I've seen the mistake "in the wild", as it were. That "de que" looks like something that would require the subjunctive, but evidently both clauses are quite indicative, which makes sense.

If native speakers say it...and the RAE says no...and it's the RAE that's making an error
It happens a lot
It's all about striking a balance; discrepenecies could be seen as "bad" habits or just colloquial idiosyncrasies. The same is true of English.
