Lovely gesture by the Ref to offer the hand of congratulations near the end of that clip. Not too often you'll enjoy the pleasure of witnessing a maximum, even more rare to see one by the sports most gifted player. A genius some would say and I can hardly disagree. What a talent, made it look like a stroll in the park, I bet he even had time to think of what he's having for his tea during that break........good on ya Ronnie.
I particularly liked the double kiss on the opening red and the handshake, Ronnie wasn't too bad either..love that he put on a proper show for you all..
@fearlesslegend Steve Davis was awesome but I know even he doesn't agree with you. His BBC punditry makes reference to Ronnie's status all the time. One of his biggest fans I'd say and bigs Ronnie up to the max. Not that he needs it.
@fearlesslegend I beg to differ as awesome as Steve Davis is and was in the 80s had Ronnie been around he would have at least half of the championships he had with epic matches
Yes..that time could also never get beat by other pro..even in exhibition, ranking event or championship..5:20 sec recorded by Ronnie that has been at the monument snooker history!
+Gareth Keeley THats exactly what you say to the poor fat kid that always finishes last. Lets face it. He will only beat ronnie if he had 5L of vodka in his gut and even then perhaps ronnie would still win. :P Not saying you are bad forbsie, but lets face it, he is a legend. haha.
+thelastdon213 trust me mate i can play thats why i went on second last..going in break ability. .but font gorget your playing pos the best player ever so not hard to mis a long pot
John Forbes I understand. I was just kidding. But in general the gab between someone good and someone great is massive, O'Sullivan can make pro's look bad that win some big events, when he gets going he seems to be unbeatable. I actually liked the long pot attempt as it shows some guts to go for it. Tho stratgically perhaps not the best one to go for at that point in the frame.
Forget the "official" 147s Ronnie has made. I have seen him to this way more times in places like this. The dude knocks in 147s for fun...and twice on sundays. You are very lucky though dude...it must have been a special thing to see live. You at least got one shot in...peace to ya.
That one shot Ronnie's opponent had was key to Ronnie making that maximum. I love that Ronnie was so nonchalant about it. To be honest, I'd be proud to have played Ronnie when he scored a 147.
Ronnie occasionally says some strange things and I get as annoyed with him as anyone however we should all consider ourselves lucky that we lived in the same era as the greatest ever cueman. The people who have gone to one of his exhibitions and witnessed a 147 (and there are many of them) are bloody lucky. He is an extraordinary talent.
thing what occurs certainly to me in my mind is that their should be an entirely different class of table for Ronnie, its a table twice the size of an "professional snooker table" and the pockets are even smaller.
@@jase6709 Hey, I guess he's just showing them what reality is. I've even heard the opposite of that which is that he will sometimes let up or try a shot instead of a safety just to give the younger players a chance. I guess that's not the impression you got...

It's amazing on big tournments we dont see that view, and dont realize how much people are looking at the player when he's playing. That's why an amateur 147 cannot be compared to a pro one.
Does selby own Leicester then 🤦♂️. If you look at the video willie Thorne is on the mic . Willie Thorne is from Leicester this could’ve been in willies snooker club that he owned . Not sure if it is or not
He did that in 6 mins. 58 seconds. Only about a minute and a half more than his fastest. lol. He's amazing. Thanks for the video. From the U.S. here where virtually nobody knows what snooker is or has even heard of it. I think it's sad because it's my favorite pool sport yet I've never been on a snooker table. The closest place with a snooker table to me is about 6 hours away. Hoping to get there this summer though. Was this at a pub? I was just wondering if it was a paid exhibition or if he just showed up there? Thanks again forbsie.
it was in a snooker club but on the ground floor where there is a pro table set up for the resident pro (ben woolaston) selby often goes there to play ben and its where his jesters academy for kids is set up..it was a organised meeting
Ronnie said in an interview that during backroom practice sessions he used to score 140 and rerack without even trying the final black to fcuk with Stephen Hendry....LOL..
Forbsie, that must have been great. What was the occasion? Would have been the shit if Ronnie had inquired about the prize for a maximum after the first red, but oh well.
The amazing thing about Ronnie the way he moves from a ball to another!
So smooth, so easy, so quick and so astonishing!
He just makes it look so ridiculously easy. The true mark of genius.
Did expect him to ask if there was a prize for the max :P

It's lovely to see the late Willie Thorne in this video, the man who's had more 147's than anyone else in the history of the sport.
What do you mean? According to Wikipedia, he had 1 max break.
He's the greatest player that's ever lived, nobody will ever be better. Amazing.

His sense of total confidence and grace about the way he plays the game is just a pleasure to watch, he’s a genius.
I don' t see the part when happens that you play against him

He broke lol
Have you seen the one with Mike Tyson and I, he broke off as well,

Apparently you suck as bad at snooker as you do at coming up with original and funny RUclips comments.

Best of all time. Legend.
His control of the cue ball. It's just insane. And one of the fastest brains in snooker.
He is so far ahead of almost anyone else that it is truly astonishing. Ronnie The Magician.
I totally agree with you. He makes the impossible look like potting on a pool table.
Thanks for the upload. This is a memory that you'll always remember. What a break, he makes it look so simple. :)
The best Willie Thorne comment ever: He keeps his mouth shut. :)
Thomas Stollberger but keeps the mic two inches from his mouth the whole time threatening you 😂😂😂
2:17 chalking his cue thinking he will get another shot soon

That wasnt a frame of snooker, that was a cry for help. 🤣
All the pros do that before they put the cue back in its case🤣🤣
Great capture on video. like how he Sands there an keeps chalking his cue thinking he going to be getting a shot.
