It's pathetic how every time Florentine was on how bad Opie tries to come off as cool to Jim. Whether it's sports or music he just wants Jim to like him so bad.
I knew his voice was familiar! He has referred to himself as Ryan and also as Tim. He called in on an ep with Louis CK and was more whiny as Tim. He criticized the show for making fun of newscasters and their news reporter voices, and then they all made fun of him for about 30 mins, including Jim doing the baby voice over and over. And he called as Ryan in an episode earlier in this playlist. That caller is a PHONY.
@@frankieboy8414 I have heard him several times in these old clips, one other time Jim actually recognized his voice and said "did you get a job in radio yet?" and he played it off.
You might be right. He also sounds like the guy who claimed to work with Lady Di at the supermarket during the internship. I think a lot of the callers were just hyper aggressive tri-state guys and all sound the same.
Only time I heard of seats cleared during a storm is when they issue a tornado warning but lightning dude we still stood in the seats well tbh I moved to better seats on the bottom because some people left. But never have I ever heard people moving to the concourse during a game especially in the midwest and south states where we are in the middle of tornado alley in the spring and hurricane season in the summer and fall.
They've polled Native American groups before on the Redskins and around 75% said they WEREN'T offended by the name. In fact the Seminole tribe have given Florida State their blessing in using Seminole name and imagery for their athletic teams.
Hahaha Opie just complained about the band being too loud & that he got a boo boo on his leg bevause of fans pushing at the metal gig. Norton whines about minimum wage ushers being "sssssscumbags". Meanwhile Anthony and Florentine probably just got drunk & enjoyed the gig like normal people.
Fans dont get hit by lighting sitting in the stands at stadiums because the structure is grounded. But in 1998 lightning struck the field in the village of Bena Tshadi, and killed 11 members of the Congolese national soccer team.
God I wish jimmy flor would do a tell all interview about dating robin quivers . How long into dating before jimmy seen the crazy side of robin ? I bet the first little disagreement she made into a full-blown fight with her making cat fight sounds like she does when whe fights with men .
Metallica constantly changed throughout their career and were criticized for it, had they not changed at all and released the same record over and over they would be criticized for it and probably had a much shorter career. It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. I personally love Metallica and think St.Anger was awesome, not every single album needs a long solo or sit down ballad, they were pissed off at each other and put out a record that reflected that. It's heavy and pissed off Metallica, deal with it.
Metallica doesn't owe it to anybody to create a specific album just to appease their old school fans but they haven't written anything post AJFA album that even comes close to the quality of their glory days. People have different tastes but to pretend that Metallica has not dipped in quality is ridiculous. Load and Reload were meant for mass radio play as they were basically metal-tinged hard rock albums. St. Anger was just an abomination and Death Magnetic was an average metal album. The truth is they got huge after they changed the style that everyone loved them for. Florentine, Trunk, and those other guys only have knowledge of metal that became mainstream at some point, which means their knowledge of metal overall is really limited. I love Priest, Maiden, Metallica, Slayer and all the rest but there is a ton of great metal out there that is lesser known. If it didn't happen in the 80's douches like Florentine are clueless about it. And I'm not talking about that nu-metal shit or the metal-core shit that exists now.
your wrong, the first few albums were mostly the same they didnt change much and thats the material everyone loves and wants. people like certain music because it sounds a certain way, when it changes its not what they originally liked to begin with. thats why they perform the main hits from the first few albums live still because everything after the black album was pure shit. theyll never make good music again, to many members are gone and they dont know what good music is. alot of bands can get lucky and make a few hits but most bands cant pick out what songs are hits and sound good
I don't think that's true about Florentine only having knowledge about metal that became mainstream. If he was going to see Metallica play their fifth show at a roller rink before they were anything, that tells me that he's just a fan of metal. Plus he said metal is what helped him get sober before he was famous so that sounds like he's really into it.
How sad is it that Jim's trying to get Kenny to ask the band for a picture? That's totally putting him at risk with how touchy they are about Howard's area and bothering his guests. Where does this picture addiction come from? Is it something deep down where he likes to feel like he's someone important who met all these people? Like look how famous I am? Hard to listen to him when he's on one of his tears about pictures.
i havent liked anything metallica did after the black album. ive listened to and justice for all monthly since i had it on cassette as a kid. and if not ajfa then lightning or puppets and sometimes black if i havent heard black in a while. bobs free to his own opinion but the majority of people who are older hate everything after justice or black. a few younger kids like some of the stuff after because they havent grown up on the good stuff that came out before and dont know it exists. when you release good albums like that at the beginning of your career you have a high demand to keep doing that good people expect it. unfortunately bands get lucky with there first album or 2 and end up sucking the rest of there career. garage days kinda sucked
In short watch a different show, because if the name "indians" offends you. Then you sure as hell shouldn't listen to this show. Wouldn't want you to get offended would we?
Metallica is the greatest band ever, but the idea that you're a shit fan if you dislike certain albums is a bit extreme. I'm not a fan of Load, Reload, or St. Anger. Some tracks are fine, but on the whole they don't touch the 5 preceding albums. Love DM and like Hardwired a lot. Jim seems to think anyone who dislikes specific albums is an asshole Metallica hater.

That little rant by Florentine about Lightning was awesome
12:49 - Florentine’s rant about the rude staff at the Apollo Theatre 😂😂😂
I fucking love Ant's Seinfeld thing. Jimmy falling for them is so good. That bird one lives in my head rent free.
"They KILLED her fucking doves?!"
I've had enough of Opie...
@d d it doesn't work that way. Every other aspect of the show is amazing except him. The sweet irony
I've had enough of this palaver.
Which one is opie?
Had enough with norton as well his homosexual insecure humor is tiresome
Haha I immediatley thought of Seinfeld when I heard Anthony's story.
Got eeeeeeeeeem
Wow, Florentine is a fan of St. Anger!?! I thought i was the only one 😆
Wow Opie, you're so brave playing Metallica on your radio station. Good for you.
rpm5057 he's been brave since he was 18
@d d shut up Opie
I think hes full of shit. He says later he didnt kow about em till black album.
It's pathetic how every time Florentine was on how bad Opie tries to come off as cool to Jim. Whether it's sports or music he just wants Jim to like him so bad.
Spuds Buckley fucked loved Metallica he was a big Lars fan.
Saw them at L’Amours in ‘85. Never had to see them again. RIP Cliff
Geez ... Every time I find one of these and think, "This looks interesting," I hear Opie's voice and think, "Oh, yeah. Nevermind."
I don't need to go to The Apollo to notice it, Jim.
LMAO!!! "Yeah but he rants without knowin"
I bet that NFL caller is the same bitter radio guy caller. guaranteed that's him
@Tom Henesey he actually sounds just like the Lady Di caller who said they worked with her at a super market.
I knew his voice was familiar! He has referred to himself as Ryan and also as Tim. He called in on an ep with Louis CK and was more whiny as Tim. I love when the worm is turned down for a celeb pic.
49:35 This is the guy who called as the "failed radio guy" when louis ck was in studio.
Damn, you may be right.

That guy didn’t “work for the nfl” at best he worked for the stadium
Hahaha Opie just complained about the band being too loud & that he got a boo boo on his leg bevause of fans pushing at the metal gig. Norton whines about minimum wage ushers being "sssssscumbags". Meanwhile Anthony and Florentine probably just got drunk & enjoyed the gig like normal people.
A lightning strike killed the entire Congo national soccer team in 1998.
Anthony with another fake Seinfeld story, got me.
Jimmy and this guy were right I've been cleared out of seats in the new giants stadium and Yankees stadium
their studio is the size of a broom closet
I'm not against Metallica being famous, I'm against them making trash albums. For example, Death Magnetic was great-- Load was trash.
Fuck that load is a great album
Fans dont get hit by lighting sitting in the stands at stadiums because the structure is grounded.
But in 1998 lightning struck the field in the village of Bena Tshadi, and killed 11 members of the Congolese national soccer team.
We've got a football team called the GIANTS and Im five foot nothing and Im not happy....Errrr!
lmao @ Anthony's Packers joke.
Grew up on Buffalo New radio 103.3 the fox / the edge 97 rock I knew all the radio d.js jocks I don't remember opie whatsoever..
did jim get his photograph?
nope.
"...we're fabulous; get used to it."
Listen to how Opie drains the energy out of the show between 2:00 and 3.00.
Oh4Chrissake Florentine is talking so fast paced and clear and he’s funny. Then opie just slowly meanders and stutters and says nothing important.
My family history is cherokee and I say leave the redskins name
God I wish jimmy flor would do a tell all interview about dating robin quivers .

St. Anger was so bad it's great. The music was pretty cool but all the lyrics fucking stink so bad they're classic.
Yes i fuckin love st anger fuck all those little pussies who dont like it
It sounds like alot of these men aught to be listening to sports talk horseshit. Comedy deserves its own spot.
Caller destroyed these guys lol
For reeeeeeal the opsshter "wore out" that Metallica album

Ufc talk was never interesting. Ever
This guy is right I've been to a baseball game, Detroit tigers and they cleared the seats cuz lightning
probably the fact Metallica has no idea who they are
Funny, but it's pretty much Florentine doing his recent Podcasts live.
In short watch a different show, because if the name "indians" offends you. Then you sure as hell shouldn't listen to this show. Wouldn't want you to get offended would we?
Starting at 11:30
This is PEAK Opie cringe.
It's pretty rough hearing him attempt to keep up with the other three funny people. He just repeats what Florentine says "Beeuutiful"
Opie I just like Howard stern with music they know nothing
Nope....
Did they not get Metallica on their show? I heard that Stern did. What excuses did they make this time? Publicist? Management?
Guys on the rahdiooooh and can't name a band
Then listen to something else.

Metallica were only good until Cliff died. Florentines music tastes are so old, corny and outdated.
The only thing I remember about Metallica was Napster.
Opie ruins everything
