the most under-rated band of all time? Vernon Reid the modern day version of jimi hendrix. Doug Wimbish who is in his own area code in bass playing. Corey Glover who goes from motown r&b crooner to a heavy metal screamer in a heartbeat, and the eight wonder of the world Will calhoun. yeah this is the greatest band from the past 25 years in rock.
Cory can do what ever he wants with a voice like that.. he is equally at home in the blues or Jazz, soul... perhaps one of the finest male voices out there.
Such an incredible band. In terms of musicianship, vocals, songwriting ability, I put them up there with any of the greats. I’ve long admired them, and still do.
These guys were matchless in rock since the very first day...they were just too much musical for the scene...they raised a lot of envy...that's why the industry killed their career...they would have been much bigger
THis band had a metal groove that scared the shit out of all the white metal bands of the 1980's/90's.
Wonder what Jimmy Hendrix would say about this band about Mr Vernon Ried who simply owns his guitar solo work I'll stay on topic but I can't help give a mention of The Time with amazing guitar work from Jesse Johnson . Fishbone and more. Living Colour is still going strong,and still sounding good.
Living Colour as Extreme are two of the most greatest bands of all time, and both the same level of under-ratedness
Vernon is one of those innovative guitarists. He plays from his heart and not so much from his head.
Living Colour don't need to prove or show anything to anyone, just be themselves and that's more than anyone can wish for. These guys deserve a place in music history!!!
