I suspect that the name New Los Angeles is because it is the last hope of humanity, and it was one of the few ships that survived the exile from Earth. The guy in the hood is probably a twin of Logos, like Pyra to Mythra or A to Alvis.
I love this game. Can be a bit of an acquired taste for some people due to a difference in direction from the other games but I feel that's what makes it so special because where it shines it REALLY shines.
@@sentoworf I've heard it's more exploration based, which I think actually sounds interesting. As it would give a focus to the world overall, and for a Xenoblade game, that's quite a focus.
@@haogaboon Yeah it's a lot more exploration focused and they give you a lot more tools to make it fun in a way the other games don't replicate. And although there's less of a main story focus there are a lot of side quests that flesh out the world really well that are worth doing. So it's not like you're just running around the world aimlessly.
@sentoworf that's cool. My personal favorite Zelda game is Majora's Mask, and that had more of a side quest focus when you think about the most effective way to play. So I can get behind doing side quests and other forms of world building as a main component of the game. Also, the heart to hearts will be good, I'm sure.
4:23 technically Xenoblade 2 takes place on Earth (and XB1 is a pocket dimension), but the only remnants of the old Earth are under the cloud sea. They still made the old Earth stuff super interesting, but yeah if it was all Earth, that’d probably be super boring lol

Yeah Earth is destoroyed and a single ship survives and crash on an Alien planet. So the last remnant of humanity is on the brink of extinction and stranded on an Alien planet. The game is a fully open world game and more focused on exploration but the story is still pretty good for an open world game just a bit shorter than previous games. On the other hand they announced more story so that might change in the DE edition.
@robertwahlstrom I have heard that the game focused more on exploration as I use to look at those Nintendo minute videos on my 3ds since they were on the eShop, and I actually am really hopeful about it being more explosive based as it gives even more of a focus on the world your in. And appreciate you telling me how they end up on Mira (hope I spelled that right lol)
From what I’ve heard (I was never able to play it either lmao), XBX isn’t story-heavy like the trilogy, and that’s partially why it’s a spin-off/not a numbered entry. People have said the story is good, just not as in depth as the trilogy’s stories. It’s moreso within the sidequests and about lore, worldbuilding, and the characters/Heart-to-Hearts. Basically the story is good, but it’s not fully fleshed out, and the game is moreso about the exploration and gameplay

It's great but yeah alot of people missed out for various reasons.
