+Franklin Same don't understand it as well, it could be because people dwell in the past with old Workshop. I agree that these dudes shred and Mike Hill obviously saw potential in them (most of the time i felt like it's jealously with a little bit of missing the old workshop since most of these kids wants to get sponsor but know they never will). Joey was what Think and Habitat flow before Think went under. I think Paul was on Alien flow before Workshop die, Max was on Stereo and Krooked flow before the Workshop, Brandon was on dwindle flow. It's not like these dudes are just your park kids who ask to get sponsor.

+Franklin I think the issue that people have with this video stems from a lack of personality in this video. The skating is amazing, the filming and production are on par with the old AWS videos, but the thing that this video sorely lacks is the personality of the riders. Thats what made the old AWS so amazing, it was this weird collection of dudes that stood out in certain ways and the video captured it. In this video you never get to see any of the riders personalities and to be honest if there weren't name title cards I wouldn't be able to tell anyone apart. The music is amazing, but its robotic and the same tone throughout the video.

Brandon Nguyen and Joey Guevara straight killed it. And, I'm honestly surprised at how many people are getting upset about the new roster. These guys are insanely good and it's refreshing to see new faces in world of skateboarding. Half the kids on this comment section that are upset about the intro, are most likely just younger kids foolishly claiming to be jaded, like they actually grew up watching workshop in it's inception, like it's the cool thing to say on the internet. That tired opinion is so fabricated. This edit was very well put together. Everyone should be saying hats off to Mike Hill and Miguel Valle for the amazing visuals. Thank you.

I skate 1 taught me to love alien workshop and I've watched mostly all their tapes but "bunker down" is soothing to my soul and my vision is just concentrated onto this.

Chad Bowers former team manager of Alien along with Jake Johnson, Gilbert Crockett, Tyler Bledsoe left to form Quasi (formerly Mother Collective) and AVE, Reider and Dill went to start Fucking Awesome, Omar is not on a board company but has started Doomsayer, Don't know what brand Mikey Taylor is on. Grant Taylor is on Anti-Hero. Heath retire and his team manager of Emerica.
Chi Huang It sucked, I'm pretty sure none of the dude wanted to be off Alien but Dyrdek ended up sort of screwing up Alien and was one of the reason for the demise. I'm not going to be harsh on this new team. I'll give them a chance given Alien has been changing team for the past 25 years they have been around. JJ also express his feelings about it in a recent interview, "Not on a personal level. I shaked his hand and before „Mindfield“ we ate dinner together as a team, but that’s it. From my perspective, this guy has no connection to the brand, except for his checkbook. It’s sad, because he’s not connected to you and me and all the skaters here in Berlin or in America. He doesn’t come to see these things, he doesn’t understand. He knows that it’s powerful, but it’s more powerful to him to be on television, to own a fashion sunglass brand or whatever else. I was excited when other teammembers left, because I thought, the company is small again and we can start all over. Man. Not just imagining anymore. The new faces of Alien Workshop. The intro was so nostalgic but the part when you see them raise the banners and go inside the building made me feel so weird. Glad the Workshop's back with new guys while keeping the brand's signature style intact. It's just sad knowing the previous generation isn't there to continue the brand's legacy. Long live the Workshop.

especially the music... they put the style that they use back in the days for intros and sequences between the parts to the full video... Sorry but thats horrible for MY ears and destroy the aesthetic from the dope skateboarding...I like it when the skateboarder select the music for his part....

As long as Dyrdek is attached to the workshop, it will never work. it will never be the same, its just capitalizing on what made AWS great in the past. He ruined it then, he will do it again if it means another check. I feel bad for these dudes cuz they got some talent, and i hope they find success whether or not AWS falls again

he left when alien workshop was broken, in an Jenkem Magazine Interview (you should watch it) he said he wasn't paid anymore at some point and many team riders left. that led to the 'end'. but I am happy that things are going up again, I love this company

Honestly, these guys rip. Can't compare them with the old alien workshop, that's for sure. These guys are trying to develop the brand's image and I give them props for that. Definitely a hard thing to do. So just watch it with an open mind guys. I feel they've got lots of potential.
