The jealous alicorn (she was enchanted to have unicorn and Pegasus magic by the sisters) turned into queen chrysalis and left canterlot. She then realized the amount of power she had, being able to transform and feed off of love. She built a hive and started the changeling species using pure magic to make it so she could create more, and when she found out about the royal wedding, she made a plan to replace princess Cadence and after success she started working on a plan to imprison the sisters and control the sun, moon, as well as the stars

In my view, the "nightmare force" is not a parasite... it is not even conscious. Think, the nightmare force in Luna didn't do bad things because that made her strong, she did bad things based on Luna's wish before transforming: To be adored...to be important. So much so that when she appears in episodes 1 and 2 of the first season, her first reaction is to be frustrated at being forgotten... just as Luna felt frustrated at not being seen... not being adored. The strength of the nightmare is just a representation of the being's subconscious. When you hold on to bad feelings, eventually they come back worse...but they are not aware...it is just you...without all the other feelings. Imagine the following situation: Take away Luna's empathy, love, gratitude, sadness and joy and leave only the following emotions: Anger, envy and resentment. It's exactly how the nightmare moon behaves
im now thinking about something that wasnt thought of in this video if the nightmare force dates way back and corrupted stigian, how was it able to possess other characters such as luna if the nightmare force was stuck in limbo with the pillars ? luna turned into nightmare moon and sombra was sombra while it was in limbo with the pillars so that doesnt make sense
i feel like Cadence's evil side would be Inactivity I would say. "Cadence" literally means a rythmic end of a song or set of words An antonym of Cadence is Inactivity, so it would work.

i think everyone saying that cadance evil form would be called "heart breaker" forgets that every evil form has a different name, using the same word for both daybreaker and cadance evil form "heart breaker" wouldn't fit. My take is to just call her "heart crusher" or "love crusher". That way she gets a different name with the same idea.
Ok, so the thing with the stages could be a very good aspect. The thing is: when Luna fought against King Sombra, it was shown that with her amount of rage, her appearance also started to change. She first started to change her eyes, then her color, and then she became a kind of mix between Princess Luna and Nightmare Moon. So if the theory with how Luna became Nightmare Moon is indeed the correct way of how it was, it would align perfectly with this theory ❤
