I spent a month there at the end of 2019 and this was a great walk through that captured this lovely little town of Glastonbury. I learned a few things with your facts at the bottom as well. Very cool. I adore this place and would live there if they would let me. ☺ (I'm American and unfortunately, one can't just plop down in the UK and stay. But if one could..... ) Thank you for making/sharing. Really enjoyed seeing it like this.
Good morning to you Rushia, it sounds like your month in Glastonbury was quite a pivotal one. I do agree it's a fascinating town there's something completely unique about it for sure. I wish we could all just plop down in the place we'd love to be... just like a little google man (we were saying that only yesterday!) Thank you for connecting with us, it makes doing the channel worthwhile! Glad you found the facts at the bottom interesting too. We hope to bring you many more! BTW, Did you get to visit Totnes while you were staying in the area? you might like the walk we have there if so. All the best to you friend.
@@LivingWalks thanks for pointing me there. Just watched it. :) serendipitously, Totnes is the location of a school (Schumacher) I had been pointed to for studying an area of interest. Good morning Graham, we do quite agree, we loved our time spent in Glastonbury. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for dropping by. You might enjoy our film on Totnes, it has a rather similar vibe? Very best wishes to you.
That was nice, gliding around Glastonbury, snippets of conversation, interesting people and places, narrow alleys, it was also cool how you kept returning to the buskers and they become a bit of a soundtrack I was reminded of my one visit in about 1995, and the uninterrupted single take flowing style reminded me of the film Russian Ark. Wish I was back in Blighty...

Hi Luciano, we used to film with quite a bit of equipment but now (and on this film) we just use the wonderful little DJI pocket 2 with the built in mic, which is fine if there’s not much wind noise. So pleased you enjoyed it.
The festival is held in a small village 23:38 called Pilton, which is about 5 miles from Glastonbury. Locals, & I'm one (34 years) tend to call it 'Pilton'. This video did the town justice, more than many, & wasn't hurried. It did miss Earthfare, a large amazing wholefood shop at the top of the town, & the Abbey ruins, with a 36 acre park. ❤
this is exactly where i want to go for a weekend (not the festival but the town). so glad you've shown this. I'm so excited, I would probably live here. You have actual hippies there. and buskers who are actually good. that was really good music! You stumbled on a piece of magic in that street scene from 10:54-11:50. I've watched it 3 times already. Which time of the year did you go?
Love the place , go there as often as possible , shame the Cat and the Cauldron my favourite old shop and the Mockeberry Cafe 😢have gone but still lots to see and always something new😊
Vert well done, showing what the place is really like and with good information in the captions. I liked the detailed quashing of one fake theory very much. It would have been better if that had been followed soon after by the description of "faith groups", because in between those two sections as it is, it seems to move very slowly and I nearly left it at the point . There could have been at least a glimpse of Glastonbury Tor, surely ?
Good morning Mr P, well I appreciate your feedback and will go in with a tweak to the subtitles when I get the chance. I'll certainly be returning at some point and will film the Glastonbury Tor area. Appreciate your feedback. BTW you might enjoy our Totness footage too, as it' has a similar vibe! @@LivingWalks Thanks for your appreciation it is very much appreciated. Totness prints its own banknotes (so do Stroud and Lewes), so it might be of some interest. I'll have a look. Do glance at my Glastonbury Moreton video. I still can't quite believe I achieved it.
Hello there @@mirpopolos6209, I knew about he banknotes in Totness but didn't realise Stroud and Lewis had the same. Thanks for enlightening me. I'll def' pop by and take a look at your Glastonbury Moreton video. Hope to stay in touch.
@@LivingWalks Stroud is a very interesting place architecturally, because unlike nearby villages which are now considered more picturesque, it became more prosperous during the early Industrial Revolution. I think this was because it happened to have water power. The townsfolk, many of them, were keen to spend their money updating their houses by sticking Georgian facades onto much older timbered or stone structures. You can see this , and no doubt film it, if you look carefully. It all fell into decay when the industry left because there was no coal, and it was not picturesque in a standard way, But it has been rescued by young Green people and cared for. It was once run by a Green Party council. I'm sure you could make a good video here, with a lot of co-operation. Brixton printed its own banknotes similarly, but not such a good choice.
Good morning @@mirpopolos6209 thank you for your insight into Stroud, a town we know rather little about. We'll certainly bear that in mind. We don't really run the channel as any kind of a job, so are not filming every week. We really started the channel to offer the walks as a close to being there experience, and it kind of took off. Often people tell us that they feel as if they are back in the place that meant a lot to them again and it evoked a happy memory or two and that makes us happy. Hope you enjoy the channel generally, though it may not always have the commentary you are looking for. All the best to you.
WOAH That plaque was made when I was born I am a 1992 baby :) glad to see me being born part of history awesome if I went to England I would do it to try and find Excalibur! I am pretty sure even if it was real it would be kept well perfectly secretive you never know the answer might be infront of you awesome place! If I was in the dark ages I would LOVE to be around the times of King Arthur I can see why cartoons do time travel to King Arthur Times hail to the king and high respect of a wonderful place!
Hi there F.E! Hope you find Excalibur someday if you do get to visit!! Glastonbury would be a place I'm sure you'd love. Thanks for dropping by friend.
@@LivingWalksIt might exist and could very well be a real Sword forged by an expert and elite Black Smith. It's tradition magick swords are pretty famous. Nobody knows what the real Excalibur looks like and I don't think we will. All the folktales suggest King Arthur would never let ANYONE have the sword I might not be an acception haha. I think he could of gave it to Merlin for safe keep but Legend says Arthur threw it into Avalon Lake which is now Glastonbury Tor would be the perfect way to end the Legend.
@@LivingWalks If I do find it I will let you know I am retracing all occuring events from folktales just to find it. If Arthur already has the sword I am not surprised I have an elvish looking Master Sword replica that is probably not even full tang and could be proof swords like Excalibur could and can exist.
@@LivingWalks Check into the folklore if you want information about the old times of Glastonbury you might actually get something Excalibur has to be right infront of us and we don't see it from Mairon, Ohio goodluck!!!!
Wow! Big difference between Madeira and Glastonbury. I really fell in love with Madeira. One of my favorite movies is "Notting Hill." I watched a Notting Hill shooting locations walking video on RUclips. It looked pretty nice in the movie. Ok in the video.

Love Glastonbury it’s just so sad that it has so many groups of addicts lining the streets and hanging around the graveyard. There’s always someone kicking off, fighting and smashing bottles and spoiling it for everyone.
Thanks for the warning. The SOUL of Glasto is in the TOR. You will learn that when you travel the wells road into wells and glimpse the Tor + chapel to the east, like it was put there on its own by God. We have 'mystic' shops in Bristol, Wells & Gloucester, you name it.
I haven't walked these streets since 2019 and really miss the place. Interesting to see some of the changes, such as the Crown painted pink and the Cat & Cauldron standing empty.
Morning Philip, It's a pretty unique place isn't it and I'd imagine the world seems a little less colourful elsewhere, so I can quite imagine you'd miss it. Happy to bring those streets back to you for a while. All the best to you.

Why are so many people wearing those silly face masks in this video?! Clearly tourists. I lived in Glastonbury for 6 years but moved away 3 years ago. I still miss the place. Thank you for the video it was lovely to feel like I'm back home even if for a brief moment
Haha...British B&Bs used to have a pretty weird reputation. I like to think they're getting better - (that's not to say they actually are though. I just like to think it :)
Awesome video, thank you so much!! I was wondering why you missed the jewel in the crown, the Abbey, not only once but twice? Are you anti-Christian or something? Broke my heart not to be able to see it here.
Ah FC, we had a plan to finish at the Abbey but frustratingly ran out of battery just where we ended the footage and we were due to leave that evening!!! We were certainly as disappointed as you. Ah well, it gives us an excuse to return again. So sorry not to have brought the lovely Abbey to you and to break your heart. Pleased to know you still enjoyed the lovely town though. I live in Somerset and have visited Glastonbury but still haven't found the magnet that attracts so many nutters to the region. I have seen Robin Hood ( or a look alike) and Merlin (or some old boy with a long grey beard), but still cannot understand why it attracts so many idiots. King Arthur has never existed but still people visit in case he walks down the Main Street arm in arm with Guinevere. One thing is for sure - you can make up stupid stories and it will always attract simpletons from all over the World. BTW don't buy the cheap tat sold in shops unless your a total ....... I never have.

Hi what was used to record the sound? It's fantastic thank you!
Hi @amasia-music, So pleased you thought so. Tt was just from the built in mic on the Dji pocket!
@@LivingWalks NICE! The standard Pocket or 2 or 3? Thanks love the walking tour!
Hi @@amasia-music, this was just with the Pocket 2, we've been very pleased with it.
Hi@@LivingWalks thank you for sharing i love it.
If you want to visit the raven haven is the place to stay
Thanks for visiting Katie and for the recommendation.
@@LivingWalks the raven haven is amazing 👏
The Festival itself is held 7 miles from Glastonbury Town, at Worthy Farm in the Village of Pilton.
Thanks @glastomole9570, all the best to you.
@@futuristicentity2417 keep me posted friend, sounds like you have an interesting job on your hands!
👍👍👌🌻🌼
All the best to you Maria.
Wow! Big difference between Madeira and Glastonbury. I really fell in love with Madeira.
One of my favorite movies is "Notting Hill." I watched a Notting Hill shooting locations walking video on RUclips. It looked pretty nice in the movie. Ok in the video.
Hiya HD, ah well we do like to mix it up a bit! We'll be back with more Madeira shortly, but will mix a few other places in between. Including singapore and Malaysia. Hope you enjoy the mix. All the best as always.
What mic were you using? Jus curious thanks
Hi there Eva, the Camera used is this: geni.us/EkIMyhK [We shoot all our footage on this tiny camera] and the external Microphone (only needed when it's windy) is here: geni.us/f1bN [We use this for all our interviews]
@@LivingWalks Awesome thank you so much for the links:) everything looks and sounds great!
Y'welcome Eva!
Hello people of Glastonbury.
I am the goddess Sita and l would like you all to honour and worship me now.
Oh righto!
Love Glastonbury it’s just so sad that it has so many groups of addicts lining the streets and hanging around the graveyard. There’s always someone kicking off, fighting and smashing bottles and spoiling it for everyone.
That's a shame. It's not been my experience when I've been there, but then I don't live there..
Thanks for your insight into this unique place for sure. All the best to you.
I live here
hope you're happy there J?
I know allot about Glastonbury after being her my whole life
... and what a wonderful place to reside, hope you're happy there?
I am theres alot of kind people
You missed all the awesome places!
We'll def' be coming back, to film more of Glastonbury sometime. Our camera ran out of battery otherwise we would have continued. Thanks for dropping by.
I’m a pagan from England and I love to move their
Ah I can imagine it would be just the ticket for you!! Thanks for taking the time to connect. All the best to you.
Any parking?
This might help John: glastonburyinformationcentre.co.uk/visit-glastonbury/car-parks-in-glastonbury/ we always use 'parkopedia'
@@LivingWalks 👍 thank you very much LW . 👋cheers john
7:03 - i thought that man was going to jump you.
Ha ha, not in lovely Glastonbury!!🙂
I imagine there are a number of witches in and around Glastonbury.
You could be right!
Why are so many people wearing those silly face masks in this video?! Clearly tourists. I lived in Glastonbury for 6 years but moved away 3 years ago. I still miss the place. Thank you for the video it was lovely to feel like I'm back home even if for a brief moment
You're most welcome, happy to bring a little piece of this lovely place back to you, until you can be back again for real.
Everytime I pass stonehenge ,,I want to stop and make a RUclips video,,but I always drive pass
Yes, I know what you mean Cammy!
Any truth in the rumour that Pontius Pliate once opened a B&B here? I stayed here and the decor in my room could have been done by the Romans.
Haha...British B&Bs used to have a pretty weird reputation. I like to think they're getting better - (that's not to say they actually are though. I just like to think it :)
Introduce our art
🙂
South West of England really IS… God’s country
Ah, we do agree it has it's own special vibe for sure!
All the best to you.
Glastonbury has very little to do with the so called Glastonbury festival which is held at Pilton 7 miles away...
Indeed Mik tra!
This is not the real Glastonbury, it's a movie set in pinewood studios , all these people are extras , the buildings are empty facades, 😎😂😎
Oh ha ha Paul, I can see how it might well seem that way but wonderful to know it really does exist!!
13.29 …… soooo porsh .. ya mummy
Indeed!
Seems like a hangout for champagne socialists!
Morning @museonfilm8919, ha ha, well I can't answer that, but I do know that we spent an uplifting day there and it was good to see a town thriving. All the best to you.
Flakier than a Kelloggs factory
😯
I live in Somerset and have visited Glastonbury but still haven't found the magnet that attracts so many nutters to the region. I have seen Robin Hood ( or a look alike) and Merlin (or some old boy with a long grey beard), but still cannot understand why it attracts so many idiots. King Arthur has never existed but still people visit in case he walks down the Main Street arm in arm with Guinevere.
One thing is for sure - you can make up stupid stories and it will always attract simpletons from all over the World. BTW don't buy the cheap tat sold in shops unless your a total ....... I never have.
Well Wits End, that's a viewpoint!
