friends all support the National Security Law, they love HK and believe the CIA and MI6 should not operate at their home city.

    Im not a soccer fan but even i knew how much Chinese people love Messi,and Chinese soccer fans celebrate Argentina as if it is our own win, Chinese people genuinely love messi. What he did in this friendly match is ridiculously rude and disappointed his fan, disregard what this guy's conspiracy theories which all towards nationalism and that's not what China and Chinese media like.

    David Beckham only owns 10% of shares in the Inter Miami CF, so nothing he can do and he is a friendly person. The remaining 90% of shares of the team are owned by 2 brothers, please check their background before you put a conclusion. Yes, it is a political issue guys, but it’s the other way round.

    By the way, the full particulars of the contract between the club and Tatler are not exposed yet, so we don’t know what exactly is in and what is not in the contract. I don’t think it’s good to make a wild guess of what has written in the contract.

    In fact, this matter should never be raised to a political topic, I think it is just Messi's bad mood that day, his discomfort caused. Or he didn't get enough money. What Messi has done badly is that he has not given the people of Hong Kong an answer. He has been silent and evasive, and has simply left Hong Kong. He didn't speak until he got to Japan. This led many people with bad intentions to hype the matter in China, leading to dissatisfaction of chinese people with him and the team, leading to the intervention of the National Sports Administration of China.

    David Zhang get paid to do damage control for the ex-CIA Inter Milan Boss but you know what, is just like everything they do whatever repairment made is always short lived because time will always reveal the truth.
    Anyway, true coward like to use proxy and this time they use Messi. (poor Messi)

    Sorry guys if you get your info from this David Zhang, then all credibility goes out the window. His reporting is very bias. If you watch his videos, he is very anti China.
    GET THIS RIGHT. It is not weather he played or not. His whole demeanor during his time in Hong Kong to that of his time in Japan was very disrespectful to the fans in Hong Kong. That was why they were very angry.

    for those who have participated in any sport at any level, let me ask you two questions, first, who has not played thru muscle pain? The second question: if this game is the World Cup final, given the inflamed adductor, do you think Messi would have still played. I don’t think there is any political motives behind this, but it’s save to say two things: 1. Neither Messi himself nor the team of Intel Miami think this game is a big deal, they put their own benefit over the expectation of 80000 tickets holders and millions of fans across China. 2. Messi’s work ethic is at least questionable.

    • @tkomauer
      @tkomauer 9 месяцев назад

      Well the CCP is everywhere as well in the football association. And if you think that it's offensive, you issue a dislike on the CCP yourself. CCP is the only problem in your country. Wake up and understand it.

    FIFA usually considers punishment for a football association for the inclusion of politics. This is a club team vs HK team. Will it be possible that 🇨🇳 &/or 🇭🇰 teams banned for international tournaments?
