Noo wayyy! We also went to this beer lady at the end, she's so nice and her beer is actually fresh and easy to drink - she will be so happy when she see's this video 😄
What seriously!? 😂 That is so wild! We chatted to many vendors and she’s the only one who would go lower. She also had a great price from the start and a cute little kebab stand to go with the beer! Such a gem xx 🤭
@@ChaseandShelbs You wore her down so she was like, "Okay, whatever." LOL! It was very nice of her even though the cost was already as low as it'll go in the area.

There are a few Vietnam food RUclipsrs were originally from the U.S. that have become proficient in Vietnamese (Dustin Cheverier, Chad Kubanoff, Max McFarlin, Phuoc Map, Big Bentley), and it might not hurt to ask one of them how to pick up on the language quickly to help you through Vietnam in the future. I think Bentley and his Viet girlfriend are or were English teachers so it should come natural to them on how teach languages.
I love the video and I love how Chase is so happy to drink the beers! Lol! Street food stalls like that usually dont wash their glasses thoroughly. They just rinse the glasses with water or serve the next customers with the same glass after you guys left. The 1st lady at 1:26 literally told you to " go away" 😑

Cheers. Flat beer Yuk. I have noticed drafts are usually more expensive then bottles / cans. I always prefer draft when possible. Congrats on 2 for 16. Shelbs smells pasta in a pizzeria yummy. I thought this street would be so much busier. 1 Word Outstanding
I like how happy Chase is to get beer, even bad beer. LOL! I'm with Shelbs, I hate beer and would rather eat food. Speaking of pizza, Shelbs, you guys should try Pizza 4P as I hear it's the best (started by a Japanese guy in Vietnam and is expanding across SEA now). I think you guys wore that nice lady at the end down until she just basically offered you the beer for that price. Good on her for going along even though 10k is the cheapest price that can be found around town.
This video and 90% of videos about Vietnam prove over 80% of Vietnamese are scammers and thieves. And that is because of the culture and I’m ashamed of it.
Chase loves his beer, and me my food! 😂 food > alcohol always haha! I LOVE pizza! I heard there’s was good but we haven’t tried it. Next time if we are in Vietnam we will. She was the nicest lady ever. We were more than happy to support her and pay her original asking price. 🥰
You guys are too much. Bartering with the kebab lady for cheaper beers 😂 Next video, hunting down the notorious laughing gas balloons. Is that still a thing?! It was when we lived there. 😂
Hahaha we always want to keep it interesting even if it’s a little crazy or usual! Why the heck not 😂 it is very much still a thing but rest assured we won’t be doing that LOL!
Guys, it is considered rude if you bargain for better prices on food in Asia. Did you see how uncomfortable the lady was? Totally unnecessary just to proof a point on how cheap you can go.
Actually a TON of people barter in Thailand.. it’s totally normal and I get cheaper items because of it often. We weren’t proving a point, just simply seeing if we could get it cheaper. No harm was done!
Even in 2020 when I was with a Hanoi local girl, the cheapest we could find was 6000 so I highly doubt that the 5000 exists anymore. Probably yes but it would be a small disposable plastic cup with no taste in it, unlike the 10k ones you had there which looked really good. And that grandma at the first place totally ripped you off, there's no fucking way locals would drink that piss looking beer if it was 15k a glass.
She didn't rip them off, when they asked initially, the price quoted to them by the guy was 15k, which is what she showed them at the end. Now, the beer not being good is a different story. But that's the risk you take with drinking the cheapest beer.
Hanoi people have similar bad personalities as China people because they are neighbors. Saigon people have much nicer and friendlier personalities maybe due to the strong influence by the American and French.
In general over 70% of Vietnamese are rude and scamming due to the slum and corrupt culture passed down from one generation to the next for thousands of years. As a Vietnamese, I’m ashamed of the culture.
The first beer lady was indeed cold, but the guy you ran into at 10:00 frame was a real jerk. I am really glad that you eventually ran into some nice merchant who charged you 16k for two beers. Southern people are generally more friendly.
you can write it down: 'Bia Hơi'! then they should know. try not to get ripped off though. those guys are not trustworthy! haggling the price is the only way for you not to get ripped off anywhere in vn.
