My father lived at the bottom of the Tor. The isle of Avalon. My bedroom faced it. He was forever throwing people off his property with metal detectors. I never slept when I went to visit, as that was the view from my bedroom window at night.
When the moon Sar behind it, late at night, you could feel the atmosphere. A medium finally bought the house from him, saying she HAD to be there.

Did your Dad own a big plot of land with the house then? I'm just curious as I'm into metal detecting myself and I would have thought most of the land around the tor belongs to the national Trust 🙂

I was last in Glastonbury Tor in 1972, having first visited the hill in the summer of 1969 when I had turned 18.
Since I am still in good health I now hope to return after watching your film. I am spellbound by the Tor in all its spiritual mystery.

You and I are about the same age. I’m thinking I would like to go visit Glastonbury especially after reading the book: The Traditions of Glastonbury. I believe if you read this book it would make your visit there even more interesting. Tell me when you plan to go maybe I’ll see you there.

I am glad to say i live in glastonbury, some good history and the bonus of the festival, we get a lot of interesting people visiting , it wasn't quite so spiritual 30 years ago when i was growing up, the shops in the high street used to be more kind of normal shops for every day life. We have had lots of people move here over the years and opened interesting shops, i am in the glastonbury film made by julien temple, me and my brother are the two young boys in the background when the lady is complaining at the war memorial , i am the dark haired one. Couldn't believe it when i first saw it. Lol.

Went up the tor this week. Absolutely fantastic. Got to the top and took my shoes off to ground. A true experience to behold. Will be going back again soon.
I agree with you about the draw on this special place. It fascinated me the first time I see this building on top of a hill.

In my three score years and ten. Glastonbury Tor is the most captivating place I've ever been. I've visited it many time but nothing comes close to my first visit in 2002. I will never forget us relaxing on the side of the hill looking out towards the hills of Wales on a warm sunny April morning. Then listening to the sound of Monks chanting in Latin coming from the tower. Amazing.

I went to Glastonbury in the early 90s with my two young children and then husband. He got soooo ill he could not even look at the Tor. He wouldn’t let myself or my two children explore it. We left upon his insistence and I cried and cried. The marriage didn’t last.

You can tell there is soo much history there. There’s something in the air when you are there. It’s hard to put to words, I feel a pull to the area always, feel calm and at peace there. The Holy Grail is supposedly buried in the hill. Some serious history behind the area that affected the world as we know it today

What a marvellous video. Wonderful footage of this place full of history, myth and legend and really brilliantly presented with the right amount of openness, enthusiasm and knowledge to back it up. I think you would have an extremely successful career in the BBC making such programmes if you chose to do so. Certainly I would watch them. Bravo!

    • @WhiteUnicorn82

Hopefully he has a little more self-respect than to work for such a corporation. They are lower than low and, quite frankly, haven't produced anything of substance for years. Well, saying that, perhaps he could help turn things around. Sorry, I despise the BBC. A couple decades ago they were something that the British could actually be somewhat proud of, but now they are representative of all that's wrong with this hole. It's a shame, an utter shame. Anyway, what a great little documentary! For what it was, the perfect length with the right content, BUT, I want him to do a "full length" version now. One with a lot more history, detail, etc. This could be the teaser for the blockbuster of a documentary!

I’ve been to Glastonbury many times and there is something very special about the Tor and surrounding area. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been before and if you have, I’m sure it won’t be your last! Last night I had a dream that I was on top of a giant hill right next to a tower, on an island, in that dream there were also a race called "Avalonians" who lived in giant underground caverns below that tower and hill, they lived around dark glass/stone like structures, they had blue skin and were the most holy and wise people around, I never saw them, but knew they existed, my awareness could see the caverns and dark purple glass/stone structure in the shape of giant scales under the earth.
In my dream, it was simulated kinda like a video game, I would like to thank my non-conceptual mind for giving me this incredible dream, because at the time of the dream; irl I knew nothing of Avalon, and Glastonbury Tor, but in the dream I spent a lot of time standing right outside of a tower on a giant hill that was on a island, which I now know is called Glastonbury Tor, which I never knew actually existed irl.
When I was in the cavern the was directly below the tower, I remember hearing how people loved the Avalonians because they are more wise and holy, even more so than our Christianity.
The cavern was huge, and with a massive spike perfectly in the center, the thick spike was tall enough to reach up close to the top of the cavern, along the outwards walls of the cavern, there was a spiral walkway down to the bottom of the cavern, which is where the glass/stone scale structures were.
Above the ground was the tower with a spiral stair case upwards.
This morning I started to google search who the Avalonians were, and here's the thing I never research myths and legends at all, I didn't know anything about King Arthur and the time he went to Avalon, I never knew of this tower on a big hill called Glastonbury Tor, I simply just experienced an incredible spiritual dream where I somehow knew about a place with Avalonians.
The only difference from the real St Michaels Tower that is ontop of the hill; is the one in my dream wasn't squared, the one in my dream was round, bigger, and had a spiral staircase that went up.

There’s a place in America called “The Bennington Triangle” associated with all sorts of strange disappearances and bizarre happenings. There’s a ghost town by the triangle called Glastonbury. I always wonder if the people who settled there were reminded of the stories about the things that happen in Glastonbury back home in England, and that’s why they called the American town Glastonbury.

Tor stands for Toroidal Field or Torus- as in when a magnet makes a magnetic field. We are all magnetic and this is a crea”Tor” or a magnetic field of Love. Any word with “Tor” is in it is a creator. Hence- accelerator, capacitor and even distributor. All creators of something.
We live on a Tor- the world is a Tor, it is a Toroidal field that holds us down and magnetises to create all we have, love and see. Including the dome above that holds the waters up 🙏💙🙏

It's hard to believe that there could have ever been any (other) structure much larger than JUST the tower that currently sits there; as there is not that much flat surface on which to build.

Im from a council estate in Newcastle and lived in Glastonbury for 4 years, and i found it to be the most beautiful calming amazing place I've ever lived, i used to love walking my dog up to the top? The rabbits would tease him
