A player and teacher of your caliber admitting that playing SRV to-tempo is hard is about as classy a move as you can find. While it is a basic fact that playing SRV correctly is hard, ego often gets in the way. Years ago I was learning the accents in Mary Had A Little Lamb. The fingers would go in the right spots at the right times, but the feel was all wrong and I knew it. It was really pissing me off at the time. A pros-pro I knew came up behind me in the music store we both worked at and said "SRV always gives me fits." That man was truly on another level.
Thought the same thing Brett. Many of these younger Utube teachers are SOOO egotistical. Half the "lesson" is them shredding which ends up having nothing to do about the subject at hand. Robert is a no-nonsense, classy guy with his own unique swagger. Might even throw a joke out here and there!! (You have to listen closely to catch it). Lol
Good morning Robert, I've been 1 of your members for just over a month. Your amazing guitar playing and instructions have greatly improved my guitar playing. I'm excited for the next month. Thank you Robert.
Initially I do not know what is the purpose of tuning down half step. Now I realize, it is easier and more melodious when we bend. Easy on fingers. Cheers from Indonesia.
Playing every day for fourteen weeks now and picking things up a bit easier each time. This for me is a bit of a complex lick however each one is getting owned more quickly as I can pick up the sections more and more by listening to them, not just watching them. Thank you Double RR and I wish you a great Christmas Season!
You caught my attention when you were humble enough to admit that SRVs tempo was hard to keep up with. I've fought with trying to achieve his speed and how he blazes thru position changes for years. He truly was on another level! Thanks for the lesson! I'm working on something in D right now that this will fit in well with.
I am amazed at how awesomely you play. You make it look so easy. I have learned a ton from your videos, but I can't see myself to ever be as good as you are. But it is fun trying :-)
yea, yea, yea!! I love your short, accurate and very focused lessons. I'm a very amateur electric guitar student, only 3 months, and can sometimes follow your very cool licks. Thanks Robert. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you have a blessed Christmas. 🙏✌🎸🎶🎵👍
You are an out right liar, 3 months and you're following licks like this, that's bullshit and you know it, every experienced guitarist that reads your comment knows you are a liar, all liars get caught out, just like you have just been.
Always love your vids. And your tone. My only challenge is watching your fingering because you switch your fingers in some unusual ways to my way of visualizing. Especially your 2nd and 3rd fingers. I always use my proper 1,2,3,4th finger for the fret of the riff i play on.
I've never been so amazed by a lick before, my god, this is really good
35+ years of playing here and still amazed what blues scale can do.. Thank You Robert.
playing for 40 years live in Israel love your lessons you can always learn from everyone.
Thanks Robert.
You are able to EXPLAIN IT SO WELL. Thanks for making it so easy to grasp.

Fabulous!
Super cool!
great, Robert!
Got the lick down, however gaining speed on it will take some more time. I finally went out and picked up a metronome. It's a whole new world now.
Love, love, LOVE !!!
Deadly!! 👍
Nice one fella
Awesome!!
Great lesson Robert! Reminds me more of a David Gilmour lick...the smoothness
Good lesson, nice lick, great tone, what more do you need?
More SRV!
Robert, how about a few Jazz/Blues turnarounds ala Matt Schofield in his live version of Everyday I Have The Blues.
Nice!
I like this💪😉

Awesome lick! Can you share your Fractal patch? I’d love to add that tone.
Sure! How?
You can upload your preset to axechange fractal web site, especially done for this purpose.

Try this one! axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=7506
so if you tune down what do the est of the band do about tuning?
ta fella. hope you well.
Gee, better roll my sleves up for this one
This Vaughn
Would anyone say if he is using a slapback delay on this for that round tone?
👍✊
Robert, are you doing any directional/sweep picking?
